You are doing a great job ! I used to build these back in the 70's, and you've bought back so many great memories. I hope you are going to polish (remove stress focus points) the rockers, that was fun BITD. The "Works" engines used to put thin steel tubes where the inlet port came close to the head bolt, then they used to add alloy and completely reshape the post for better gas flow. To get the spring on, grab it with long-nosed pliers about 3 turns out from the centre and open the spring by trying to rotate it counter-clockwise.
sounds weird, but as the builder, you can look at the running engine with xray vision, so you `see` all the components you spent time on whizzing round, and it is very gratifying.
You said you're going dry for this one, but I'm curious what you normally use on inner and outer gearbox covers. I have blue hylomar, Permatex anaerobic sealant and some Hondabond. Trying to figure out which of those 3 would be best, or if I should get something different.
gaskets im going to say franz and grubb his are amazing go check them out as far as parts..... shop around man it seems best to buy them from whoever has the best

I love that you cut the bottom fin off that transmission cover. I hate that fin. It makes getting to my speedo cable nearly impossible.
Looks Great DSR!!!
