I know it might seem like a little thing, but the fact that he kept that woodblock pattern going on his foot while doing all that other crazy is shit is really impressive to me.
Even better when he drops the stick and picks it up just after 3:13. Watch his right hand. He dumps the stick but it stays on the drums and he picks it back up. That's even more amazing
you should see him with his full set of his drumkit, i wonder why he never use his full drumset now, the first solo of him that uploaded on youtube is still the best drum solo i've ever seen.
Very nice! I'm a female kiwi drummer living in the states right now and I just happened across one of your solos. I am your new fan, very talented indeed. I only wish I could play like that!
It looks like he ditches both sticks. He looks at the broken stick, tosses it, plays a beat with the other stick and reloads one, then tosses the other original stick, replaces that one with the new stick, then reloads again. All in a couple of seconds without missing a beat. That is just SICK!!!
Alright new rule, only human beings are alowed to post drum vids on RUclips. No androids allowed. That means u gonna have to take down this video. Absolute beast. It's not fair. I'm going to cry to my mother right now :'(
Keith K. I always do! Why? Because I get so entirely soaked in sweat it's insane. I do Muay Thai/Krav Maga, + I jogg and engage in many various physical activities, not one takes the price on how much I sweat other than drums! It's just so much comfortable too play without! (I'm talking about a gigg-envoirment, at rehearsal I tend to keep my shirt on because the sole fact that you don't sweat as excessively as at a gig, you don't have ''break'' at a gigg, there are so many lights pointed at you on stage, they crank up the temperature A LOT adding to that there are many guitar amps and such running, they also generate heat. And the most important factor, which some studies has prooven, that touring rock-drummers on stage, are on par with actual top athletes, well - They are athletes. They burn around up to 400-600 calories an hour & could peak at a Heart beat of 190 bpm at times whilst playing a 90 minute gigg!! Quoting with copy paste from the BBC article ''"Rock drumming in particular is very energetic, and to add to this, these guys are playing in a hot environment - you'll see them literally dripping with sweat." @Robin Nilsson Thank you for sharing your research. I also read somewhere that Drummers, esp metal, rock & jazz are typically "aggressive-type personalities" which makes absolute sense to me & proves aggression is hardly all bad.
