I know this video is old, but I LOVE this format!! I find the way you lay the info out really helpful. Don't get me wring, details are good to have too, but there's something about this shotgun approach that really works for me and puts the positions into perspective, as opposed to worrying about tiny but exacting details. Thank you!
My kids are going to love some of these drills. I think I want to start myself looks like pure physics. Thanks for sharing really good explanations, with slowed demos, best blessings!

Be careful on the last escape because as you may have see there was one arm out under the leg which will convert into a triangle, but thats when you use the triangle escape.
love this video. I believe in a purity of having to think for yourself and these speed videos are like primers for the martial artist to take an idea and develop it, understand it and make it better somehow. My friend and teacher is a 4th dan traditional jiu-jitsu master and he told me he doesnt really watch videos. I dont disagree with his method but I really enjoy videos like this.
Do you have an instructional DVD that shows escapes and defense for the same exact stuff you show in the video? Also, do you have instructional videos on mount and side control escapes?
Hi Jason , This is a message from Paris . Thanks for all your videos. Nice job ,its like a dictionary They help all of us from white to black belt. I am a BB too , I am looking for a Marcelo guillotine escape.Did you find some ways ?
Cara vc e o cara! Vlw pela ajuda to asistindo os seus videos para melhorar o meu jogo e vlw pelo video da Kimura ajudou o bastante os conceitos. Dude you R the man! Thanks for all your help Im wathcing your videos to help my game and thanks for the Kimura video the concepts helped alot.
As you look at cams, anything that shoots true, native 720p60 would help action footage. I use a Sony EX1; some of the DSLRs like the Canon 7D will do (not as clean). There's some consumer cams too. Keep the shutter speed high and throw a LOT of light on for best results. Let me know how it goes!
Excellent resource. Something that would be helpful is better slow-mo. You can achieve this in two basic ways: use a cam that shoots 60 frames per second (so when slowed to 30, it's nice & smooth); barring that, use an "optical flow" setting in your editing software (Final Cut & Premiere have this, as well as others). There's plugins for that, too. What do you edit with? Contact me if you'd like details. Be happy to share some tips.
I keep on getting caught in a guillotine against one of my partners. I tried many times to do the shoulder pressure counter (7:02) but to no avail. Any tips? Anything concepts I should keep in mind about it?
Sometimes it's about his lats being quicker and stronger than your neck muscles lol, and like he said best not to get there. But the other responder had a good tip.
sweet! if there's one thing I'm good at it's escaping and sweeping, but since I'm still only a white belt this video still has a lotta escapes I can add to my . . . . "arsenal"? if you use weapons in defense
Nice video. But if i think you should let people know that if they think they cant get out, then just stand up, picking up the opponent if they need to. The judge will stop the fight and restart it. Very simple way to avoid tapping.
nothing else really has submissions in the way bjj does. Muay thai has great examples of how not to get your leg trapped after a kick and judo has anti throw.
Probably watch this video 5 times almost ready to start practicing it
I have a list I maintain in my notes based off RUclips vids and make sure I try one per class. Speeds up your progress
I like this video! No frills. No long, drawn out commentary. Just the meat and potatoes. More like this please.

No! SERIOUSLY! 😂❤
This playlist is one of the best martial arts playlist on youtube. I learn so much by watching.
As a striker without much BJJ experience, this really helped A LOT!!!
The omoplata reversal to one of your own is sweet!

Am i childish if i started to laugh when he said "Push it up their butt, and make it uncomfortable for them"?
+Simon Ghidey most jiujitsu guys are on the downlow.
Simon Ghidey You're having dirty thoughts.
2:10 and i was listening in 0.75 speed. I didn't expect to hear that lol😆
It's hilarious but it's also highly effective lol
@@ReasonableRadio 😏
A lot of these escape moves are actually instinctive moves that everyone has the ability to do.
Professor Scully does it again. Excellent.
Love the "sit in" omoplata counter.
Also love attacking the calf crusher when people go for the heel hook or ankle lock.
Very good techniques! Thanks for the video! Take care and be safe!
Do you have an instructional DVD that shows escapes and defense for the same exact stuff you show in the video? Also, do you have instructional videos on mount and side control escapes?

Love your vids. I look forward to learning the techniques as I journey through BJJ. Would love to meet you and pick your brain.
When I grapple with guys who are lankier than me, it's only natural for them to try to slap a triangle choke. Nice Triangle defense techniques!!
Thank you so much Jason!

Straight-O Keep your posture head up always look up and drive forward. If you allow your neck to bend then you are done.
Sometimes it's about his lats being quicker and stronger than your neck muscles lol, and like he said best not to get there. But the other responder had a good tip.
dude, you are the best!!

nothing else really has submissions in the way bjj does. Muay thai has great examples of how not to get your leg trapped after a kick and judo has anti throw.
@@CB-td4ck Pretty sure Judo has the same submissions and escapes as BJJ.
