Burr did try to walk towards Hamilton, but his second ushered him away, so he wouldn't be seen by the doctor. Burr was very persistent however, and wouldn't leave until the second checked on Hamilton. This seems to imply Burr didn't intend to kill Hamilton, but it's more likely this was just shock from having killed him. Burr went throughout the rest of his day normally, acting as if nothing had happened, he even joked to his daughter about how fun it was. So Burr probably didn't have any regrets
