In my opinion, the old version was better, but the bigger question is why the video was deleted, where the TR was shown, your level, and in general, is it worth expecting? The level looks very cool, it will be a pity if it does not come out.
Hey, man. I’ll try to answer your questions as best as I can: I updated Hydraulic Overdrive because I have become more and more dissatisfied with the level. I’m actually surprised that you find the old version better because I couldn’t disagree more; I think that the updated version is much better, but that’s simply my opinion. I removed some annoying gameplay, darkened the level, and added layers to the design and air decoration. Regarding TR, as I’ve explained to some other people, my PC is not strong enough to combine the three sections of the level on which I was building (all three parts combined amount to +480k objects). Trust me, I’ve tried too many times, but it just keeps crashing on me. It has been frustrating for me. To circumvent this problem, I asked Akira Kurisu to combine the level parts for me back in October. And for the most part, he/she did combine the parts and optimize the level. It was looking so good, until... I think that you know what happened with that player? In late November this person was ousted as a child predator and deleted all forms of social media. Discord, everything, was deleted... and for that reason, I couldn’t contact this person to reobtain the complete level. Alas, I have been at a deadlock with the level since November. It’s a shame because I started the project in 2017 having spent hours upon hour building it, and I’m stuck with something stupid like this. With rising GPU and CPU prices, demand, and scarcity, I don’t see myself upgrading my PC any time soon to complete this level. Thanks for your concerns! And if you read this far, thank you. TL;DR: Once I upgrade my PC, the level will be finished and verified.
