#ExplainingAnimation Кино
So much hardwork put into traditional Animation. I prefer traditional animation to the 2D animation of today
I make my own story’s I create my own storyboards, screenplays after and then character design through sketch ... I don’t generally know any 2D animation apps that has that realistic touch like Disney artist and behind the scenes crew who actually make these characters come to life.
Disney uses toon boom for most of their stuff but it's really just the skill and amount of people working on it
thanks you so much for this, my project was so easy thanks to you!☺
You're welcome, happy to know that it helped!
Traditional animation is almost becoming extinct in America because of computer animation while other countries outside America like Europe and Japan
one reason is that its cheaper
@@ActingOutVA Cheaper, quicker, more manageable, streamlined workflow, less materials needed, can be done outside of a studio, basically better in every way.
@@100acatfishandwillbreakyou2 yes
@@100acatfishandwillbreakyou2 It’s not really “better” it’s just cheaper. You’re trading quality for the easiness.
@@booboobunny5655 It really is better, and unless you really know what you're talking about, I wouldn't start using the word "quality" when comparing the mediums.
Thx so much for this video! I actually want to make a short little animation traditionally and this helps me see all the steps in the process. I love the classic Disney and Don bluth kind of animation
You're welcome!!! Happy you found it helpful and hope making your animation goes well!
Hard to believe Walt Disney, Leon Schlesinger, Fleischer Studios and Walter Lantz used to pump this sorta stuff out
Congratulations, you're the first channel I decided to like, subscribe and hit the notification button for all content. I'm looking to make a living out of animation as I feel my imagination is unparalle to any that has been seen before. I hope this channel is still going. Peace ✌
Bit late to reply because this comment was in spam for some reason. Thanks for your support and wishing you all the best in your animation career! I am still uploading content, mostly movie reviews as the moment but more of this style of video is coming in the future.
thank you your lifesaver my man
Absolutely fucking beautiful
If they bring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs animated prequel called Dwarfs I hope it can be traditional animation with hand paint with ennard and then when you get to finish of it wouldn't they wouldn't have to fix the animation on the computer will just be edit after like it when they put scenes together.
Just came back to this video to add in timestamps, please don't mind the editing error in this video, I'm a lot better nowadays 😆
Just wondering have you already done a video on 2D animation and explaining exactly what that is compared to traditional? Thanks
Sort of, one of my early videos was about the 5 different types of animation: ruclips.net/video/8YdFnPOnx2A/видео.html
I could NOT pay attention to this guy until I sped it up to 2x the normal speed. Much better... :))))
That was interesting, I'm surprised you don't have more subs.
Thanks! The channel's still relatively new but it is growing :).
Not me thinking I can do this alone
tell us about picture quality? disney quality is good in 2d what they do for it ..is there any type of picture qualities
I'm not sure what you mean. Disney has had some great artists working for them which is why their designs and environments look great. If you're talking about the actual image resolution and clarity, it's just a case of using a good quality camera with good lighting.
But how do they get the drawings on to the cells, while retaining the same style as the background?
It's hard to draw with water colors directly on the cell, and acrylics behave differently on plastic than on paper.
Or if I want my characters to be crayon drawings like the background? How would I transfer that on to the celluloid?
Well first they draw a sketch on a piece of paper and then they place a cel on the piece of paper and ink over the papers drawing to get it.
And then they carefully paint on the cell
For the background they have the background on a different layer and they place the cel over the painted background and put glass over the cel and take a picture with the rostrum cameta
Also an actual question: can you reuse a clear sheet/ are they expensive
My question does backgrounds came from storyboard first before it was painted by background artist?
I thought it was done after the acme hole puncher... Now I gotta find a fricken clear sheet!?!?
What's your background in animation? Do you just enjoy it or do you want to be (or are you already) ab animator? Would love to know the sorts of people that are watching this video!
MovieMation I'm self taught and a student animator, as for my background I'm more in the character design field but I prefer to work more on my storyboarding skills.
I do want to have a career in animation but I know I'm gonna have to do some independent work so I can build that demo reel
That's great, nice to meet you! I'm mostly self taught with what I do too :).
I'm mostly self taught, but I do look at tutorials every now and then. traditional animation is the thing I need to do! pencil + paper + light table = my stuff!
The sad thing is I don't think many animation studio's are working on traditional, so I guess I'd just have to start my own. expensive tho
That's not my process, but good info.
I’m here simply because I miss hand drawn animation. I’ve always preferred it.
Your underrated I think 😇
Thanks :)
Dude mention sheila graber's name
I was going to say that I mentioned her in the description but I just noticed that I forgot to put that in, I'll get it done later on today. Good point though I probably should have put up the source names within the video.
I have now put all of the sources that I used in the description, sorry for not doing this earlier and thanks for letting me know that they weren't in there.
i prefer the traditional way of animating
Same, it's way more visually appealing to me to when it's done well.
Basicly basicly basicly basicly.
Haha yeah I have tried to improve that in my more recent videos, I still have to edit a lot of them out of videos though
Animation in the thumbnail is NOT CEL ANIAMTUON
Too much flash animation hurts my brain
You pronounced gouache wrong it’s not gu-watch-ee it’s gwash
oh ok, sorry I don't always get pronunciations right.
MovieMation that’s fine I just thought you might want to know
i Lol’d . Never heard someone mispronounce it like that
I'm gonna sub to you when this stupid 503 stops
Thanks!
You picked as examples two of the WORST animated movies Disney EVER did: Treasure Planet & Brother Bear. That shows a lack of knowledge of American animated film history. EVERYONE here in California knows it, but clearly you do not.
