I really think that this one is probably the most underrated out of the original games. It gets such a bad reputation from the control stick rotating mini-games that people tend to overlook a lot of the great aspects this one brought to the start of the franchise. I think that for this one to be enjoyed to its fullest, you definitely need a full party of four or even three people and just go all-in for a good time knowing that it's a flawed yet fun experience. When I first revisited this game with my fiance I was just not having a good time with it. I had remembered loving it when I played it back in high school, so that probably didn't help going in with such high expectations. Still, with all its flaws it managed to grow on me over time as we played to unlock all the boards in the game. Because of the nature of some of the boards (such as Peach's Birthday Cake), I definitely think you need to play at least 35 turns to get the most enjoyment out of it all, but good fun can still be had at 20 turns. I always said that if some of the features from MP2 had been ported over to this one (such as the updated mini-games and items) this one would be a pretty good match for 2 and 3. While a lot of the mini-games had potential they were lacking the polish that 2's games had and often times it does feel like you are just playing reskinned versions of the same games, while the more enjoyable ones were rarely chosen. (Let's not even get started on the cruelty of Bash'n'Cash!) Despite all the flaws with some of the board mechanics and the mini-games, this one still brought so much to the table with all the unique gimmicks the boards had and all the extra blocks you could bring into play once you bought them! (A feature that should have stayed, I think.) This one has since moved from being pretty low on my ranking to being a contender for top 3 spots!
No problem! I'm excited for Superstars since it might actually be the first "normal" Mario party title in a while, but we'll see. In the near future I'll be covering 2 and 3. I might move straight into the GameCube Mario Party's 4 through 7, or I might take a break if I'm all Mario Party'd out, and cover something else. But either way I'll be putting out content
23:43 gave me a good laugh But Great video! Growing fast bro Keep it up.

Can't wait for Mario Party 2!
Thanks for the video! I never played many of the MP games, so it’s nice to get that perspective before Superstars. Which games will you cover?

4:24 I never realized this was how the mini games were determined. I thought it was random.
22:34 wait, why does coin shower count more than other games towards the mini game star? Is it based on how many coins you get in mini-games?
Yes
Pedal power burned my hand. Solution? Use a different spot on my hand.
Sounds about right 🔥
I really liked the part when he started talking about super Mario party.
20 used to be the minimum turns and now it’s the maximum?
Why does Luigi own an airship?
He doesn't?
@@nintendoboy3605He is talking about the BOARD Luigi’s Engine Room in this game. He canonically owns an airship in the game.
@@vortexluigi Yeah my bad I forgot that board takes place in an airship.
@@nintendoboy3605 ts ok
Why is Peach’s castle a cake?
I don't think its supposed to be a castle
