I had a friend who went missing in 2018 with a similar situation as Yohanes was in. My friend's wallet, phone, and car were found untouched near the bridge as well. He still hasn't been found to this day but in our hearts we hope he still out there perhaps living under an alternate identity. I hope this young man is found well and ok because this situation brings back so many vivid memories of the incident that I wouldn't want anyone else to experience.
Edit: I think it’s important for me to mention that he was showing signs of depression but it was so subtle that you couldn’t even tell. Always be sure to check up on your friends and family because sometimes it’s easy for them to hide their true feelings…

Relocates for job in the hub of technology, a busy time for a college grad with tech related degree.. at what point does depression overtake excitement? A day or two? Maybe… even things out some.

well it does not look good that they found his wallet and phone and not him. It looks like he didnt get far either if that the visitor center. I'm shocked they have no lead with cameras all over the place how the hell do they not know who took him. He didn’t commit suicide, because why would he leave his home with his book bag, containing two laptops if he was going to end his life? He could’ve just left with his phone and left the bag at home. He may have been going to meet a coworker. Hopefully the police are actually investigating this case seriously and there are some competent people in the workforce.

It's so crazy how cameras are so conveniently blurry when it comes to finding someone they aren't really interested in finding, but will be conveniently clear and have precise info of last location when they want to catch someone that "fits the description"😒. I hope that he's found soon and authorities arent dragging their feet!

They usually start investigating after 48 hours, which is insane because after 48 hours the suspect is usually dead. I don’t understand the logic, but better to find a person dead than alive apparently.

He took a uber and went missing? So what did Uber and the driver say about this?
A high school friend of mine also went missing on the Golden Gate Bridge in 2020. She was dropped off there by an Uber and her backpack was found hidden in a bush by the bridge. Unfortunately, it was a foggy day so the cameras didn’t catch her movements once leaving the car. I hope the detectives are able to go over the bridge footage and get some leads this time. Praying that he returns home safe.

There is another more in depth story to this that i read about that Uber driver! Yohannes texted his friend saying the Uber driver was refusing to take him where he asked because it was dangerous, he wasnt feeling safe and he was not going to take uber again once this was over. That driver was allegedly intervieved and needs to be looked into more on depth! This young man is a young, attractive, successful and works for an industry that could have caused some trouble for him in some way...this case deseves more notoriety and publicity! Find Yohannes!!!!!!!!

Why is there no information about the Uber driver? The company log their drivers’ trips. It isn’t hard to get since they’re already in Silicon Valley. All the tech out there used to surveil people and they still get grainy cctvs and can’t identify locations. I hope he is found. I hope people who saw him come forward. The reporter SAID the car had what APPEARED to be an Uber sticker on it. So it could have been a fake sticker, a person may have thought it was a sticker or an Uber driver who was not actively working.

Was definitely being exploited in Texas, Nevada, and Colorado. Was so so happy to find out I was getting an extra 1000 a month just for working in California.

My friends cousin went missing in the same area. His family asked the authorities for surveillance and they refused citing it was “Federal grounds”. Years later, no sign and his family cannot get closure.
Unfortunately San Francisco is not Shenzhen, otherwise the authority will be able to record all movements of everyone including the criminals with way more advance facial recognition. The U.S now is more backward than China.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. I hope there is some kind of misunderstanding and that he is found safe. It is so sad to me that people move to this country in hopes of a better life for their children and something like this happens. Totally assumption on my part of their cirucumstances. I would think though at the cafe though there should be footage. Sounds like he jumped though . I remember a gal taking a taxi to the golden gate bridge. She was in high school. She left high school, took the taxi. Then jumped from the bridge

i swear yall just be saying anything. dude took a uber to the bridge left all of his belongings and hopefully didn't jump. but cases like this sound all to similar person talks to family. family thinks there fine they go missing someone finds there belongings then eventually a body shows up in the water i hope its not true but just being realistic. bridge has way to many cameras on it and it doesn't take much for the police to track his movements and the uber driver. there being quiet cause they know what happened

Cause to me it sounds like a young kid who probably stressed out and depressed from school moved across the country got a new job and still didn’t find internal peace and decided he didn’t want to keep going on. And no more times then not when someone’s stuff is found at a bridge ALL OF THERE STUFF UNTOUCHED they most likely jumped that bridge alone averages 30 to 40 suicides a year that’s around 3 people people a month
