  • 875+ BJJ Tech Demos - itunes.apple.c... - PLEASE SUBSCRIBE: In this video you will see a lot of no-gi choke options such as the brabo choke situations, hug choke, anaconda choke situations, north south choke situations, guillotine variations, rear naked choke variations, and paper cutter choke. Chokes are submissions where the strength of your opponent plays even less of a factor because as it is much harder for them and most of the time not possible for them to muscle out of a choke when you start to set in with it.

    The reason why I am so good defending blood chokes is because I usually defend 1 side of my neck. For example I've never been tapped out with an arm triangle choke cuz i know how to defend it.

    I've also wondered this very same thing and I've come to this conclusion:
    TECHNICALLY if only one artery is blocked then blood can't pass and they pass out. The problem is, if only one side is blocked, the neck is squishy and the blood vessels have space to shift around and "survive". But when both sides are engaged all entropy and freedom is removed and the blood vessels get truly constricted. That's why it's usually ineffective to block only one side.

    I've really been enjoying your vids.
    So much so that I subscribed.
    The variations to these chokes are quite nice and all your material is well explained. I guess you compete. I'm more interested in combative applications but this is very well done.
    Keep up the good work. Your material is exactly what I use youtube for - no bullshit, well explained practicality.
    Thanks.

    Brabo originated in the Gi, and incorporated the Gi jacket into the choke. D'arce is named after a black belt who was known for doing it no gi. Otherwise they're essentially the same, and could just be called a reverse arm triangle or a 3/4 choke because of the 3/4 nelson position it's often hit from.

  • @murkle

    I think the difference between the arm triangle and the hug choke is that you triangle your arms in one, and hug with your arms in the other.

      It might not be that. Jiu jitsu is a VERY, complicated and complex sport. Every detail counts. The instructor can't feed you everything in 1 day, baby steps is key.

    • @InsertDeafultName
      @InsertDeafultName 8 лет назад +1

      Completely true. As the intro stated, this is not intended to be a detailed tutorial guide how to do every choke listed. It's just a quick and dirty reference guide on the basics of the moves.

    • @psychkick666
      @psychkick666 8 лет назад +2

      most of these chokes and locks work for me in sparring, no real life jujitsu teacher has taught them to me, i dont even have a jujitsu gi. I feel some youtube videos teach me and my friends a lot.

    • @eddietasker9110
      @eddietasker9110 5 лет назад

      Then change class. By the spelling "jujitsu" I assume you're taking Japanese jiu jitsu, take it from someone who wasted a year with JJJ, it's absolutely useless. Look up a BJJ class, preferably 10th planet BJJ and go from there.
