I saw Hannibal at the magic castle and he was amazing! Putting aside the great card tricks he is a genuinely fun and hilarious entertainer! Love this dude!
I've done a TEDx event before. It's a little intimidating due to a clock staring you in the face, and it's not a typical performance that people are expecting. People come to these expecting to be enlightened or educated. Then you add the element of knowing it's going to be put online for the world to see, whether you approve or not. I don't read the comments on mine, because I know a lot of jealous, immature pricks are going to leave insults because it make them feel superior in their own little world. So, although I may not know him on a personal level...as a magician, and mentalist that performs in the same circles as Hannibal, I can honestly say this was a great and entertaining performance.
Well said. What people need to remember about this kind of performance it was entertainment and he was charismatic as well. You make a number of points that help others to understand how intimidating TEDx events can be coupled with "idiots" who try to pick things apart to make themselves feel good and try to make the performer feel greatly under appreciated. Thanks for your insight.
You know it's going to be online before you even attend the event, so obviously you approve when doing a ted talk. Maybe you should just stop being so negative and appreciate the good comments instead of just insulting the whole community at once
Matt Winkler After he tells him the card he chose ( I dunno how he found it ) he starts looking over the deck pretending to get the 8 but he is also getting the queen of spades, and with great sleight of hand, he shows us this card instead of the card on the table. At least I think this is how.
I think I got it. Ace has three letters. So if she pulls the ace im guessing he would be like Ace has three letters so we'll pull three cards out. Etc. Everytime I watch him I try to see the slight of hand at the moment they count the cards out and he gives them back but I never see anything.
Jason Johnson I see him count the cards out he has 3 palmed after he counts out the ten and when he fans out the second ten that’s when he takes 3 away so I’m wondering how he knows that she’s gonna pull a 3

Hannibal is not British, nor does he have a British sense of humor. Said by someone who loves watching British classics who's also friends with many Brits.
that last trick is actually amazing. i like to think of myself as an OKAY spare time card trick "magician" and that i can usually guess how things are done.. just wow, not a damn clue.
He has the variables in his own show nailed to almost perfection. He knows exactly how to shuffle the cards around to make his tricks work. He does that flawlessly, at times he just counts wrong in even the close ranges of 10. If he can't make those counts correctly, and then considering how counting cards in blackjack is a whole different art and playing-field altogether, I imagine he won't fare too well there. Unless he truly can produce magic, I doubt he would make much money on blackjack -- even the best card-counters are reduced to chance bets a lot of the time. That's my guess anyway, but I'd be fascinated to know if and how I'm wrong on this! :-D
Easy to see how this is done if you've got a little magic background, but to watch his skillset in action is really amazing. Talk about using your weight to your weight advantage. :D :D :D. Love ya, Chris. Your patter is the absolute best!!!
Chris Hannibal all good, i've done the same thing in tricks but on people. there will be 10 people but i'll only need 6 so i'll say "since there are 6 of you in the immediate area, how about 6?"
This was a pretty neat and funny thing to watch. It's awesome seeing someone so passionate (Hope I spelt that right) about what they do, and adding their own twist too it.
Hannibal, I've enjoyed your Genii articles and am happy to have the chance to see you perform. Enjoyed! Methinks some of these commenters do not understand the rules and rigors of busking.
@@-_-Code-_- lol all magicians are fraud, thats the trick. But this guy is way much more entertaining than david blaine i saw some other of his videos.
I dont know how you do the sleight of hand but i love how you force the 3, i know thats the ideal number to use for card stack, thickness etc. but it would be great to see other numbers you use
Holy Crap. This is one of the best Mentalists i've ever seen. All you haters don't even understand what he is doing during his act. This is pure psychology mixed with slight of hand mixed with insane amounts of statistics and logarithms etc. I usually can figure out every trick / every secret etc, and I don't want to ruin it, but trust me, this trick is all based on intelligence and some manipulation and is just astounding. As a fellow magician (semi pro), I know everything he did except the finale. That was amazing., however Hannibal's IQ is off the scale here. That's the trick pretty much
No problem. I think you know that I've figured most of it out, but yeah the finale still haven't (and honestly don't want to. It's like the old saying though, look close because the closer you look, the less you see) until that stupid "Now You See Me" movie made that into a catch phrase. I love the whole number of letters in your name bit too, and how everyone is telling you "Um it doesn't have 7 letters" gee, guess Hannibal is too dumb to know how to spell his own name eh guys? Or maybe there's a reason for it.....................? dumbasses.
No, I don't think you have much of it figured out at at all. There is no psychology, no statistics, and no logarithms. If you can learn the alphabet, add, and subtract, then you've got the necessary intelligence. It's all done using card sleights (plus one deck principle) that have been used for over 100 years and any self-respecting magician would know about. The tricks in the finale begin with a routine first published in 1908, and once you know the setup for that, the rest becomes trivial. There are at least a dozen books that describe slightly different ways of doing the last 3 tricks.
If you have it all figured out, why hasnt someone made this same comment about you and how you do it? You have no clue, you're just a troll lol. You sound jealous as hell. All I saw was dedication and talent, dont try to take that away from this man just because you want to act like you know everything. Do something with your life aside trying to discredit other peoples life achievements.
I've seen only two renditions of this trick so far... is it always a three that gets selected? Anyone seen any other number? Love it, by the way - I can't do magic pretty much at all, but I love trying to figure out how they do it. This guy is great!
He tries to force a 3, if it fails he'll pull back and distract the audience with more jokes or banter and try again. He'll also direct attention to the audience member to try to force them to pick faster and in turn select the card he's trying to push into their hand.
@@Tyler-hh2zl Now that you mention it... yeah, I see it now. He's quick with the joke though to distract from the fact that the forced selection didn't work
@infoweeb4634 But he messed up multiple tricks. And the stuff with think of any card and how he came to the conclusion was pretty cringe. "Subtract Queen from jack that means 8". Yikes.
Just a small suggestion Hannibal, if you could please ask everyone with a please it would sound a lot better. Thanks in anticipation. Having said that, great tricks👍🏼
Michael Snake sure I have, I don't see anyone here complaining about me. all I see is people complaining about you, but I'm the troll now, right? you need to think CLEARLY before you speak. moron
Hannibal himself told, that he hasn't got many tricks/routines and doesn't often come up with his owns. Tho Penn and Teller would still be amazed by the showmanship the great man does! :)

Sure, Penn has his fingernail painted red...It's apparently in honor/remembrance of his mother. But seeing as Hannibal also has them semicolon ( ; ) tattooed on his wrist, I'm willing to bet the fingernail is for the movement "A Polished Man" conservativetribune.com/see-man-painted-nail/
Phillip Shockley if that's the case he could half his diet and do double the donation. I've been helping Cambodian orphans for years and I haven't painted my nail for some cheap recognition so people can think I do some good other than eat for three.

Maybe the best thing for you to do is post your own 20 minute TED show so we can all judge you. ✌🏼
I have a Brit right next to me, who hates him and thinks he's as witty and funny as your birth certificate.
...severely damaged my mars bar
Pretty rude of you to assume that?
Hannibal is not British, nor does he have a British sense of humor. Said by someone who loves watching British classics who's also friends with many Brits.
They do enjoy me in England, yes. Thanks for watching!
that last trick is actually amazing. i like to think of myself as an OKAY spare time card trick "magician" and that i can usually guess how things are done.. just wow, not a damn clue.
About that last trick: I wonder if Las Vegas casinos let this guy play blackjack.
The only part I cannot figure out is the 3. lol
Definitely one of my favorite magicians. Charisma and Humor is on point. Great performance.
Easy to see how this is done if you've got a little magic background, but to watch his skillset in action is really amazing. Talk about using your weight to your weight advantage. :D :D :D.
Love ya, Chris. Your patter is the absolute best!!!
I like this guy. Great delivery. From my hometown too.
hannibal only has 8 letters
I checked that too lol, thought so he was just saying it so he could use the number 9
By gum, you're right! What a horrible mistake I made. :)
Chris Hannibal all good, i've done the same thing in tricks but on people. there will be 10 people but i'll only need 6 so i'll say "since there are 6 of you in the immediate area, how about 6?"
Cmon fellas. Watch it again. 'Off by 1..."
Yes. he was off by 1, remember? :) I got you Hannibal!
This was a pretty neat and funny thing to watch. It's awesome seeing someone so passionate (Hope I spelt that right) about what they do, and adding their own twist too it.
What a dead crowd damn, everything went over their heads.
Yes.😂
leftist crowd thought he was sexist
Nope it was just too large. Magic works better with smaller crowds.
@@zejdland whatever republicuck
@@jermorg i'm Polish
What I learned from this is to take what you love and make a life out of it!
He did this perfectly at the magic castle.
Hannibal, I've enjoyed your Genii articles and am happy to have the chance to see you perform. Enjoyed! Methinks some of these commenters do not understand the rules and rigors of busking.
Just watched this. I'd definitely hire him over someone like...David Blaine. He's half the price and twice the size.
His act is literally bigger than most
Lol, what has David Blaine done to you?! Now, a fraud like Criss Angel can be a example.
whats the beef with david blaine? i thought blaine was atleast legit, i know hes a bit gimmicky but hes not a fraud like some other big magicians...
@@-_-Code-_- lol all magicians are fraud, thats the trick. But this guy is way much more entertaining than david blaine i saw some other of his videos.
@@timewalker6654 david Blaine is a great magician as well. He's not a diva and think he's god like someone like Chris lol.
I like his trick and story-telling!
I dont know how you do the sleight of hand but i love how you force the 3, i know thats the ideal number to use for card stack, thickness etc. but it would be great to see other numbers you use
Chris Hannibal is actually amazing. Holy shit.
Great performance.
Chris Hannibal, . awesome performance. awesome advise. God bless you
Raul Camero I'm glad you enjoyed it. the message is crucial.
That's the trick pretty much
Thank you, Kevin.
If you want to know how he forces the cards, and palms the cards, I can link you to those. He's not a mentalist, not in anyway! He's Tubby Pringles!
If you have it all figured out, why hasnt someone made this same comment about you and how you do it? You have no clue, you're just a troll lol. You sound jealous as hell. All I saw was dedication and talent, dont try to take that away from this man just because you want to act like you know everything. Do something with your life aside trying to discredit other peoples life achievements.
clutch forces from 20 years of practice. The whole trick pings on that split second.
You are a great magician.
I hope Michael Snake comments xD
My goodness! A whole entire year and he didn't?!
His wit and humour are fantastic
I've seen only two renditions of this trick so far... is it always a three that gets selected? Anyone seen any other number?
Love it, by the way - I can't do magic pretty much at all, but I love trying to figure out how they do it. This guy is great!
It’s always 3 but I don’t know how. He’s mad good
He tries to force a 3, if it fails he'll pull back and distract the audience with more jokes or banter and try again. He'll also direct attention to the audience member to try to force them to pick faster and in turn select the card he's trying to push into their hand.
you actually see him fail to force a card at around 7:50
@@Tyler-hh2zl Now that you mention it... yeah, I see it now.
He's quick with the joke though to distract from the fact that the forced selection didn't work
Holy shit, this is off the chart! I’m sold!
11:32 How do you subtract queen from jack to get 8?
Very carefully.
Queen is two off ten, then it's 12. Jack is four letters. 12-4=8
Wow cringe. More than 1 trick screwed up. He's engaging in talk but failed at some of the card tricks.
djlowtek
If you think he messed up a trick then you are truly slothful
@infoweeb4634 But he messed up multiple tricks. And the stuff with think of any card and how he came to the conclusion was pretty cringe. "Subtract Queen from jack that means 8". Yikes.
This guy is truly an inspiration!
Markxsmann C. Thank you very much!
He needs tobe on America got talent. This man is Amazing
This was great, thanks Hannibal!
Haha, the smart volunteers messed with his act as much as politely possible. This guy kills though. I love him!
Pretty sure Victor was a plant. The guy didn't act like a random person.
Trevor _ no plants, no stooges. Both guys came from the balcony, which I couldn't even see, due to lights.
How do you figure that? Look at his body language, he behaved exactly as you'd expect a random volunteer to act...
Just a small suggestion Hannibal, if you could please ask everyone with a please it would sound a lot better. Thanks in anticipation. Having said that, great tricks👍🏼
"Hannibal has 9 letters therefore you have the 9 of diamonds"
*Ahem*...Hannibal has 8 letters!
Yes, but more importantly, he was charismatic and entertaining!
Hanniball
HHannibal
Hannibbal
He said he was off by one.
2:23 three cards from his right hand are added to the 10 cards.
3:06 three cards are taken (left hand) and added to the deck later.
i am a magician and i am fcking good at cardistry, and i say 100% he got mad skillz
You aren't good then. Because he's quite bad at handling.
Michael Snake sure I have, I don't see anyone here complaining about me. all I see is people complaining about you, but I'm the troll now, right? you need to think CLEARLY before you speak. moron
really cool act! his card tricks are super simple but his acting makes it fun :)
4:00 he always gets 3 on this trick.
Yes, seen this before. Many tricksters use their own people in the audience to do their tricks!
@@muzzykara9336 No he forces the card, just like when let the guy pick a card but he chose the wrong one so he backed off and tried again
@Razvan Negoitescu before finally giving them the cards, he takes them out or adds them, then they go into the pocket
Has Penn and Teller seen this guy? They would be vastly impressed!!!!
Hannibal himself told, that he hasn't got many tricks/routines and doesn't often come up with his owns. Tho Penn and Teller would still be amazed by the showmanship the great man does! :)
You can see him add the cards at 2:25. Watch his right hand closely.
Chris
I have watched this video several dozen times and it just keeps getting better!! I bought your double DVD with the hopes that along with the other great tricks that you would teach how to do your cards across..... But you DONT!! Please send me a link to your explanation of cards across! Please.. PLEASE!
hannibal has 8 letters dude..
Oh? I hadn't noticed. ;)
He was off by one
Jatin Kushwah Hannibal has 6 letters!
Oh, if you were a little taller, that joke wouldn't have gone sailing over your head.
I think even if they were 8 feet tall, the joke would have still gone over their head. (and chris knows why i picked 8 feet instead of 9 or 10)
this dude got swagger and charisma
the best trick here is the vest buttons hold
I don't get it.
i love that you actually watch these comments! That is the better trick from a video from 2015 !
well played sir
I don't really watch them, but I get a notification when someone posts on this video, so naturally I check out what someone has to say. thanks for watching!
I don't know what he did to get recycled on RUclips but that was great.
painted finger nail, looks oddly familiar
yep
he's pen's twin
Sure, Penn has his fingernail painted red...It's apparently in honor/remembrance of his mother. But seeing as Hannibal also has them semicolon ( ; ) tattooed on his wrist, I'm willing to bet the fingernail is for the movement "A Polished Man" conservativetribune.com/see-man-painted-nail/
Phillip Shockley if that's the case he could half his diet and do double the donation. I've been helping Cambodian orphans for years and I haven't painted my nail for some cheap recognition so people can think I do some good other than eat for three.
Michael Snake donation? Obviously you didn't look into it at all. It's not some charity, it's an awareness thing... A movement. Get off your damned high horse.
I lost track, you are a Master at what you do, and would love to see you in person.
He called him a “Card monkey” reminds me of clerks 2 since he brought up Kevin smith
kind of a "yikes" moment
I thought he was calling himself a card monkey. He's a magician, so card monkey could be a joking term he uses to describe magicians.
He called himself that
@@MrMasterKaio yeah he was definitely calling himself that, he even did it again
Bruh when he said “your not buying this aren’t you” the dude said I don’t have no money 😂😂🤦🏾♂️
How long has Aaron Ra been doing card tricks?
Great vid.
Powerful magic, Hannibal.
He kinda looks like if Orson Welles had Iggy Pop’s hair.
Edit: I commented this before the Orson Welles joke 😂
Brilliant work! I'm blown away.
The guy with the cap put the cards on his right side but he pulls the cards out of the left side????
I do believe that the guy with the black shirt is your pal but either way, that's a great show and got to respect and admire your technique. Very impressive dude, keep going, hope to see you on stage some day, was really funny.
