  • in this one I got the lifters, camshaft crankshaft front housing and front main seal, timing gear and pulley installed. also new wrist pin bushings but they need to be framed to fit. I'm getting close to having a good engine so stuck with me I know it's been a while but I'm working on it and almost there!

I appreciate you showing your step by step progress... I picked up a Case 580 with a blown 188D (can put my thumb in the hole of the top of #1 piston).. The interesting part for me is that it was mainly torn down when I got it, and I will have my own 1000 piece puzzle with no video to go back over for what got torn off, or when... Step by step videos like this are important to guys in a situation like I am... so THANK YOU
    sir.

Nice that you caught your mistakes. It's hard when you never been here before. All engines work the same but are different enough in there build to be frustrating.
You didn't need to punch mark the idler gear. The steel plate under the two bolts is the pointer between the pump gear and the cam gear. As long as it points to the marks on each gear when you slide the idler on.
I was hoping you bent the locks over the bolt heads.
Oh, and I saw the new Rod! Well done

I thought the two marks had to match up with the crankshaft?

I know sorry about the wait hay season got in the way but I can't justify owning a dozer if my cows starve so I had to get their winter meals sorted out first 😎
