When I sit down at a kit, my chops are more like something off an AC/DC record. Independence like this still amazes me and, as someone who 'dabbles' in playing drums, it is always an incredible treat to hear what else is possible!
Good to see a percussionist displaying a melodic solo. Instead of triplets galloping up then slowing down all the way through. This reminds me the band Santana when the song and have a break and a percussion section would just go off. This man's stick technique also reminds me of an Australian inspirational drummer of a generation ago called Virgil Donati. But like everything the current generation are more than experts with their skill.
Can he READ? Is he VERSATILE?Can he play all STYLES? Is he Easy to get along with? Is he DEPENDABLE? It takes a lot more than what you see here to be in the Ranks of the BEST!!!

I can think of a few drummers in well known bands that aren't up to Dylan's level. Sometimes being in a big well known band gives people the impression you are actually better than you are. When in reality you're just average at best
