8:23 is the one im on and i can't seem to beat it any tips?
ShruikenNinjaturtle * 😂any tips..? just watch how this guy beats him
Perfect! Превосходно!
yeah easy game
old classic easy game
This game is an actual masterpiece, look at this combat, the design, atmosphere is literally art, the bosses, the damn OST.
1st and 2nd stages were fun bcs it matched with Japan, other ones are meh, but that's 90's game, we had to expect ninja fighting either modern soldiers, aliens or other stuff
The OST is perfect!
even the sfx sound fucking awesome
@@qubek533 Actually I think they are not aliens, they are biological weapons.
controls are shit
I don't know why it is, but I really love how the bosses were designed in Sega Genesis games like Shinobi, Contra, Castlevania, and Splatterhouse. The creators just weren't afraid to make the bosses as grotesque and intimidating as they could.
yeap, that's something Nintendo would never do!
emulationStation
Even the more family-oriented games had bosses of that vein!
Just look at Alien Soldier! (Arachnophobia warning for one of the bosses)
Ronaldo Agudelo
Even the first three bosses in one of the Looney Tunes games are like this!
@@dropkick0129 Hence the saying, "Sega does what Nintendon't!"
I love games where enemies change colour depending on the damage they've taken
RABtoons
You'd love the Metroid series.
Old game design I miss
That actually you RABtoons?
You see that a lot in games from Capcom, Konami and Sega from the 90’s. Also Taito’s Darius series. I like when they “flash” faster as they take more damage, almost every Konami beat em up from the 90’s does this.
That, and when enemies flash and pulse when getting hit or low on health. Love that sh*t.
I never realized how OP the Shinobi in this game was when I used to play it. The guy is defeating friggin demons, undead Samurai, four-armed demons, war boats, battle mecha, hawkmen, and FUCKING MECHAGODZILLA armed with nothing but a couple shurikens (kunai, actually) and some blades.
Luigi Gaskell and then there is shadowdancer, which is basically the same game but you die after one hit.
Luigi Gaskell Um, excuse me. But that kind of stuff is standard ninja fare
sirFox oh cool
and surfing board xD
but the real question is: who would win a death battle shinobi vs strider?
I couldn't beat this as a kid, so I went back and finished as an adult. This was the first one in a line of games I've been trying to complete from my childhood, and I can say it was absolutely gratifying to do.
I always loved how the game went from a Ninja fighting in feudal japan to robots, mutants and demons whitout warning, took me off guard as a kid since this was the first shinobi game I played...
Gotta love bosses design from back in the 90s
Yozeh So creative compared to nowadays
Brutus, Vengar's Physical Form What do you mean nowadays? Games like Darksouls have awesome designs
Brutus, Vengar's Physical Form Ey fam, im just saying. Bosses are still creative, just using Dark Souls as an example
Reb3l Vanguard Yeah they can be. DS is a good example
You're not the only one
This game is random in a good way, it's like someone at Sega just walked into the office and shouted out into middle of the bull pit "hey we need level ideas for our ninja game" "Horse riding kite level" "brains in jars on a conveyor belt" "giant mechs fighting in the ocean" great we will use all of those.
That is one calm-assed horse.
... and pardon me for having bad flashbacks of Battletoads on that hoverboard.
Oh, I remember battle toads... Its like superman 64 level design.
One of my favorite parts of this game was the end art everytime you defeated a boss. Everything about this game was just immaculate from the music, stage design, and controls. One of my favorite ninja games of all time.
Everything about this game was bad ass back in the day. The music, the levels, the bosses. Just too ill.
Gregory Edwards awesomeness. I'm ready to time travel again. i have this sega collection on my ps3 why can't this be updated to 4k for the ps4.
Dude can you imagine? It would look so amazing. What a legendary game.
It sure was man! =D
This game needs a upscale remake .
Gregory Edwards maybe Mecha Godzilla and the fake Balore, the giant one handed tumor-headsplosion looking creature and the corny phoenix demon and hair tengu guy and super ninja android
The boss at 02:49 looks like something H.P Lovercraft would have fictioned.
+Hai .Spawner Wow The Crypt Keeper took too much meth.
Guess it shows us what a ninja can do against the Old Ones.
Haispawner
to me it looks like something from Metroid.
What in the hell is that thing? That's one ugly son of a bitch.
@@kevinrodriquez6546 According to the backstory, it is a "failed experiment" that was discarded by the laboratory above, thought dead. Only it wasn't a failure, and it actually survived and continued to evolve and grow in the sewer.
3:01 that laser sound effect... It's just perfect..!
1:30 that running horse pixel art animation is TOP!
Woah!! and that Castlevania style ending... I never expected that! :o
Absolutely love this game! It’s close call between this and Shadow Dancer for my favorite old school ninja games.
Shinobi III fué toda mi infancia.
Buenos recuerdos
Love some of those boss death screams. “Hmuuuhhh”
FLAWLESS most impressive and fine display of graphics one of Sega's strong designs. Thank u for sharing 🤘
I wish Sega remembers Joe Musashi one day and makes a new Shinobi with him starring again.
I mean, Hotsuma is cool and all, but the OG Shinobi guy is top tier.
Yeah
That Body Weapon Boss is the scariest looking thing and level in the entire game. That boss gives me the creeps. If that thing was real, their would be a giant panic awaiting us all.
I love how after the lessons learned from the last game... They came again with Shredder, Krang and Mecha Godzilla lol
The hydra boss was absolutely manging, gross, buzzing and horrifying to the max. I love it.
Sega at their in-house best. I wish they were still releasing consoles now, it would help break up this Sony/Microsoft monotony. Shinobi is one of their best franchises.
2:49 I'm always felt scared at this part
That boss at 2:50 scared the shit out of me when i was a kid
An Ostrich
The thing just reminds me of Metroid...
I'd trace the shit over it.
was it because he was trying to touch you with his hand?
Me too!!!
Me too. I was terrified of it!
2:48 in my first time I fought the boss, I was very scared ... because his body was so big and terrible the boss on the stage ... after a few months I ventured to fight him ... so often I fight him, finally I was not afraid anymore to fight him ... so, very easy against it😂😂
Bapak susah game ni bro. Aku asyik mati je dulu2 sampai stress pecah joystik tu ahahaha
9:31 it's gygas from earthbound
Thats what I said when I played this.
I know NINJA GAIDEN & STRIDER were always my 2 top most dearest NINJA games of all times, but SHINOBI is also a great memorable game, especially this one, shinobi 3, I still own it. :)) great game
hey, you have notices of Count Dracula?
hey brother Belmont, of course EU SUNT THE DRAGON !!
Fine, this monster dont belong in this world!
just like mighty RICHTER BELMONT will say,, btw you can see my channel for great CASTLEVANIAN reference & true love for it
There is a blocking function?!?!
Yes, and If I do remember correctly, after throwing a shuriken, you hold the button you throw with. (B button as default)
Many many years ago, I played this game. I loved it. Shinobi games on the Sega Mega Drive (Genesis to my US cousins out there) were awesome.
I was only 6yrs old when i played this Game. Now almost 24yrs old and still playing this whenever i have time.
1:02 I have a horse, and I'm not afraid of using it!
He never got hit because he mastered the art of Ninjutsu, the Art of Invisibility. He is a true Shinobi!
I never realised how the POW Powerup was overpowered! I'm used to beat the bosses without it, and seeing how only a few shoots with the POW Shuriken already turns the bosses red it's quite a revelation! Hahaha
It was one of the very best games of the Sega console back then, thanks for bring back the good memories.
i beat this game many times back in the day and i was never aware that you could block
9:20 The last boss is a mix of ninja warrior with iron man and a saiyajin haha
Bosses:
Samurai first boss 0:20
Shadow dancer 1:05
Brain 2:05
Flesh creature 2:48
Robot 1 3:40
Human with robo suit 5:34
Robo godzilla 6:18
Feather person 7:20
Samurai master 8:32
Final boss weird ninja flesh robot 9:27
I like how the first boss' walking cycle is like an angry crab.
He threw the shuriken on every beat on that mega alien boss theme 💥💥💫my man
A samurai exploding GREAT 0:55
robot, u know
なにあのグロいボス…恐いもの見たさで見てしまう…

There's a lot of ways to beat some of
those boses in easier ways:
The golden ninja on the horse stage: You just need to stay on the left corner and jump above the lances. Wait the ninja to appear from behind and throw a shuriken.
In the first laboratory stage, the jumping brains: just hung on the upper
conveyor belt, it will automatically pull you the left corner, and wait there. The right side brains always dies in the acid, the left side ones will always jump in your direction, just throw a shuriken when they are in the air.
In the surfing boss (the second one, with multiple parts): It is very tricky, but not hard. You can hit all the three forms and the missiles without getting hit using only the air kick. The kick will throw you a bit up so you can chain multiple kicks to evade the missiles (which can be kicked too, without dealing damage to Musashi).
In the Mecha Godzilla stage, you can just stay on his hand, and defend the energy balls with the guard, just holding the button after you throw a shuriken(which is in the exactly weak point range, if you're standing on its hand). Guarding will push you back, but if you keep holding the d-pad in the opposite direction you will move a bit, but enough to stay on his hand and hit it again. Only pay attention to the falling blocks.
In the Garuda boss (the boss of the fallen rocks stage): if you don't have the Powered Up Shurikens like in the video, you just need to crouch in the left corner. When the boss is in the tornado form, just throw a shuriken. When he uses the sword slash, just keep where your are (crouched) and it will not hit you.
In the Byakushishi (the weird hair boss:, the recorder was very lucky, and the boss appeared on the lower level two times in a row (and this is the easier way to hit the boss multiple times). It is a pain to dodge his attacks with the lances popping from the ground. Otherwise, it is more like trial and error.
The Shadow Master boss is actually very easy than it looks. Just guard, really, just guard. The only move he uses that can break your guard is the charged energy ball, which have a very long animation and can be cancelled with 5 shuriken hits (or two from the powered up shuriken). The AI for some reason always tries to throw another energy ball when it is cancelled, what puts the boss in a "hit lock" and you can win easily if you have about to 50 shurikens.
8:21 I remember fighting against him and I was like: "WHAT? I can't believe it I thought I finished him in the first game" and it turns out that he's a double for the true mastermind
At the risk of sounding like a huge nerd, this makes me want to run an AD&D Oriental Adventures campaign :D
Lol same here! I might just have to gather my friends and do it now!
How about that death cry,
NNNEEEEEEEHHHHHH!!!
MECHAGODZILLA AT 6:13
Very Robotic indeed :D
That is mechagodzilla.
God...
Old mechanical designs from this day just, feel so much cooler. I'm all for it lol
The art in this game was really well done. Some of the sprites look almost photorealistic.
I never even heard of this and it looks mad fun
there is a trick to kill the last boss very quickly, take one step back at the opening (his shurikens will miss you) then pummel him with crouching shukien shots (with the POW)
The one of the most amazing games of my childhood. :)
Thanks for that. Never played ninja platformers back in the day. Guess The Messenger brought me here.
Believe me, even on Expert, this game was almost too easy. But.. SO. MUCH. NOSTALGIA.
Only real OG will know this game who played the Genesis and still have it to do this day I should play it again
Nice work!! I always tried the running slash attack he can do. It worked on a good amount of bosses but I always ended up getting hit lol oh well it looked awesome doing it though!
Me too
Jesus that HP Lovecraft looking monster is fuckin terrifying
I love these type of graphic games. Remind my childhood.
Shinobis, Valkirias, metal gears, Cyborg Ninjas, este juego lo tiene todo
Would love to see you finish this game with no daggers, just swords and no damage. :)
I can do that.....and will train to do that again. That'll be a challenge to you :D
You down?
this was the game back in the day, wish they would come out with a new game now
i was 7 when this game came out loved this game.
this game is very fabulous and one of the very favourate which i ever played in my life
those full arcade feels I always got from the Sega Genesis!
I just watched a ninja pogo-stomp a flying vulcan-toting killing machine to death with a jet-powered surfboard. Damn the 90's were awesome!
This game was so hard that I couldn't finish it on the genesis until I played through emulation. Such a good game but difficulty level was insane.
So. The first boss. I discovered that you can dodge his attack wave with a running dash sword attack. It's risky but looks really cool. 😎
One of my favorites. This game is one of the best of my childhood.
20 years ago I can manage to get to the kabuki boss but not the last one. Thanks for giving me a closure 👍🏻
Along with Sonic franchise and Quack Shot, one of my favorite games from Sega Genesis. ^^
Отлично забил всех!
Всё таки интересно смотреть такие видео,даже если сам уже сделал ПБР,я как минимум у трёх боссов узнал интересные фишки)))
С Ниндзя Мастером сильно мучался?
Of all the many playthroughs I've had with game, never knew there was a way to guard, though I never tried to
Easily one of the prettier and most graphically impressive games on Genesis.
Never went past this boss... 7:20
Great move at 6:53. Duck, shoot, jump
2:48
Dat boss! I swear, it was hard to beat!
Used to scare the crap out of me, not cause how it looked, but because my uncles couldn't beat it at the time. Then, They beat and then the next boss after the first boss in the surfing level was the next thing I was afraid of.
The brain monster smells like whenever you fart in bed, put your head under the covers after eating scrambled eggs and onion multiplied by a million.
scrambled eggs and onion
Wow game looks cool no idea how did I never play this
One of the best 16-bit games ever
My childhood right here ✊🏾
Picked up some good boss strats here, thanks!
Sega should make a new Shinobi game.I think it will be successful.
There's a 3DS Shinobi game released in 2011.
Man, how many times you tried to get the no damage in the bosses of this game?! XD
is easy not hard level
i love the background music
Kinda sad I never played this back in the day now. Looks really damn good.
AesculapiusPiranha I had it...and it is every bit as awesome as it looks
i think this time for the reboot they can have official permission for cameos of those one characters right?
2:50 shit like that could’ve easily given me nightmares as a kid.
You should start putting the boss names
my favorite shinobi game dude and your boss run was awsome
The last boss is awesome, I would choose him to play instead of Shinobi, their mechanics is quite close.
SURFING NINJA! because the 90's.
The 2:49 boss is flexible enough, the thing could be on Contra, Splatterhouse or Castlevania
Here I am.. 30 years later reminiscing the good old days..
2:49 - Years later... in other game
*Sees Sigma in his 2nd form from Megaman X6*
Player: Why I saw this before???
Except Hydra is a bio form and not a terminator ripoff.
*Remembers that Terminator was in the first Shinobi game*
WELL SHIT
2:49 That doesn't even look like an Hydra D:
Vartholome .............hail hydra
reminds me of akira
Vartholome
It looks like a fucking failed clone of Mother Brain.
Strider Hiryu or a Iron Man in a footballer ninja armor suit? The armor, the unstoppable trucking of a football star, and uncanny unmatched ninja attributes vs a future ninja with a sword that can literally cut through Iron Man's standard level armors like a hot knife can butter...
This was one of my favorite games growing up!
That final boss background giving me some Giygas vibes
