I find that traditional Barbour models fit true to size and Barbour International do run slightly smaller.
You say there are other waxing videos out there? Perhaps true, but no video review compares to yours. Thanks for sharing.
You've developed a beautiful patina on the jacket over the years! I own a very different waxed cotton jacket, the Rogue territory supply jacket in dark brown with a cotton lining. I rewaxed it after a year of wear, it definitely brings a lot of the original look and feeling back to the jacket. I think rewaxing provides that extra bit of protection to keep the cotton in check, it makes it wear down less I feel. I recommend that you rewax it!
Good advice, I can imagine that when "dry" the cotton fibres may be more prone to wear

It will definitely wear if you let the wax get too thin. I've got mine for 8 years now and although I wax it every year, today I saw the first little holes appear at the bottom of one the sleeves. It's a bit wrinkled on that spot and now the material has given in. Still wondering if I sent to a local repair shop are back to Barbour for repairs.
Performance is poor in heavy rain. Mine let in so much water in a heavy downpour I was soaked to the skin. They look good but definitely only showerproof at best
It can be hit and miss, but I was out in this on Dartmoor a couple of weeks ago and got soaked, I could feel the water running down my legs through my jeans but under the jacket was fine... definitely not the best tool for the job though for all weather walking etc
Quality products You can vary breathability v waterproof by varying the amount of wax ie more wax more waterproof You need some extra wax on contact points and seems

@@DevonReviewer I got the Ashby as it’s more of the traditional style but slimmed down. I love it to bits, got the optional hood and zip in liner for it, keeps the rain out well 👍
One question, did you feel that the jacket got a little bigger with use?

How does this compare to the barbour Bedale? Is this more of a daily jacket or a motorcycle jacket?
The Bedale originated as an Equestrian coat. It's not quilted like this one. The Duke is styled as a motorcycling jacket.
To me, the variation in colour means you need to send it off for a re-wax.
