One thing many aren’t asking or thinking through is, “how are precursors made?”. Just like synthetic pharmaceuticals, fine synthetic compounds are made from chemicals generated from petroleum fractions. Petroleum contains such an amazing soup of molecules that can be broken and recombined in an almost infinite number of ways, and that capability is where modern medicine…and unfortunately that includes synthetic opiates, comes from. In an intelligence aspect, it would be valuable to identify and observe where a country makes platform chemicals, how much are produced and where they go, and what facilities receive them.

I think you hit the NAIL on the head. 😊 You watch in so many cities in the US now, with the average citizens screaming about the housing and mass migration of people ( and most are the ones who will work HARD jobs) not all are criminals. YES there are big out crying at public meetings. To what aval, no one else cares. I look at TV shows Like ( Breaking bad) it made ( METH) a pop culture thing. Look everyone a teacher who had cancer just started making METH because he knew how. Add TV drama into the plot line and you make him a HERO. I truly never understood that about glorifying making METH. I feel sorry for the user that pumps in FENTANYL to his system and dies. But who are the biggest consumers of Mexico DRUGS. It is the US we are the users. No one is stopping me from DRINKING ( wild turkey) but that is legal you say, still doesn't stop the Deaths from Legal hard high proof boz. Will it take till the Deaths from Fentanyl, where dealers have NO user anymore to STOP this. Americans need a hard look in the mirror to see where their real problems lay
Brilliant point on having a mission orientation vs strategy orientation. I do want to make a minor distinction on "Chinese government run pharmaceuticals" state-sponsored is a more appropriate term. The money is flowing from the state to support the build up of industry. It can still very much be individuals operating who would not have the consensus of the top statesman or the people themselves if the situation was brought to the public
It's not helping that drugs and their use are glorified in the media, movies, music industries etc. Every rapper now looks like a dirty meth head that's never had a bath, nor do they even have any real talent. They're helping to lead the next generation into that life by normalising it and as stated glorifying it! The drug problem needs to be dealt with from a lot of different angles. Sadly America I have absolutely no faith in your incompetent politicians to do it. Their track record has proven the past 20 years they destroy everything they touch!

Why do we think the drug war would work when the prohibition didn’t? Making it illegal makes for a great revenue source for criminals. I don’t like the idea of making it legal but if we legalize it, provide some safer choices for drug users, and get some tax revenue to provide resources to help people would it be better? Regarding china, having us all messed up with drugs gives them a way to undermine our society without firing a shot.
What surprises me is that such fact is in the open yet it is ignored again and again. I guess people are too afraid of the looks of legalizing hard drugs more than the disaster prohibition is.

Im disappointed watching another video of people unwilling to admit yo the reality of the situation. To stop drug crime, u have to remove the incentives and motivation. That means, eliminating poverty, inequality, lack of opportunities, and risk/reward ratio. In other words, ALL of society, from people, law, and government, need to take responsibility and have a personal stake in making sure that there are jobs for everyone, that those jobs pay a living wage, and that the potential reward for pursuing illegal activities does not outweigh the reward for a regular job. This will undoubtedly mean addressing demand for drugs, which means again addressing the social conditions of inequality and poverty. Honestly, i dont think Americans are enlightened enough to even want this problem solved. People like the idea that they are better in some ways to others and believe they deserve a better life, a better job, more money, better opportunities, etc. Americans want or need to be able to point at homeless people or addicts and say those people are whats wrong witj life, because they would otherwise have to face the reality of either taking personal accountability, or demanding accountability of those who have enough power and influence to not be held accountable for contributing to societies problems that cause poverty, inequality, and related issues like drugs and crime. The only solution is to adress the root cause. Or we could legalize drugs, but thats simply another solution that Americans couldnt even imagine. There's far to many people that are unwilling to even dream about considering a solution that involves sacrificing their virtues for the sake of reason or the greater good. So thats where we are right now..... Hourd long discussions about problems where we are unwilling to even mention realistic solutions because we cannot imagine changing our own lifestyles, behavior, or values regardless of the potential outcomes.
