    I remember watching this when it came out, as a novice grappler. I made it a goal to learn and hit every sweep on the list. With the exception of two or three, I can tell you 7 years later that I accomplished the goal. I still look at it time to time to rekindle a memory, or just realize how far I've come- and how far I've yet to go. Thanks.

    Love me some Jason Scully videos. As a white belt, it's like drinking from a firehose, but it shows me how deep you can go in this game and it is very exciting.

    As I have benefitted greatly from this I will do a quick numbered list of the techniques. Might do the same for the other videos as well. I only counted 50 techniques but it's possible the 51st could be found in the two "angles" detailed in the Reverse DLR section. Big ups to Jason Scully for putting out these videos, I really vibe with them and have a special approach to learning from them.

    Thanks to this video, got a sick x guard sweep today while rolling. Was in closed guard, scissor sweep wasn’t working too well but the other guy was off balance when he stood up so I went around got my hooks around his knee, pulled his other knee and ankle forward and rolled him just like that, then got on mount. Super satisfying to hit a sweep in live rolling !

    That's a lot of training, you should be there. But its just a belt. Why don't you go take white belt gold in a competition then real quick? Do you want to be the worst blue belt? I'm sure your black belt is taking care of you. It doesn't matter if you can tap people though, thats a part of the chess game. It happens. I guess i'm just the kind of guy that would rather BE a blue belt instead of GET a blue belt.

    Anyone who trains Judo or traditional (Japanese) Jiu Jitsu & can't understand the difference between those & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu needs to watch this video. Its all about the guard in BJJ the evolution of the guard. Judo guys spend so much time on how to get the fight to the ground they forget to work the ground. You would never see a Judo guy pull guard in competition because they don't have very many guard options. But in BJJ most guys pull guard because they have skills to win off there back.

  • @Aurumk1

    As far as I know, yes. I try to be prepared for everything which in jujitsu is very difficult without years of mastery over it. Karate for me was easy. Jujitsu requires you to be five steps ahead and to know every move they are going to make and how they transition into it. As I said before, if he sprawls use a hip sweep and move into side guard. As for attack I am inexperienced and you should consult your sensei.

  • @Aurumk1
    @Aurumk1 12 лет назад

    Underhook under his right leg at the center with your right arm if it is your strong arm. overhook his left arm and pull your head and look where you are going to sweep and roll over while pulling his leg close and as you were trying kick his left leg with your knee as you roll. Looking above where you are going is critical. If you really need it, I will try to post a video on it and as usual nothing is 100% in a fight.

    What you see on RUclips gives you ideas but in real life as a white blue and maybe a purple belt you ain't gonna pull many of them sweeps on by learning from at outline video you need mat time and it all comes down to your bodies flexibility and size a16/17 stone man ain't gonna do half them sweeps

    Nice video! I love how most of these high percentage sweeps allow a transition into total leg control (for leg locks) and if you don't like it you get a dominant position

    Take note of the first few sweeps demonstrated, note down their names and then just work on those.
