The Daytona is 12.5mm thick the movement alone costs more than the price of the hole Seiko :) remember the base movement in the Seiko is about £40 they then upgrade the mainspring and add a chrono piggyback module on top of it , Were as the Rolex Calibre 4130 is designed from day one to be a chrono and at no cost restrictions and so is like comparing a super car to a mid level VW , So lets look at the goto chrono of the watch world the Valjoux 7750 which is used by most companies like IWC Sinn Tag and so on and most of these come in at around 15mm Sir
Absolutely not a fan of mechanical/analog chronos (always say any cheap digit can kill'em in millisecs...!😋) but this one is awesome looking, clean and elegant. Still, 42mm on a white dial will look even bigger and those 15mm+ in thickness make it a NO-NO! Pity, cause the dial is like a medical instrument of some kind or a pressure meter... Ah, another LE by Seiko (ya don't say 😄). Good find though and review. Be well, cheers. PS I'm sure you know there is a channel like yours (one word), the amazing lad making the Antikythera Mechanism look like a toy anyone can remake... with tools of that era!
It is thick for sure Gren but there are many watches as thick which you wouldnt think are like the 40mm Rolex SD4k , Sinn EZM1 , Panerai 177 are all 15mm also
The same as the Hamilton Intra-Matic chrono. I tried that on and it felt massive, but this one sits much better on the wrist, maybe because of the lugs.
Thanks for showing the leather strap!!
No worries Sir sometimes reviews forget to show what else comes with the model
1:40 The Daytona is also a chrono and its only 12mm thick.

I want one… but I’m not sure I’d wear it much
I get that to myself Baron there are so many watches I'd like but would I wear as much as I should 🤔
