Jan, you did it AGAIN. This time I just found out my first great- grandbaby will be here in a few months so these blocks and a ball will be added to the miter corner receiving blankets you taught me, the burp cloths, bibs and more. You always come up with a new tutorial just when I need it. Thank you, as always a great tutorial.
What perfect timing! I’m helping with my 6 month old grandson, he will love this! Plus, putting a bell inside! What a great idea. I have bells in my Christmas stash. I’ll be making one of these today. Great tutorial.
@JanHowell you have a video on how to sew with a surger machine going around curves and corners. Can you give me advice on how to find it? I've had a surger for over 2 years, and scared I'll mess it up using it not knowing what I'm doing. I learn faster by watching videos. Thanks!
Here is a video showing how to do corners and curves with the serger. Don't be intimadated. Pracetice on some scraps. You've got this! ruclips.net/video/AEaWfrjkHZQ/видео.htmlsi=_ZRPackMg94yiObi
Since you don't start at the fabric edge, how do you prevent "thread nests" at the start of a seam? I have to use leaders/enders with my Babylock machine.
If you hold the threads as you start to sew, it won't do that. Here is a video show that technique. ruclips.net/video/j-Xvo9R3rmk/видео.htmlsi=97ydxvHBLKHI9TY7&t=118
Hi Jan. I love your tags and have watched your videos. I invested in $75 worth of tiny stamps for my labels. I bought gross grain ribbon and permanent ink pads. But my ink seems to bleed a little when I press it on the ribbon. Any tips on this? Love the block! Can’t wait to make for my first grand baby, 6 months old! Thank you!
I have a love/hate relationship with sewing but these blocks are so cute I'm gonna have to give them a try! We have a grandbaby due in October and can't wait to make some colorful Halloween blocks for the baby. We are a big Halloween loving family so I know mom & dad will love them too. Thank you for sharing this!!
Nice (NHMD, in Hebrew). // SHLM & HaB (peace & love). The Name of the Creator is Hayah Asher Hayah, as what He told Moshah (Exodus 3:14), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is a curse to the G-o-d name (Isaiah 65:11-12), preserved in the Hebrew Scriptures. All followers of the Messiah are to do the 7 appointed times (Leviticus 23), but no more animal sacrifices, following the Crucifixion of the Messiah. We are now of the order of MLK TSDQ (King, righteous), to Whom ABRaHM tithed. Ask the Messiah to be your personal Savior. He said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). ...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of Hayah (Romans 3:23). The wages for sin is death but the gift of ALaHYM is Everlasting Life through Messiah Yahushgh our Master (Romans 6:23). That if you confess with your mouth the Master Yahushgh and believe in your heart that ALaHYM raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved (Romans 10:9). They are lovely, 🥰 please may I ask, would you consider making a baby bonnet? Thank you very much 😊
Great idea! I'll put that on the list.
@JanHowell Thank you, I look forward to seeing you 😄
Hi! I was wondering what material I could use to make a dog cube?
I would use a thicker material such as denim, upholstry fabaric. Just depends on how rough your dog will be with the block?
Since you don't start at the fabric edge, how do you prevent "thread nests" at the start of a seam? I have to use leaders/enders with my Babylock machine.
If you hold the threads as you start to sew, it won't do that.

@@JanHowell Thank you, but I see that you didn't have to do that. Hmm. Must be my machine.

You could try setting the ink in vinegar after you stamp. But concerned about washing them. Have you tried washing a label yet? I would be interested.

Are these machine washable?
Yes they are.
These are adorable! Great video.
Where can I get the pattern?

Looks good, for safety I would leave out the bell if giving to a baby, as if the child chews through the toy it could become a choking hazard.
Thanks so much for sharing.
