For info, and not criticism: all the F-18 control surfaces droop with no hydraulics applied, due to gravity. The Leading Edge Flaps (LEFs), not so much because they’re not too wide, but the inner TEFs and elevators droop a great deal. The wing-fold mechanism is unable to be engaged unless the outer Trailing Edge Flap (TEF, or flaperon) is in the faired position. It’s pointless to run the engine to move the outer TEF (unless you’re on a carrier, I guess) and hooking up an external hyd-cart is a fair bit of work. So the TEFs are generally raised by manually pushing them up to the streamlined position...A fair bit of exertion required, really. Once faired, the electric wing-fold motor will drive if the switch is held on (you can stop them anywhere between zero and ninety degrees) but once they’re up, gravity won’t move the TEF out of the faired position, and they’re hydraulically isolated as soon as the wing-fold motor engages. So, the outer wing won’t have an un-faired TEF whilst raised, unless manually heaved. But then you’ll have to slipstream it again to over-ride the wing fold interlock to lower it again, so you probably won’t move it anyway.
But you can’t be expected to know any of this unless someone informs you.
    A good video- very informative.

I'm impressed with the aerodynamic accuracy with this model. I have a tu-134 zvezda that I made flaps for out of scratch. Very hesitant to do any more work on it till I practice on more models.

Sir, I must say you use a lot of foul "F" words in your video, which is not good, so please refrain from using them in future video builds. Thank you.

On the contrary; Doog, I must say that you use very few foul "F" words in your video, which is not good, so please I encourage you to use a HELL OF A LOT more in future video builds. Ya hear? (Where do these people live in, a Tupperware?)
