    I just changed my hydraulic pump without splitting the tractor. It was a long process. Removed the crossover tubes and the hydraulic filtering system for the hydraulics then took the bottom plate off. I had to shove a board under bottom plate to prop it up so I could remove the 2 bolts for pick up tube. While I was in there I changed the pump. It was pretty loose. So new gaskets, seals, o-rings, cleaned everything out etc. in retrospect might have been less time involved to split tractor. It was a real PIA to get the new gasket and bottom plate on while propping the plate up to reattach pick up tube. Oh, had to unbolt and prop up/ pull back slightly steering column too.

    Did you hone the bushes after reaming?

    • @GRTRanchadventures
      @GRTRanchadventures 4 месяца назад

      @@jonkutsch6171 no in this case the reamer left a really nice finish and in my opinion cross hatching is not necessary on oil injected bushings/bearings, but that's just my opinion I could be wrong. • @jonkutsch6171
      @jonkutsch6171 4 месяца назад

      yes. I use a 340 grit 14mm hone. The hone actually makes the bore more true too. I found it almost impossible to make an exact hole using a hand reamer especially if you did it by hand and that's why a drill works best but make sure the reamer spins straight in the chuck of the drill.Take your time on the first one and use it to adjust the reamer with it and if a little tight on the shaft use the hone to get your clearance. FYI the OEM shaft I got was .002 smaller in diameter than the original so the new Genuine rocker was too loose.

      @@GRTRanchadventures I found the hand reamer is impossible to leave to true round hole and that's why I use a drill but still it's a little off so honing will true the hole and knock down the high spots.

    • @GRTRanchadventures

      @@jonkutsch6171 be careful, you cannot hone a hole straight, just because it measures good all the way through the hole could be banana shaped. A reamer will produce a straighter hole but not perfect, the best result would be from boring the holee in a lathe or milling machine. Moral is, don't rely on inaccurate tools for precision surfaces. I know the adjustable reamer is not perfect but it is still orders of magnitude more accurate than a hone.

    I fast forwarded to this video to the end hoping to see you actually lift these on and off with forklift. Didn't get to see that, lol, but I did get to see why I didn't think it was such a cool method. The point of the project, at least as I see it is for one person to be able to drive up and lift them off. But with this setup, you need a second person to hold the wire rope up while you drive the forklift in. Which basically eliminates the benefit of the project in the first place. My version would be too weld a piece piece of steel to the E Trac clip that could extend above the side board. Then I would set it up so that I could easily attach either a chain or cable snuggly between the two fabricated pieces of steel. At that point there would be space between the top of the sideboard and the chain or cable. Then with just one person, I could drive up and lift it off.

    I know this video is older ,but at roughly 12 min in ,when u pulled the pump body off out came the bottom of the old weight cage with it still attached to the rotor with the snap ring than out came the new weight cage .Did you just stack the new weight cage assy on top of the old cage bottom plate and reassemble the last round. Something doesn’t look right . The new cage should be in place on top of the rotor with the timing mark transferred from the old plate and that old bottom plate should not be anywhere in that pump anymore.
