Make sure to check out Part 2 of the shed build series, where I built the roof, shed doors, and the shed ramp! ruclips.net/video/CSuwx3Q8ghw/видео.html
YES!!! I've watched several "how to build a shed" videos!! This is GREAT! Very helpful! And so simple. The foundation and the roof are my biggest worries, and you explained those really simply! Thank you!
How did you know I've been thinking about building a shed? Seriously, this is a great video on building a shed! No detail left out, and I'm looking forward to part 2 so I have a template on how to build a shed just like this. Great video, Johnny!
Thank you Ryan for releasing a great product as this [ Check Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. Most of the plans I have imagined in my mind are put down on your woodworking plans. This is more like a genius job. I love it!?
Should you use treated wood for the base? How do you keep critters from moving in under your shed? Do you need the air ventaliation? Should you screen it?
I enjoyed your build and thought you were thorough and very good at explaining each step. I would use pressure treated for the skids as they appear to have some ground contact. In our area termites will find that wood very quickly. Also, we have clay soils which move quite a bit with changes in moisture content. A slightly deeper foundation dig might help. Having said that, small sheds are still use-able even if they move! Thanks for your great video!
I built a shed with these plans from Ryan [ Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ] . The instructions were clear and easy to implement. Even a novice can be able to build fast using this plan. I'm happy I bought the plan. It also saved me much cost.
Great looking work..I would add some type of barrier to bottom sides of floor joists that conact earth! eliminating a pocket that small animals love to use as there home, rats, mice, squirrels, racoons, skunks! PS I learned the hard way, and had a heck of a time collecting RENT! LOL
Looks great! The overhang at the bottom of the side panel is preferred to help lock the walls to the floor and keep water from seeping in at the bottom.
I just bought a wood and shed with the same dimensions. 4’ x 8’. Does it get really hot in there during the summertime? I’m thinking about insulating it because I want to keep it at least a decent temperature.
Frig yeah buddy. Looking forward to part two. Been mulling over buying a rubbermaid or building one. This is actually real close to what I was wanting. Subscribed and standing by.
Love the castle joint idea. Did you add the central leg under the bed because you're working with softwood or because the castle joints require added reinforcements?
Hey - do you know mind sharing the total cost you spent on the materials for the shed? (Excluding the tools - just lumbar, nails, paint, etc...) and how long did it take you in total? thanks! The video looks great - i am trying to determine if buying a DIY kit may be less hassle to get all the lumbar and cutting it myself. thanks
Process of thinking the same! Did you find out in your area is it cheaper to build or buy? I shop around and for me it’s about $2000 to buy a kit. I already have all the tools needed so it’s just all material costs for me plus the experience I may gain from it could be worth while.
Looked & didn't see my question, so why didn't you put plastic/tarp under your shed before you dropped your plywood floor? Thanx. To me that would help with humidity.
I'm about to build almost identical shed on my house. Similar location, only difference is that I have the door at the end. I'm waiting on town approval for the structure, so hopefully will happen soon. After watching your video, I decided to move my out further from the house.
I'm building a 4x6 just like this. How far away from the foundation did you put your closest skid? Do you think 1 foot away is enough to still have room when attaching the fascia board in the back?
Thanks, this was a great help... I hope to build an 8x8 with pent roof front 7' rear 6' (?)... not too sure what angle that makes it. Guess I'll just rest one of the frame pieces on top, and draw a line perpendicular down each side of the supporting posts, and mark it out in situ... How far should each roof support extend from the frame?
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out backyard storage sheds plans try *WoodBlueprints. Com* Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
that shed is roughly a ton or more depending on what's stored inside. Not enough overall wall dimension for strong winds to move it. Unless it's a tornado it should be fine.
Depending on where you live you just can't build a shed on your property for this very reason. I live in florida and even sheds have to be built to withstand 150 mph winds so extra rafter anchoring and hurricane straps are legally necessary so you aren't building a 1 ton missile come hurricane season.
So how do you decide to build the shed on sleds or concrete footings? Is one stronger over another? I don't want to pour a slab but I'm making a 12'x20' shed for my woodshop in the backyard.
Your shed looks great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I built an 8x10 shed for my kids in my backyard earlier this year using plans I got from *WoodBlueprints. Com* Clear directions and an accurate materials list...It was great for a novice builder like myself!
Great project Johnny and you've certainly showed off your skills again and well done. Although we've already had a peak of the final outcome of your shed, I can't wait for Part 2 on how you completed it !!
As you probably know already, Seth's dog Drama died and i thought it would be cool if you made a wooden statue of him as a memorial. ex. A statue to go next to the Drama Drop or on his chair in the corner in the Break Room
I built a shed with these plans from Ryan [ Details Here?> *WoodBlueprints. Com* ] . The instructions were clear and easy to implement. Even a novice can be able to build fast using this plan. I'm happy I bought the plan. It also saved me much cost.
Did you need any permits? I was going to build a lean-to also, but my city requires permits and offsets from the house of 5 feet and 3 feet from the property line.
Doesn’t matter as long as they are all facing the same direction. This is actually mainly done with studs to improve the finish texture of the drywall. Crowning only has a structural component with joists, rafters, and headers.
How come you chose to go with 3" deck screws for your joiners instead of clipped nails? I used to frame with 3" screws, but then I bought a framing nailer, and haven't looked back.
Just started this video. I tend to take notes about ??'s wait to see if they're answered sometimes I miss something that was covered so .... mea culpa 1. That shed looks awesome. 2. You're so close to the house if you ever have to reside the house .... ( something I've never done ) isn't that a bit close? Or even paint?
Make sure to check out Part 2 of the shed build series, where I built the roof, shed doors, and the shed ramp! ruclips.net/video/CSuwx3Q8ghw/видео.html
You may not have much wind where you live, but I wanted to ask did you anchor it in any way? It's a narrow and high shed. Great video by the way.
Finally JB finds a project that requires 50% squat time. This is what you've been training for all these years!
So, what's with the Boot, Johnny?
HA!
when i built our shed i used a plan from *WoodBlueprints. Com* and it had all the blueprints, supplies, materials, and list well laid out for me.
Hey nice video, could you give us a shop list please?
I used this video as a reference to help build a lean-to wood shed with one face open. Fantastic video with clear instructions, well done!
Excited to see you mountain biking with Seth!
A fine build should last a long time. Thanks
Best video by far… After 3 months of watching videos, I’m ready! 😎
I love the new look (big boot and running shoe)
Great video. Waiting to see the different colored shoes on the next one.
Very nice build man. Love your little job site assembly table too!
YES!!! I've watched several "how to build a shed" videos!! This is GREAT! Very helpful! And so simple. The foundation and the roof are my biggest worries, and you explained those really simply! Thank you!
Lucky bonus of the overhanging wall is that as it finishes below the floor lowers chance of water ingress :)

me too!

Been following this build via instragram and finally... this is very helpful. Good stuff man.
Should you use treated wood for the base? How do you keep critters from moving in under your shed? Do you need the air ventaliation? Should you screen it?
Super smart idea adding those screws at the bottom to keep your panel level and keeping it a one person show!
I enjoyed your build and thought you were thorough and very good at explaining each step. I would use pressure treated for the skids as they appear to have some ground contact. Excellent! Very instructional! Well done! Thumbs up!
I love your method better than any that I have seen. Thanks!
Very helpful video. Where can I find wall panel board same yours. Please kindly let me know. Thanks for your time
Great video, very informative. Thx for sharing.
using
the screws to create a level rest for the panel, that's genius mate, cheers

New shed and a new ebike... sweet! I've thought about building a shed like this behind my main shed to put my dust extractor and air compressor in.
Looks great! The overhang at the bottom of the side panel is preferred to help lock the walls to the floor and keep water from seeping in at the bottom.
famed to the max just about as well built as a typical timber framed house looks v nice
Do u add any blocking to the rafters? Specifically where they meet the top plate. Or is there an opening between the top plate and the roof plywood?
This looks like a fun project! I hope your foot gets better soon.
What kind of siding you are using ? Great work
Great Video and very helpful . Shed looks great so far and I await part2 .. Stay well your family and you my friend
Are you keeping an eye on my searches? Because just 4 days ago I looked how to build a shed and now here is a better video than anything I found then.
Another cool CW video...can't wait for part 2.
I just bought a wood and shed with the same dimensions. 4’ x 8’. Does it get really hot in there during the summertime? I’m thinking about insulating it because I want to keep it at least a decent temperature.
Thanks for the Video. I'm looking at your saw horse and the unique working bench on top of it. can you please drop few words regarding the two?
thanks
Looks good, well done!!
Thank you for the video. One thing I like is that your ladder can swing up and I have never seen like it. Did you modify it?
Awesome video!
Good job and great tips, Johnny! Thank you.
@15:02, due to economy, I like to build this shape (7 ft rear and 6 ft front) for my shed and side by side with green house.
This channel deserves more views and subscribers
This is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
Guys I am learning woodworking shed plans at *WoodBlueprints. Com* I recommend this .website all you guys who are beginner or advance in woodworking
top secret idea and perfect line included in thi guide
I love it, works fantastic, great price !!!
Frig yeah buddy. Looking forward to part two. Been mulling over buying a rubbermaid or building one. This is actually real close to what I was wanting. Subscribed and standing by.
I’m following the same plans you are. It mentions installing h2.5a Simpson strong ties to the tail end of the rafters, how did you install those?
Do you have blue prints for this? This is the kind of she'd I'm trying to build to fit 2 push lawn mowers
Good job on shed pt. 1; headed to pt 2 now. My shed build later this month 🙏🏼🤞🏼
Good job and great tips! Thank you.
Your cutting bench looks wicked. Do you have any links to how you made it?
Great video! Why did you use 3" screws instead of a nail gun? is one better than the other?
That ladder is ridiculous and amazing.
Just finished a building very similar to this. I wish I had made a larger overhang on the front. Great build!
Very gratifying I'm sure!
great video! thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Well done!

I like it thank you for teaching me how to do do it

Curious, what CAD software did you use for the design?
Your taste in sneakers is just 👌.
I'm building a 4x6 just like this. How far away from the foundation did you put your closest skid? Do you think 1 foot away is enough to still have room when attaching the fascia board in the back?
Good build!
Looks great, I'll be sure to build one my self
Thanks for the awesome build showcase! How much did this thing cost? I'm going to make something similar next to my garage.

No more than 24".
Who else saw the thumb nail and thought “SETHS NEW VIDEO!!!!!!!!!”
lol same
Yes
Haha, dude, yup!
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out backyard storage sheds plans try *WoodBlueprints. Com* Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
🤣
Lookin' great. Thanks Johnny!
Can we buy parts for this shed like the hooks that hold the roof down.
Good Video
What Happened to Left Foor ? Broken ???
I'm not a professional but what is anchoring the shed to the ground? Surely if you have really strong winds, that thing will lift and move?
that shed is roughly a ton or more depending on what's stored inside. Not enough overall wall dimension for strong winds to move it. Unless it's a tornado it should be fine.

That's coming Really nice Bud👍
You make it look easy. I'm sure to screw it up haha - but this really intrigues me as I could def use a little shed like this..
Great Video. it look nice
Can you provide a rough material cost? Curious to compare with shed kits. Thanks!
I love your videos, and you are so dreamy. xx
So how do you decide to build the shed on sleds or concrete footings? Is one stronger over another? I don't want to pour a slab but I'm making a 12'x20' shed for my woodshop in the backyard.
nice work
Awesome work Johnny, looking forward to part 2! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Hey there, got a question for you!
What would you say is better to use for marking out, a pencil or pen?
so nice !
great video man, i'm sure a lot of people with be referencing this in the future.
Your shed looks great! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I built an 8x10 shed for my kids in my backyard earlier this year using plans I got from *WoodBlueprints. Com* Clear directions and an accurate materials list...It was great for a novice builder like myself!
If only I could have a shed at my apartment lol Awesome Shed man definitely will refer to it when I have the space to make one.
What is the diagonal measurement of a 4 x 8 foot sheet of plywood?
Excellent video! Thank you.
Do you not need to poor a concrete slab for the shed to sit on?
Looks awesome Sir. How’s the ebike running.
Pretty fantastic job, dude! It's really looking great! 😃
Looking forward to the next video!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Good stuff mate! Well done!

What are the details of the plywood work bench? Paulk design? Is it a kit?
Did you need any permits? I was going to build a lean-to also, but my city requires permits and offsets from the house of 5 feet and 3 feet from the property line.
This might be a weird question, but I’m curious what shorts those are? Thanks!
Do you have video for the miter saw table that you used in the video?
Great build! One thought though, is that outdoor grade plywood? The underside will be exposed to a lot of humidity.
Also, I would have added some fabric/lining to ensure weeds are not growing below.
In regards to "crowning" the boards, is it better to have the convex curve facing the exterior or the interior of the shed/structure?
Doesn’t matter as long as they are all facing the same direction. This is actually mainly done with studs to improve the finish texture of the drywall. Crowning only has a structural component with joists, rafters, and headers.
