More Chrono Goodness from LONGINES: ruclips.net/video/eTxrKA4BBa0/видео.html
The First Zenith was release in SEPTEMBER 1969!!!! That is 9 months AFTER Seiko! Zenith was actually 3rd to market I hear!
So the name Zenith EL Primero should have been called the *Zeith El Tercero* which BTW Sounds WAYYYY BETTER! -Falling

Hamilton and tag also dropped a auto chronograph around the same time. My understanding that all 3 of those manufacturers teamed up to make it. I believe it was called the Hamilton intramatic This is something I heard, I’m definitely not an expert.

I got this watch recently.. its very accurate running mine daily +4sec per day. it doesnt wear much chunky as it looks on wrist. its good my wrist size 7.25" flat. fitting very well. only one problem with this watch is, no micro adjustment as it doesnt have regular claps . and not so secure it may open by itself any drop watch or someone steal and runaway with motorbike. and very hard to find perfect fit as you need to remove and attach back many of those half link full links. :) thats only negative part for this watch

You must bear in mind that all manufacturers are at the mercy of the courier no matter how carefully they are set up. I experienced this myself after I sold an Omega Seamaster that was staying well within 3 seconds a day. The buyer emailed me a few days later to tell me it was gaining more than a minute a day. I wrapped that watch up like a baby but DHL still managed to bugger it. I took it back and he was right. It worked out OK for me because I regretted selling it anyway but I never was able to get it as accurate as it once was.

Brilliant macro shots as usual FT and a good concise review. OK this is a tall watch but many mechanical chronographs are tall. For a modular design with a vertical clutch and column wheel this is actually quite an achievement by Seiko. The design of the side profile is a tad sub par though, Seiko know how to make great cases but this one looks a little like a bucket. Some slight bevelling and polishing and some sculpturing to the lugs could have made this look so much better. Positives? The date at the 6 position and the easily readable dial are great. Seiko should be congratulated on keeping the pusher and crown centre planes very close as usually modular designs have the pusher centres off set from the crown that is very easy to see. Take a TAG Monaco calibre 12 for example.

  • @turnbasedtoddy7664

I just don’t understand Seiko. That watch looks amazing until you turn it on its side and it’s as tall as a house. Also a 6R base movement for $3200 is just inconceivable. I actually really like the quartz ones that came out, but this one is a big let down to me.

Honestly I think people are overstating the thickness for the price range of the Chrono. The Hamilton Intra Matic is less than half a mm thinner, same with the Tudor Black Bay Chrono. And this one has a column wheel like the Tudor (the Hamilton does not).
