- In this video I show you 2 mods that I have done to my Harbor Freight 8 Drawer Wood Tool Chest. They are very easy and take almost no time to do.

Fountain pen collectors use these too. They buy the flocked plastic fountain pen liner inserts and cut them to size for the drawers. Makes an awesome storage cabinet for the pens and keeps them organized, protected, and secure. I really need to get myself one. Thanks for the wax idea and the protective feet idea.
Nice, I remember when Sensible Prepper had this vid too. I wanted to get one of these boxes back then and now I have to. Its really a great idea, with all the EDC gear we all manage to carry. Good idea on the wax and the feet

I got one and it holds a ton of stuff. Knives. Watches lighters/zippos. Pens. Keys. Edc accessories. Flashlights. Sunglasses. Wallets. Multi tools. Highly highly recommend

I agree with you. These toolchests are awesome buys. I also coated my runners to slide easier. I make jewelry and keep my cabachons in the slotted drawers, micrometer, tape measure ring mandrel and other various tools. Love it. I like the idea of the bottom fix and will do that. The only problem I’ve had is the top lock quit working. Any ideas on that?

Also put wax on the drawers mating surfaces. Basically lube both sides! Great video!
Thought about getting one of these myself but I just carry the same stuff all the time really.
Its not a bad thing to have if you have clustered counters in your room with knives and flashlights lol.

Is gulf wax the same as candle wax? Can I just use some wax from a used candle to wax the drawers?
Joseph Ouellette if it is a non scented candle yes. You don’t want a scented candle because they tend to be sticky over time.
I bought one for my wife as a jewelry box. I would love to have one of my own but would need a cabinet and middle box to go along with it.
Funny I also got it for a jewelry box. I have a lot of biker style big rings, and wide leather bracelets, I even have a section in there for my edc knives. And pocket watches.
what size are the bottom protectors? and screw size also.

Hi what is Gulf Wax never heard of it, is it a better drawer/zipper lubricant than bees wax or candle wax?
Rob C gulf wax is sold in the food canning section at Walmart. It can be used for candles and in my opinion it is a better lubricant than bees wax because sometimes bees wax is sticky if it’s not pure.

Instead of removing the bottom screw from the corner protector plate why not stick the rubber pads a bit lower just to clear the plate, they don't need to be on top of it.
POLYMER GRIP you could do that, but I wanted to have the screw for extra security and didn't want to drill any extra holes.
OK, I see your point, good idea! Anyhow, I just mentioned because the pads I purchased come with a super strong rubberized tape on the back and once you stick them on wood they won't move or come off that easy, they are like welded to the bottom of my tool box, very secure and without screw.
what is EDC ? nevermind, i carry a licence, car keys and a bank card.
Piece of crap. I have a full box of expensive stones and gems stuck in here. Locked it and we cannot get it opened. We have tried everything. We watched every video had other people look at it. We are going to have to drill out the lock. Hopefully we don’t hit the drawers. Any advice?

You have to be kidding. Over 5 minutes to show how to wax the slides and put feet on the bottom. What a waste of youtube bandwidth and my time. Only one reason for this video and that would be so you could see yourself on youtube.
