Mama Creed took in Adonis because she had genuine love for his father and the legacy he left behind. And she would never turn her back on one of his children especially one who had a such a difficult start to life. She's a wonderful woman. They do exist in real life as well.
My grandmother was one, and my greatest regret is that I never told her that when she was here. RIP K-Mart Lady ✌️🙏✝️
@@QoQabai658 I'm sure she knew. People with hearts like that don't need to hear the words to embrace the warmth behind them.
@@alecaquino4306 that is a beautiful way to put it dude, really
“Prove I’m not a mistake” freaking kills me everytime 💔
First time I saw that in theaters, it hit me like a train and I cried hard.
I don't get what he meant by that line. To prove that he was not a mistake by being born or prove that he's not a mistake as a fighter? I took as meaning he could never live up to his father's legacy
@@blanewalker5512 I think he meant it as not considering himself "illegitimate".
@@B-a-t-m-a-n well, he was born out of wedlock and is therefore considered an illegitimate child, but that stuff should not bother him since it was his dad who was having all of those affairs. He's just a product of Apollos infedelity, if anything it reflects on Apollo. It should have no bearing on Adonis
Yep, I gotta say the same thing to myself at times
"One step at a time. One punch at a time. One round at a time."
Fun Fact: Carl Weathers, who played Apollo Creed and is still alive, gave his strong endorsement to the movie and Michael B. Jordan's performance. Jordan felt extremely honored.
American Flag Fact: Sylvester Stallone requested that Michael B. Jordan wear the famous American flag trunks that Apollo Creed wore in Rocky (1976) and Rocky wore in Rocky III (1982) and Rocky IV (1985) to keep tradition in the "Rocky" universe.
RIP Sage Fact: Just as the film was entering pre-production, Sylvester Stallone's oldest son Sage Stallone died of a heart attack. Stallone has admitted that the loss almost sent him into a full breakdown, but Ryan Coogler was eventually able to convince him to use the film as a dedication to Sage, focusing specifically on the father-son relationships that appear in it. Although initially resistant, Stallone said at the Golden Globes that Creed (2015) helped him cope with Sage's death.
And just a side note to the Sage story: when Adonis goes into Paulie's room, there's an old picture of Sage and his dad in front of a heavy bag sitting on the dresser.
Indeed. I thought that the scene spoke for itself, but context is welcomed.
Go in Peace and Walk with God. 😎 👍
RIP Carl Weathers😞
"You go somewhere...they ain't got no teeth, and the menu's f-up'ed--the food is off the chain."
Every video from EOM Reacts has at least one line that makes me laugh so hard, I have to pause the video to compose myself. This was that line. You, my friend, are a national treasure. Never change. Never quit.
Completely agree, and the constant crapping on Detroit always gets me also.
murder whistle is like rocky of youtube wisdom. always droppin gems and lessons on us lowkey
And if u do go somewhere like that the food is 100% bussin 🤤😂😂😂
What makes it truly funny is that if you've lived long enough, you know he's a hundred percent correct. lol. I can't remember the movie, but J.L. talked about "old man strength" and said something like, "Ever see an older man who's just strong as fuck for no reason?" I damn near pissed myself because I used to admire guys who were built tough like that and now that I'm almost 50, my youngest son said that about me. lol
@@thewab1974 That was Rocky 4 during the training montage.
Through this film series we've seen Rocky as a young man and now Rocky is like Mick and Adonis is like Rocky.
Imagine a film series with the same actor spanning his entire life.
@JL The fact that you think differently or can be man enough or better yet HUman enough to admit you missed Paulie or caught much of the message of the film to how we age, how we fight thru loss and adversity, is why many of us subscribe here. Your emotions are tied with your little doggies as why many of us love the channel. NEVER forget that
For a guy that did not like Paulie throughout the 6 movies I was pretty surprised by your reaction to his death that had you shook we didn’t get to say goodbye to Paulie or Adrian
Edit: your reaction to let’s go tear the city up and he’s just sleeping was so funny made my day 😂
I thought for SURE that J.L. was gonna be like, "Bout got-damn time! Fuck Paulie! Paulie ain't shit!" lol. Quite a different reaction than I expected. lol
The reason all the Rocky universe movies hit so hard is because they're about finding a family that loves you in a completely hostile world and it's not something most people actually get to experience. Sometimes that makes these the hardest movies to watch because looking into the mirror is the most painful thing you could do
The first time I saw Creed. It took four hours because I had to pause the movie. I couldn't handle it
Thanks for doing this one. Thanks for always being amazing. And thanks for all the work that goes into these. It elevates my day every time
When you guys get to Creed II, I would highly recommend you look at some of the deleted scenes. There's one scene, in particular, after the movie's fight that should never have been cut and it's only like 30 seconds or a minute long
Thanks again
Fun Fact: Gerald Tommaso DeLouise compiled a 17-0 record as a professional boxer. He was 32-2 as a boxer in the Marines. He later changed his name to Burt Young and went on to play "Paulie" in the Rocky movies. EDIT: He was 17-0 and was trained by Cus D'Amato (Mike Tyson's Trainer) from the late 60's to 1970.
Thanks for this comment... I had no idea!!
That is so interesting. I never knew that. Thanks for the info.
LMFAO. "He don't fight like his daddy...He does block like Rocky."
Seriously, I mean this with all my heart, THANK YOU for the reverence you show this series. Your reactions to all of the Rockys and Creed have been absolutely perfect.
35:30, that line about proving he isn't a mistake always gets me.
😅😅
Spends 6 movies cussing out Paulie... becomes bitter and irritated Thats Paulie's dead 😂😂😂
"...did I wish death on him?"
😆😆😆
I love right after you said," this don't feel like a Rocky movie. He isn't fighting for something." Then the line," I want to show I am not a mistake." And Rocky says he never got to thank Apollo, then the whole movie took a turn and now it's emotional. Great reaction, man!
I absolutely LOVE the first two Creed's and can't wait for the third! You can see why it won the Golden Globe. Well deserved imo.
"Your daddys name was Chubbs... Was a hell of a golfer... " 🤣
🤣🤣 multi sport athlete
Seeing Rocky visiting Paulie (just like he did with Adrian) hurts every time realizing that, even though he was an asshole a lot of the time, Paulie was all he had left of his old life since he doesn't have much or a relationship with his son. Great reaction to a great movie.
He just killed that mans ancestors.... best line ever!
Hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
What a great reaction, it's been a pleasure to watch your journey with Rocky. When you said Adonis was the son Rocky always deserved? You broke me. :)
I fricken Adore you. I watched every Rocky reaction with you. I saw the first one at the theater the week it was released when I was 8. It got better and better as I got older. Has always been a masterpiece in my eyes. Plus all the others as well. I cried and laughed right along with you even tho I have seen these literally dozens of times in my 54 yrs of existence . Thanks for being you! You make me smile⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😊
When I saw the teaser poster for the film, the tagline reads "Your name is more than a legacy."
Looking back at the first time you saw this, on a date. Aren't you glad that you didn't know the rest of the story? Cause you'd have been crying for half the movie.
Much love to everyone from here in the UK
I was skeptical of the last Rocky movie but ultimately it was fun to spend time with my old friend Rocko. These movies have been in my life for most of my life. Rocky 2 was one of the very first movies I saw in a theater. Watching TV and movie series like this feels like spending time with old friends.
Omg. If it’s been said, sorry. “Rocky gonna make you walk outside, buck naked and make you take a buttah knife and fight a lion”. This is why you are the best reaction person ever. ❤
I so enjoy watching these movies with you brother and it's okay to cry, cause most of us are crying with you.
I kind of resent the film makers for making Apollo a philanderer. Why couldn’t it have been one of Apollo’s legitimate kids?
Yeah Stallone has stated he re-edited the Apollo vs Drago fight to have him put up a better fight against Drago , so his legacy wasn't so tarnished....but they already trashed his charecter by making him a cheat that knocked up a ring rat.
38:52 I always loved the friendship between Rocky and Apollo.....and now Rocky has become somewhere between a surrogate father to Adonis/Donny and a mentor for him like Mick was for Rocky.
Apollo would very happy about this.
Creed Baby YAAHHH!!! Creed 2 was good also but this one is Special!! Love the natural connection Adonis & Rocky Developed!! Love the callback to Rocky having Adonis chase & catch the chickens like Mickey had Rocky do in Rocky 2!! Shoutout to the Best Skilled Fighter in the whole series Apollo!!
Wonderful movie. Poor Paulie but dang they passed the torch so well. So well handled
I wish ppl saw and talked about how he was in a deadass knock out. Cold. Until he saw his father he literally jumped up like his father possessed his body. My fav part of the movie ❤️
“There is no tomorrow!” - Apollo Creed.
That boy definitely got his father heart and mind of bravery, I’ll tell you that much .
@JL was a treat to see you start the Creed serious. I was shocked at how much I fell in love with this series. Was fun to see you like it and get the emotional scenes. When Adonis says to Rock "He had to prove he is not a mistake" I understood that my wife who I sadly lost last year was a "surprise" baby 15 years later then her 4th sibling and it affects how she related her whole life sadly
My condolences to you may she rest in peace 🙏
@@UtopiaBlue68 Thank you for your kindness and empathy. In short supply these days. Best wishes to you and your family. Love hard :)
@@michaelcoffey1991 💝🙏
Also, Blank a real one putting in that work and I see the comments littered with him liking and responding! Nothing but love for the EOM fam
Appreciate that homie.
Grandma’s blanket had me dying laughing. You are funny as sh*t!😂😍
Rocky isn't in Creed 3. That makes me sad. The bond between Adonis and Rocky is so good. Love this film and the second one too.
Me too
Stallone retired the Rocky character with Creed 2. I believe he may be doing the same with Rambo.
That said his new character Dwight Manfredi (Tulsa King) is hoot.
@@technopirate304 Tulsa king is awesome
I have watched the rocky movies, my whole life. And i watched them with my father.
My daddy was a boxing coach, had coached my whole lifetime almost. We lost him two years ago. These movies are a hard watch for me. Thank you for making it easy to rewatch in a way. Your humour gets my through it. Thank you for being you. Thank you to Blank and the co pilots as well.
I’m sorry to hear about your lost but I’m glad you’re still able to enjoy them with us
Knuckle baby stains 🤣🤣🤣🤭😂🤣🤣🤣. As far as the son rocky always deserved. His son got spoiled and didn't know how to handle living in his father's shadow and rocky didn't know how to handle that. Great video and channel. Keep up the great work 👍
Ryan Coogler came up with the idea and approached Stallone about it. Originally he said no but then he saw Fruitvale Station which was also written & directed by coogler and starred B Jordan. That's when he agreed to do it.
Man, I love hanging with you and your babies. I always laugh. Every single time. Thanks for the time.
The reason the face down butt up creed knockdown looked so real is because Michael b Jordan accidentally miss timed his head snap, he turned into the punch and got knocked out for real making the movie
These two Creed movies are excellent, even if they are loose re-hashes of the first four Rocky films in seperate ways. But this upcomming third movie not only looks great, but is pretty much independent on its own.
Except Stallone isn’t in it and feels like he was completely cut out of it for money reasons
You made me genuinely belly laugh with your commentary after Conlan knocked Creed down.
Your emotional reaction to it all was near similar to mine, the Rocky verse means the world to me. Seeing others experience it so, is beautiful. Thank you
That comment on the heavy blanket on the couch about killed me, LOL.
My parents had that exact one for our den couch and it was a monster to fight under, like you were stuck in quicksand.
Great Reaction, both Creed movies tug at heart strings every time
6:58 Preach not too many women would do that. Mrs. Creed has a big ass heart.
The combination of JL’s reaction, and people looking up knuckle babies in the live chat was hysterical. Still would have been the best reaction video of Creed even without that. Nothing but the best from JL and Blank as always. Respect and love!!
You were right. This is an all time great father/son movie. 38:52
Ok, I know I'm rushing you but let's get to Creed 2. One thing about Rocky is he keeps it real, Rocky is all heart ❤
Def coming in a couple weeks.
Yo daddy's name was Chubb's, haha that has me roooolllin' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great reaction👊
Rocky has been in my life since I was a kid. Made me better at sports growing up. I wasnt excited for this movies because Rocky ended on a great movie. Even having the spin-off made me upset. This is probably the 2nd best Rocky movie made. It blew me away.
I think they should make a prequel from the perspective of Apollo’s old trainer. Start with something ending his career as a boxer. Then maybe he becomes a drunk or just angry all the time. Then he discovers this young boxer named Apollo and finds purpose in training him to become the next heavyweight champion. Call it “Duke”.
I would totally be down with that. Duke was one of my favorite secondary characters. R.I.P. Tony Burton.
I thinks there's a boxing rocky game that says Duke was an established boxer and Apollo beat him. After that fight he went on to become his trainer.
@@sephirotgxr
They could work with that too. 👍
Would love to see it
Hey man, good to see Paulie get his respect finally. I think we all assumed you remembered Paulie dies cuz you said early in the series you have seen creed already. Have a good one
I cried like a grown man at the end of the movie.
“My man is grocery store walkin up them steps”
😂🤣 to and from with 6, 7 bags in each hand bruh 🤲💀
FYI: Conlin's walkout song is Don't Waste My Time by Krept and Konan
I love your reactions. Your channel really deserves more views.
I greatly appreciate that
At 32:50, I don't know why, but it made me think of another movie you should watch: Clint Eastwood 's Million Dollar Baby, featuring Hillary Swank, Morgan Freeman and early career performances by Anthony Mackie and Jay Baruchel.
16:42 - I lost it at “knuckle babies.” LMAO
🤣🤣🤣 you know a black light would be torture in there
@@J_EOMReacts - That would look like a Jackson Pollock painting. lol
Ive seen all your reactions to the Rocky's...but completely forgot your chubs references, and right out the gate you Chubbed it!
And I spent five minutes cleaning up the beverage that shot thru my nose!..
The lion and butter knife 🤣, but dude, I was bawling at the end! Five star reaction!
Love to you, Blank and the co pilots!!👍💯❤️
"why he got jergens lotion in the bathroom?". 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That's why we love you.
I saw this flick in theaters with my dad who emigrated to Philly when he first came to America and was a lifelong Rocky fan. The smile on his face after walking out the theater was impeccable.
Hell ya man! Been waiting for this one.
You're also gonna love Creed II.
I didn’t realize the all black outfit until you pointed it out. That’s Mike Tyson’s look.
I love it that you always call him Chubbs.
I love the idea or the fact that you hated Pauly but still wanted to say bye to him
"Apollo Creed is still the hardest name I ever heard in my life."
What about the real life Tyson Fury?!
I think Apollo Creed it’s top dog. I feel like if you walk in and say your name is Apollo Creed trumpets should play
'Knuckle Babies'.. jfc dude.. you ARE a Comedic Genius. #ReactionGod 😅
Much Love and Respect to you and your family (including Blank). ✌
I'm looking forward to this reaction
😂😂😂 talking all that shit about Paulie for 6 movies, lol see why now Paulie was a good character to have in Rocky even tho he was a piece of shit
Stallone's son-his first born-died in 2012, and a lot people think that's why they didn't include Rocky's son in this movie, because he just couldn't handle it
I think your assessment on the relationship dynamic between Rocky and Adonis is accurate. Looking forward to your reaction on Creed 2, hope its sooner than later.
“Why didn’t you tell me Rocky was your uncle!”
🥰
Yay!! I’m so happy right now!! And I agree with you on everything .. I cried my eyes out the first time I watched this.. I can’t t wait for you to watch part 2 it’s also a great movie .. your my favorite!! My love to you and your babies .. ♥️♥️
#Knucklebabies RIP PAULIE 🥃
We love you bro! Your reactions are real and enjoyable.
I just about fell out of my chair when you said said we didn't get to say goodbye to Paulie?? After all those "f#&k Paulie"'s...daaaamn
I wish philicia Rashad had more scenes on this movie
I cry like a baby every time
I cry every time! Every freakin time 🥺😭😂😂

Dear eom I sincerely appreciate and love your reviews, awesome reactions and opinions you are funny as hell , can’t wait to see you react to creed 2
I appreciate that
This movie hits totally different when you know about Rocky and Apollo's friendship.
Awesome reaction as always and I love the hoodie!
Appreciate that 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I'm with you when I saw this in the theater and quietly BEGGED to not make me lose it in the theater, J lol. Thank you for the real reaction.
EOM out here dropping knowledge "the right woman can make you a king the wrong woman will make you half a man"
3:53 Michael B is even more jacked in the second Crees and Black Panther
the guy who played conlon was a real life boxer. he had one of the cruiserweight titles but never was undisputed
"It hit different when you know the backstory"
So many MCU actors in this movie. Killmonger from Black Panther. Valkyrie from Thor. Stakar from Guardians of the Galaxy and Gale from Ant-Man.
Nowadays in Hollywood if you are an established actor and you aren’t getting tapped for the MCU, fire your agent. 😂🤣
Another great great video. Never mind the negative people man. Ignore is the best policy.
Love the reaction bro but a lil surprised on your reaction to Pauly passing seeing u couldn't stand him lol
Creed 2 is awesome too and I love your reactions to this movie and the rest of your reactions too. God Bless! :)
You were right about the ring announcer being the best job. Michael Buffer charges thousands to announce.
Apparently Stallone wasn't happy with the story for the third Creed movie so he opted out. Not sure if they kill him off or what..
But regardless to me it means the third one will either be really really good because it changes the formula or just 100% sucks.
It hits differently after watching the Rocky movies
I swear it do
Great Reaction!! ..Another must see Stallone movie is "Cliffhanger".. it's awesome!
Chubs Jr 😂 you always make me laugh
nice editing, i forgot how good this movie is.
Both actors were alive during this movie. Talia Shire "Adrienne" is still alive but Burt Young "Paulie" just recently passed away.
Makes me laugh every time in all 7 movies so far when you call him "Chubbs"
I went on a date and saw pizza.
Whoo! whoo! the whistle!
