This definitley in my top 20 best games of all time. I remember back when I was a kid beating this game over and over until I mastered the hardest difficulty. Great memories.
@qwert That's "Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master", which is the English version of "The Super Shinobi II" (this version obviously shown here). The Super Shinobi II = Revenge of Shinobi. So I was asking for a sequel to this game (Super Shinobi II), Super Shinobi III. I suppose some would say that the two Game Gear Shinobi games would fill that request, or even Shinobi X fore the Saturn. While I do like those games, more so the GG Shinobi, I'd still love a proper 16-bit style Shinobi game.
Sega made it into two 3D hack-and-slash action game. Shinobi and Kunoichi (Nightshade in US/EU versions). But those two games' receptions were not very good at all. And Sega never make any Shinobi game anymore.
Yeah. I thought those looked great, and I bought both, but I never considered them to be a part of Sega's Shinobi legacy. Since I made the original post, we did get Shinobi for the 3DS, which wasn't too bad, but is a far cry from the quality of The Super Shinobi I and II. The new forthcoming Shinobi title looks promising, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Sega's recent offerings are hit or miss. I hope they are giving their classic IPs the attention they deserve.
@@Moeflyer6213 not really given bad reception. It was definitely challenging and very conceptual in its combat system but was nothing like the Shinobi series we knew before.
This game is great. I have finished the revenge of shinobi, that took some doing. This is more fun from what I've played thus far. Virtually beaten shadow dancer too.I consider shinobi and Castlevania to be the cream of the crop of 8 and 16 bit platform genre.Hard games with great controls music and graphics coupled with a style that dates well. The Super Shinobi (Revenge of Shinobi in the US) series was pretty notorious for this... they had Godzilla, Rambo, Terminator, Batman and Spider-Man ripoffs in part one!
Which Ninja Gaiden game are you talking about? The arcade version or the NES version, the Gameboy version or the Game Gear version or the Genesis beta version or the SNES trilogy version or the Xbox version or your Mom's version

Altered Beast man😍 Loved my Megadrive! What a console. Had the SNES too! Then I got the Nintendo 64 so I could play 007 Golden Eye. That game was insane for its day! I remember shooting the tiles in the bathroom and watching them break and get bullet holes😲 It was 1 of those times when u are amazed by something. Fighting on the big satellite at the end😍 What a game. Amazing how far gaming has come from when I was a teenager! In some ways it's got worse but mostly got better.
It's a reference to the Ninja movie Trilogy: Shinobi = Enter the Ninja The Revenge of the Shinobi = Revenge of the Ninja Shinobi III - The Return of Ninja Master = Ninja III: The Domination
There must have been so much that I had already forgotten about this game. Like, I don't remember having fought Mecha Godzilla at some point. But apparently you do! Lol.

The reason will be forever unkown to us...but of one thing we can be certain: this Mecha Godzilla have nothing on the SPIDER-MAN (and BATMAN) that appears on one of the previous shinobi games.
You're right, but somehow I like it 'cause it's familiar :-) Wish I played it back in the days on my Mega Drive, today it looks good but it's not as faszinating as it was in the 90s.

Difference in naming in Japan, almost like a new series of Shinobi games at that time. Revenge of Shinobi is considered Super Shinobi 1, while the arcade Shinobi and Shadow Dancer are their own thing, though the enemy in Revenge and Shinobi 3 are Zeed, from the arcade Shinobi game. Ah yes. The Secret of Shinobi.
Why the Super Shinobi 2 are the same Game like part 3 return of the ninja master ???
Difference in naming in Japan, almost like a new series of Shinobi games at that time. Revenge of Shinobi is considered Super Shinobi 1, while the arcade Shinobi and Shadow Dancer are their own thing, though the enemy in Revenge and Shinobi 3 are Zeed, from the arcade Shinobi game. Though they were lead in the original arcade game by Joe Musashi's master in ultimate betrayal.
