    I feel like she’s overly concerned about semantics. After eradicating these pests, who the Mexican and US governments depend on to fill their pockets…. We can polish up the definition of what a “cartel” is. Remember… our government could stop the influx of dangerous people and drugs into this country in 24 hours. Our government encourages this activity and even arms the players.

    that's bullshit, Sinaloa Cartel didnt follow their model. Everybody knows Sinaloa cartel relies on admiration of the ppl not on fear hence their longevity and power. You dont hear many ppl praising zetas in songs, but most songs are dedicated to Sinaloans because ppl see them as saviors in a world where government doesnt do shit when there is a need. There was even a parade at chiapas of regular citizens welcoming Sinaloans From Mayo Faction, because they fought away cjng who were extortioning regualr ppl. And despite ppl asking government for help they never showed up. Therefore, I can vouch Sinaloa is one of the safest place for decent people. However, there are regulations for sketchy ppl, any type of activity considered "corrientada" "low quality behavior" bears its corresponding consecuence. In other words, those who are planning to come to sinaloa with mischevous deeds in mind I suggest you otherwise, no one is sleek enough for the scope of THE PEOPLE.

    I lived in the RGV in 1989-90, and what she says is true. Because of the culture and economic model that is more feudalistic than anything, the cartels in Mexico more closely r3semble the Sicilian mafia and organized crime in the US in the 1950s and 1960s. Not exactly, but that is somewhat the idea.

    • @roberthipolito1351
      @roberthipolito1351 2 месяца назад +3

      That's more or less what they used to be like. Back then they'd mostly solve things with money or blackmail, and would leave the local populace alone.
      After the zetas they've evolved into paramilitary/insurgent groups. Commiting atrocities, using violence to solve problems, fighting the military head on.

    • @shaneodwyer6132
      @shaneodwyer6132 2 месяца назад

      They conquer territory and then profit or extort from every legal and illegal business within the area. They tax drug loads or migrants passing through the territory. This is why controlling the border is so crucial to profits, power and success.

    • @marcelojohnson1373
      @marcelojohnson1373 Месяц назад

      It really is feudalism specially nowadays that they are fighting for even smaller portions of territory.
      Just in the Tamaulipas border you have 3 CDG cells who fight against each other and the CDN
      And as with feudal lords it is like flipping a coin, some might be "benevolent" and just stick to illicit business but you can also get sociopaths who will extort the shit out of mom and pop shops. For example in my city a few years back the local boss just asked money from bars and nightclubs but then he got caught and the next guy started doing kidnappings as well as extorting businesses
      For example CDG Matamoros is the "main branch" and get income from smuggling (drugs and people)
      But CDG in SLP which is further south secure the routes but also control street drug dealing as a side income, and then the regional bosses in the cities and towns might diversity further, involving themselves in kidnapping, prostitution and even cattle rustling.
