  • 1. The change affects very old PCs
    2. Remember unsupported rules can change at anytime
    3. Any new PC good for Windows 11 should be good to go for years

    Hey Gilles, I've watched a few of your videos lately, keep up the good work. Just wanted to say I'm glad you're still there doing your thing. Stay well buddy :)
    Edit: Still on Win 10, although PC supports Win 11 !!!

    Thank you buddy for clearing that up again about the CPU instructions not being able to get around it. Since it’s in the CPU itself. And because Microsoft is only supporting those instructions sets now I understand why you can’t get around it. Even if I don’t like it, I understand it. But I think most of my machines should be OK. Anyway, I have a sort of idea of what Microsoft next requirement might be, but I’m not going to share it here because what if there’s someone listening who might like the idea. But I have an idea of what it might be next. And is it a good thing or a bad thing? Well, it depends on how many people are using Older machines. So I guess we’ll just have to wait-and-see. Remember, the acronym FUD fear, uncertainty, and doubt. First were worried about what the requirements are going to do. Then we’re uncertain, if there’s a workaround or something exactly what’s gonna happen and then it’s the doubt how long will Microsoft support this thing? We have our doubts. So FUD fear uncertainty, and doubt. That’s something I read or learned somewhere a while back. Anyway, buddy, you take care and have a wonderful day. You’re something you should do in a future video. I would be happy to help you in this. But an update on how you think I know what I think, but I’d be curious to hear your opinion, on how these Microsoft changes are going to affect users that use access technology like myself. We the accessible technology users are very small portion of computer users, but we use computers just like everyone else if we can. Also, if you wouldn’t mind, I’m sure people have this, but since I’m relatively new to this channel within a couple months of me, commenting, if there’s a way you could leave your contact information, that would be real helpful. Either in a separate quick video or someway. I generally listen to the windows videos regarding Windows 10 and Windows 11. Since I don’t use chrome stuff, but thanks for covering all of it anyway. It would be neat to be able to contact you. I’m sure people do but I don’t know how. Or maybe you choose not to because then you don’t want to be burdened by tons and tons of emails. Anyway, I do use the screen reader so I’d have to figure out a way to get that information excessively. Then I can share a bit of my excess technology stuff. And then maybe you could do a short video on that if you’re interested. Thank you. Have a nice day.

    Old enough to remember the Windows Vista nightmare.
    Pc and laptop with Vista loved to make life interesting: I had some fun helping friends.
    I will skip Windows 11 , Windows 10 is my last Microsoft OS so far, next stop back to some kind of Linux Chromeos, Ubuntu whatever but not Windows)

    I run my DSD Plus on my spare Toshiba laptop from late 2011. It is a P755-S5390 With an Intel I7 processor
    with 8 gb of ram.I did run into a very interesting problem though. WIFI was not too secure back then. With that said I have to use this computer with a wired connection only. Because 30 seconds after I turn on its old 2.4 Ghz WIFI I get a Blue This machine ran into an error an must shut down. However WIFI on this computer works fine with the original windows 7 disks also works with 10.I will tell you this problem took a while to figure out because when installing on this unsupported computer it would only crash when it got to the network connection near the very end of the installation. Good Day from NH.

    I have an interesting question. Why is a hard drive or SSD never exactly 1TB and so on? My SSD is 1TB however it’s never exactly 1TB even when all partitions and everything is deleted?

    • @frankenstein71
      @frankenstein71 5 месяцев назад +5

      The discrepancy between the advertised capacity of a storage device, such as a hard drive or SSD, and the actual usable capacity you see in your operating system is due to the difference in the way storage capacity is measured by manufacturers and how it's interpreted by the operating system.

      @@frankenstein71 it’s crazy because 1TB should mean 1TB. Manufacturers need to actually provide what they say otherwise it’s misleading

    • @artomontonen3722
      @artomontonen3722 5 месяцев назад +3

      Disk manufacturers use the number 1000, but the operating system has always used the number 1024. 1024MB = 1TB and 1000 is only 976.65625MB. This is the reason why the size of memory sticks is 16, 32, 128, 256, 512 and 1024.

    my computer straith out of steams system information:
    - AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-Core Processor
    - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
    - RAM: 31899 Mb
    - Model: MS-7E12 (thats my mainbord i think)
    - Windows 10 (64 bit) (i debloated windows 10 so its pretty much like windows 7 0 "online" stuff on my OS)
    i would still use Windows 7 over everything else, if steam wasnt such a shit show. i will never buy windows 11 that tries to install even more spyware and forces updates on you that you never agreed to install to beginn with. i dont even use a antivirus software, i removed the windows defender by hand and made a boot usb stick so i never have to redo that shit again. but for ppl using windows 11 im sorry that you got forced this shit on you, i remain on (sadly) windows 10.
