I work for Terminix I’m a sales rep.
I always encourage people to check the corners of the mattresses if you’re ever staying at any hotel resort during traveling occasions
Bed bugs like to hide on the corners of the mattresses 95% of the time

I learned to do this the hard way. The only time I've ever had something like bed bugs was from a hotel in Vegas and not some ghetto hotel either. Now I always check regardless of the star rating of the hotel

My man Eddy, could you please explain how to properly inspect a room and bed for bugs? Should I aways have a little flashlight and card with me? Now, when I'm driving on road trips, I always bring my own pillows, sheets and blanket and bath towel, slip on shower shoes and a bottle of lysol, clorox wipes to hotel . I wipe down everything, including remote with wipes and hit with lysol, also hit toilet with lysol, I don't blame cleaning ladies because they only get a short amount of time to clean each room and their job is hard enough without a knucklehead with a lysol bottle barking at them so I just clean it and let it air out. Problem is when I fly I can't very well bring a 55 gal steel drum filled with funk remover and herpe killer with me so I bring my bath towel, 2 pilloecases, a small bottle of lysol and do what I can, only issue is when they don't remove sheet off mattress and leave the old one from night before with big bertha and bubba doing God knows what on my future bed. I don't know why I driveled on with a bunch of boring facts about life in hotel with Maximus, Big Bertha , and Bubba but I digress (I think that's how I use that word) and get back to my original question_ Please help me learn how to inspect my hotel bed for bedbugs. Thanks Edward

You wanna know the worst bed bug infestation spots…. Theaters. I worked at a AMC for a year and also a couple months at a Regal, you would be surprised by the people that complained about itching/bites they would receive while watching movies and carrying these home. You have to take into consideration how many people sit in those chairs a day back to back without them being properly cleaned. Chances you are taking bed bugs or lice with you when leaving the seats. I know at Regal we would do deep cleans but not as often, can’t say the same for AMC.

It's not like bed bugs were discovered in "room 1002" and we took care of it. Hotels say that, but the bugs are everywhere. Bed bugs know how to crawl between rooms without a room key. I've been reminded to keep my luggage away, and not on top of, the bed while going to a hotel. Bed bugs might crawl inside. You end up bringing home souvenirs you don't want.

Bedbugs are everywhere. It doesn't matter how much you paid for a room. I would bet my bottom dollar that every single hotel in Las Vegas has had bedbugs. A hotel can have zero bedbugs one day, and have them the next day. Depends on what is in the suitcase that stayed in the room before you. You can get bedbugs in an airplane, you can get them in a theater. It is all in how the property handles the problem.

The property refuses to hire a CERTIFIED exterminator however, the Maintenance guy recently confirmed that the bed bugs originated from the couch that was provided. The property insists that it was her who brought them in. After doing MUCH research on bedbugs it has been stated that they can live up to more than a year without a host. I had a similar experience when I started doing home care as a therapist. I had never seen a bed bug in my life. I walked into a home one day to visit a child and the mom said “I’m cleaning; can you see her in the bedroom?” Went to the bedroom accompanied by mom who immediately saw a bug on the bed. She appeared to be shocked stating “omg a bug” and immediately picked it up and tossed it out the window 30 stories down. I glanced at it and didn’t realize until many years later that I had actually encountered a bed bug. Over the years, I learned to try to provide services in school, in office or library but even schools and libraries at times have had bed bug infestations.

My question is why do the Hotels WAIT for Consumers to tell them they have unsanitary conditions. It's GREED pure and simple on the part of hotels. The rooms are so small the management could instruct their staff to place IONIZERS in rooms on a roving plan.
Another question or statement on my part is I now understand what all the Hotels are charging consumers Resort Fees including Bed Bugs. Nasty the inspectors should have shut down the entire floor.

Yikes. About six months ago, I woke up to a cockroach on my back in the middle of the night. I had no shirt on so it was on my skin. Thankfully I left the light on, so I saw it on my back when I turned my head. I immediately flicked it off. I thought it would run away but it just stayed still on my bed for a few seconds, I had no tissue, so I ran to the bathroom, grab some tissues and smacked it with it. That did the trick. Went back to sleep soundly. Lol

Every time I go to Vegas, the Tropicana is mainly where I go because of the chill areas. But each year I've gone, I've literally seen the same housekeepers and houseman "cleaning" the same areas and each time I went back the day after, trash would be in the exact same spots from the day before. Their problem at this casino is that they're so focused on homeless people that they can't do their jobs. Not only do they have a bed bug problem but they have rodent problems as well. Outside in front of the Tropicana, you can hear and see rodents running around. Most of the casinos on the strip are over 40 years old and need to be torn down for something more useful, imo
