Love the dial. Overall design? Hmm.
Only 38mm so I'm guess to small for you matey
Hi Barry, I absolutely agree with you. This is a fine looking and really versatile watch. If the movements can be regulated before sale it would be even better. LG Bob 🍻
Get it sent to me first Bob 👍🏻
I have the salmon dial version, beautiful watch.
Cool I think its a gorgeous model
I thought travelers and true were the same, and office and caller were the same. Is that not the case?
To be fair I get confused which is which myself lol
Apparently they have an 856 RS model now with a red seconds hand, which should look pretty cool too.
You are right I forgot about the RS model
such a clean skin diver inspired design
Your right it doesn't get much cleaner than these
Usual thorough review. Do I like this one? Absolutely. A little small for me, but a good looking watch. I much prefer its classical look to the fussiness of the 65 heritage. Having the minute markers all the way round the bezel on the original is actually better for diving, but who actives with these things now?! 🤣
You are and I guess but the same can be said for these automatic watches but we still love them :)
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!MAMACOO
Pity it doesn’t come on a deployant.
True but I won't say its a deal breaker
It's a 'nice' watch, but it's a bit vanilla and unexciting and so would probably bore me after a while. The original had some character about it.
Yeah I know what you mean its a safe bet type of watch, nothing wrong with it but its not a stand out piece
A beauty - I hunted for one for a long time, got one but it's no where as nice as yours. Well done!
Cheers Anthony but unfortunately I let this one go a few years back now, I do miss it
I bought the first one, on discount, love at first sight. Every other iteration that got rid of the retro dial, has just felt sterile and cold.
I do feel they nailed it with the first model
I own this watch. It is both clean and elegant in the design and refined in detail. The movement is precise and meticulous, plus it is manufactured in house, thus every step in the production is qualified to high standards. However to me after utility, the look and feel is wonderful.
Its a good looking model and I'm glad your happy Paul
In Toronto canada I buy a super super clone I bring it to a rolex expert he say it was real rolex . Unbelievable. Your super clone look just like mine. You a expert but a regular person like me will never know. Imagine on AMZWATCH
Love the Baby Tuna with the penguin feet on the dial. The grey strap that it came with is super comfortable. Often my other watches borrow the strap. The only thing is that the crown is to short for men’s fingers. I wish it was bigger.
The Baby Tuna my wife loves its her favourite watch followed by the Black Solar model, you are right about the strap its really fixable and comfortable
I would take the old school model. It's not even close.
Yeah me to, they really got this one right
I love Sinn but dont like Red, that really limits the options ha ha. I like this one
This one was a lot better than I thought it would be, The press photos just didn't do it justice
I had the old one exactly the same as you. Should've never sold it.
Ive a few watches like that myself 🤦🏻♂️
Lovely case design, very similar to Scalloped Seiko’s . The stadium dial chapter ring comes with the height of the pinion accommodating the GMT hand . 60 click indicates appreciably better tolerances than a 120 . Great review, thanks;)
Cheers Erich the movement is only 3mm the hand stack is another 3mm I'm guessing, 60 click you can have a deeper cut in the bezel as you say this allows for a more defined click
Got you , thanks
This may be the first overview of the new Diver 65 that at least partly answers my most crucial question about it: is the lume on it as terrible as on the older model? The answer seems to be no. On the photos it looked the same on the hands and on the indices. Well done Oris for finally figuring it out :) Generally I'm warming to the new iteration, especially the blue dial shown here. They hit the nail on the head with the slightly smaller size, the reduction of lug-to-lug distance is most welcome. That said, I don't think I'll trade my bronze bezel one for this, unless they also put the bronze bezel on the new one :) That pop of color is just so cool, I'm willing to overlook the clearly inferior technical spec of my model compared to this.
I don't mind the lume myself as long as I can see the time all the way though the night if I wake up I'm happy Sir, The lug to lug distance is only half a millimetre different to the OG, I'm not keen on a 19mm bracelet as most of my straps are either 20/22 or 24 but saying that my one stays on it bracket 99% of the time :)
I hate the polished sides of the bracelet, but other than that I love the new design
Yeah that just doesn't work for me they should of left it bushed with just the outer sides polished maybe
Out of stock already!
Bugger I just reviewed the Le blue dial 903 model earlier today as FCW has one of the very last ones available if you fancied that one , it maybe your last chance
New version is just boring for me and looks like dozens of other skin diver watches-Vulcain,Aquastar to name a few.Older one was my favourite with the nice looking printed squary indices, but Im a fan of such.Myself having Super Sea Wolf Skin in blue with minty triangle applied indices.
Cool I used to have the Super Sea Wolf Anniversary model but sold it 🤦🏻♂️
The old version is so unique. It was a great reissue.
Yes very much so I don't believe they ever better it
Nice one... I love both of these.... It would kill me to choose between them.
For my Anthony it would always be the OG
Oris were always one to push against the norm and make some interesting watches for hardcore watch nerds but let’s face it- we love them but never bought them in big numbers so their latest offerings are sterile, safe and boring to appeal to the most people which means they’ll sell in bucketloads- as long as they keep doing the interesting stuff WE all love it’ll be fine 😅
My only problem with Oris is their in house Cal 400 as you can also get a 40mm 65 diver with it in but its a little over £3k, I hope they carry on making the SW200 models otherwise they could price them selfs out of the market,
Having a hard time deciding between the 856 and the 556 i rs. It would be perfect for me if the 856 had the red second hand. In regards to the movement between the 556 and the 856 what are the differences ? P.S Great video explaining the 856.
Hi Sir good question the SW200 (ETA2824) has 38 hours of power and is solid it's only downside is it doesn't like to be over hand wound, the SW300 (ETA2892) is a step up it has 56 hours of power and a super smooth hand winding and is a slimmer movement but both models have the same accuracy, Maybe at a later date I'll get the two movements together and show this mire in detail ps the SW300 costs over double the price of the 200 model
@ClickSpringReview In Australia, the Sinn 556 is $1895 AUD or $1723 AUD for international buyers. The 856 is $3100 AUD or $2818 AUD for international buyers. The reason for the higher price in Australia is GST = VAT. There is a $1200AUD difference between the 556 and the 856, and after watching your video, I fully understand the difference between the two.
Glad to of helped Sir
I was thinking of getting rid of mine as i just wasn't wearing it as I was always wearing one of my other's, but it just has such a distinctive look and I know I'd regret it if I sold it on. 😊👍🏻
I thought the same, every so often another watch will come up for sale and it gets me thinking if I sold this lol, but when I wear it I really do enjoy it
Exactly, I find when I put a particular watch on after having not worn it in a few months, it's like that new watch feeling I get and realise how much I still appreciate it. One youtuber said if you fall out of love or get bored with a watch, just put it away in the loft because if you sell it then you might have that sellers regret lol. I don't think I'll be putting my 65 in the loft though 😅
Yeah I can what he means I hadn't wore mine for almost 3 months but wearing it now I couldn't imagine selling it :)
Panerai doesnt have bezel as well..
Some Panerai's have a dives rotatable bezel Sir
The new one is on my list
Which colour are you thinking of getting ?
@ClickSpringReview i think i would go for the black one
Safe bet 👍🏻
I just can't comprehend that the glass is acrylic 😂😂😂 what a joke
Why ? If you buy a new Omega Speedmaster it’s acrylic what’s the problem
@ClickSpringReview the watch is amazing. I love the design and movement but my opinion is that acrylic glass should be in 20$ watches only. They scratch extremely easy, yes you can polish but not too many times and it's just an extra headache for it..
Some people prefer acrylic crystal believe it or not
Too boring, too expensive and 19mm. Nope.
I found when I first started collecting watches I wanted all the bells and whistles but now I just want quality models where less is more
@ClickSpringReview I totally agree, having Tudor Ranger. However, in this case, less is less, in my opinion.
I've never got on with the Ranger myself I think its the hands, I've always preferred the Sinn 556 at 38.5mm or even the 65, But we all like different models and thats what keeps things interesting 👍🏻
@@ClickSpringReview I wanted the 556 for 2 years. I finally bought it, and as great as the expectation, so great the disappointment. The clasp drove me crazy as it was very difficult for me to adjust it to fit exactly, the lume was terrible (I have the 104 today with a significantly better lume) and the short hands just drove me crazy. Also, surprisingly, when the minute hand was at 12, the hour hand wasn't exactly on the hour and my OCD didn't handle that well LOL. A beautiful watch with more flaws than I expected. The ranger is simple but boy I love it. The best bracelet I've handled and it's so comfortable overall.
Thats a real shame chap I've always been lucky myself but understand where you're coming from there , I have the new clasp on the 556 but I'm really not a fan. 👍🏻
I'm rocking the OG numeral bico (black with the sunburst royal blue). It's so good, it's my daily.
I remember that one 😎 ps I'm wearing mine also
It’s my current dream watch and this video confirmed it. I definitely like the improvements, mostly dimension-wise, over the Sixty-Five. It looks so elegant and retro.
Which colour would you go for ?
@ I’m really torn between blue and black. Which do you think is more dynamic and suits the design of the watch best? My AD is offering it to me for $2300-which is $400 less than MSRP. Is it worth it? This or a Black Bay 54?
I think the black model is one out of the two to go for and as for the price I'm sure you could get even more of than that
@@ClickSpringReview That's great feedback. I'm not in a rush, so I can wait for the dust to settle to get more of a discount. The black really is so classy and was the first color I saw-which really took my breath away. It truly is the Black Bay I have dreamt about (I sold my Black Bay GMT as it had too many shortcomings, mostly related to its enormous size).
@ how do you feel about the Divers Date vs. the Black Bay 54? Which would you go with?!
I love the dial configuration and the full black bezel of the first iteration but much prefer the sizing of the latest one. The case of the first one also looks a bit cooler regarding the proportions of the case vs bezel and crystal. I had intended to buy the “original” one and had the opportunity to do so a few months ago, but looked a bit too big on my 7 inch wrist, especially with that dial which actually makes the watch wear bigger. Hope they reissue that dial on the new 39mm case eventually.
They do make a 40mm model with their in house cal 400 but it cost another £1k more 01 400 7772 4054-07 8 20 18
Yep I am with the old school version, but I would love ORIS to release a 65 Diver with their Caliber 400 - now that would be awesome 👏
They have Bruce but its 40mm and not 39 and has the new style dial and cost another grand more
I ordered a new (old stock) Heritage 65 model, then days later came across the (very) new Diver Date. I instantly questioned my purchase, as the new Diver Date is absolutely exquisite - I hope they sell a bundle of them. Upon returning home, I picked up my new watch - it is beautiful and fits my wrist wonderfully. Of course my Heritage 65 cost much less (about $1400) than the new Diver Date, which makes me feel as though I got a good deal, however the new model is absolutely gorgeous - give it a try.
You can't go wrong with either model, I myself prefer the OG there are so many little things like the crystal and bracelet size dial and even the thicker hands of the old one I just love
@ there’s plenty to like with either, and so many others. I suppose that’s why it’s known as collecting. 😉
yep exactly Pete
This watch is fabulous. I love the blue and I love the creamy white. The issue here is how they get the movement to perform, you are talking about £2000 and Oris need to get on board with the idea that at this price you need to have the word chronometer - this is really not a big ask. I’ve no doubt that they will be getting a lot out of that movement. my impression is this piece is right on the boundary of Swiss made, but that’s okay and nothing wrong with Sellita.
This one is running within COSC spec's Robert and my one is to, and was even before I serviced it myself earlier this year now it is running at +1.5s. I do think Oris regulate this one really well
@ I like them although I don’t own one. I understand they are a really good company who actually care about their customers. The colours on this new model are fantastic but I do understand some of the criticism and it’s obviously a model designed to nibble at a certain price point below one or two other very popular brands . (Tudor)
Hi Barry, I'm going to buck the trend here because I prefer the new model. The older dial is too busy for my taste, and the new watch is actually far more capable than the older model. LG Bob 🍻
Bold words Bob 😁😁😁 👍🏻
There is a different version of the older dial that has the same layout as the new one. That would be a stronger apples-to-apples comparison.
Thats true its just as I had it in for review and happen to own the OG model thought it would be good to see them side by side
@ClickSpringReview It was a good plan, Barry... New is not necessarily better... 🍻
The only improved aspects of this new model are the size and proportions. The materials and finishing of this new model seem too modern, clinical, and glossy for the supposed vintage style and size of this watch. It’s missing the organic charm of the D65.
The newer model is a little slimmer but at the cost of the gorgeous crystal though , They just hut the nail on the head with the older model
@@ClickSpringReviewI agree, they did a few things right with the new one, but for me, the romance is gone.
So funny that you posted this comparison Barry as I just picked up a used but mint full set Heritage Diver 65 - same as yours but on the tropic strap and I was searching for a good example for ages. As you say, much harder to come by now. I definitely prefer the OG, but as a 2 watch collection, I can see the new model being popular, especially with the display case-back and bracelet updates. I still prefer the dial (especially that cool 60's font on the indices) and bulbus crystal on the Heritage model though. Nothing can beat that look. Great review as always.
Cool and well done its sure to be a future classic, I serviced my 65 last year, I'd love to fit the display case-back it as I'm sure it would fit ps thanks :)
@ClickSpringReview Please post a quick video or short if you do decide to fit the display back. It would look great.
@@Bennie_Bee6 I'd love to but unfortunately I cant see them selling me one :(
I definitely prefer the size & design commitment of the old 65. I updated my 65 to a CAL400 model about 18 months ago, got it on the grey market for £2K. The RRP of the new model feels poor value by comparison.
Great price for a cal400 model.
I've not played with the 65 Calibre 400 yet but feel I should 🤔
Thanks for this…new style is better on paper and in many other ways but that old dial is still class
They just got it so right with the older model, not that there is anything wrong with the new model per say its a good watch but the old one is a great watch
Why do brands keep insisting on the SW200, the SW300 is a far better movement :)
It’s the price the SW300 cost almost 3x the price of the SW200
Especially at 2500€ price🙃
The Sinn U50 is 2,500€ and comes with the SW300 where as my Breitling Colt cost over €3K 5 years ago comes with a ETA 2824 (SW200). The Sinn sounds like a bargain 👍🏻 Honestly the SW200 (ETA2824) is a great a solid movement and I'd say much better than the high end Seiko 8L fitted in the MM300 range of watches which cost 3,000 euros
I have this watch. Strap is dreadful but the watch itself is absolutely marvellous. +5 per day over last 8 years and 4hz sweep......think newer ceramic one is 3.5. Criminally underrated brand. Enjoyed vid. Bestwishes from North of the wall
This is an old video and one of my first ones to be fair, I agree with you in regards to the 4hz side of things but when it comes to underrated I really wouldn't say that they have so much coverage on the net I must of reviewed a load myself PS being 8 years old I'd say yours is coming up for a service Sir
@ClickSpringReview ha! Aye, it was serviced 4 Years ago by longines. I rotate with a Glashutte Original and n Tudor black bay. The GO servicing is heavy on the wallet.
The Longines is a ETA 2824 as I remember so at are place would cost £225 👍🏻
Team old school 🤩
100% 👍🏻
I have a weird thing with Oris, Longines and Omega. I know they're good quality time pieces and I know that by popular opinion I'm supposed to like them. Barring a couple of models (the Longines VHP springs to mind) I don't like them. Is it something I'm missing? I'm not blinkered to a few watch brands either
I do understand what you mean, Mr Papa, but I rather like this model.
@@robertlock6041 I get that, it seems completely normal to like them. It's just odd how I feel I'm "supposed" to like may watches that I don't. I'm on what is probably the largest non specific brand FB group. I can't get behind these few brands though. Hamilton is the same for me, but i do have an exception with the E. T. O, Which I love
Nothing wrong with that @PapaGoodness_47 Ps I feel the same way with regards to Hamilton and also Doxa but don't tell anyone ;)
I owned the original at one time and it blows away these more generic designs. I didn't realize there were so many differences in the case and crystal but I'm still a bigger fan of the OG.
Agree completely. The Heritage model is superb.
There is just something so right with the OG I'm wearing it as I type and love it
@ClickSpringReview yep. Wearing mine too. Awsome watch. I've even contacted my AD to try and source me the OEM bracelet.... Faux Rivets and all!
Fingers crossed for you chap ps if you need it servicing let my know
The dial of the OG model just blows it out of the water imo
I'm with you on that one John 👍🏻
