Never trust a state like Nevada just look at their phony laws and how they operate? They lured more people in instead of doing the right thing and actually trapping people as if this isn’t a cyber attack ~ we are fully operating? Why didn’t they shut down since the ceazers incident? They were hitting small town casinos in the past year and asking for large ransoms. Many businesses have been hit in the past 5 years. Some had to completely shut down, some paid the ransoms to be back up operational. We have been warned about this for decades, and our own utility infrastructure is so susceptible, yet not much is being done to upgrade and protect. This was an excuse to blame it on an employee as a scapegoat. They didn’t have effective security measures in place.

When is the last time you've heard of a 'hacker' being arrested and sent prison???
I've never heard of that, and if it does happen it doesn't happen often... These businesses are losing hundreds of million of dollars, they should band together and hire a band of mercenaries comprised of computer tech geniuses AND hard hitting combat vets who can locate and 'run them to ground' and put some hands on these assholes!!!
And if some of them get hurt or killed well what can I say, 'Play stupid games and win stupid prizes!'........The FBI has had a cyber unit for years and they are either incompetent or impotent to do anything about this type of situation... Look how they try and hide all the danger? Look what they let happen in 2017? Lombardo was once sued for braking law. These people think just because they follow unconstitutional laws and make laws to make it impossible for people to have a way of defending themselves is still not tyranny or communism. Here they should have let people know to stay home instead they said they were fully operational? The Maui fires was sketchy and their police chief is from Las Vegas? We have a pattern here.

The cyber attack on MGM is truly remarkable. With three decades of experience in the field of Information Technology, it is not surprising that I anticipated such an event. The casinos, known for their unscrupulous practices, are subject to stringent regulations. This incident can be viewed as a classic case of one rogue outsmarting another, or, to put it differently, a pirate who loathes seeing another pirate with a larger bounty.

If hacker can take down casinos, who absolutely do not half-ass their security measures, they can take down some very big organizations, even the government.

Hackers demand ransoms to stop attacks. I’m sure the casinos capitulated with their demands. These types of hacks have hit industry, banking, city governments, and school districts. Power supply companies and nuclear facilities, and social media giants. By now we’ve all been hacked sadly.

I think it is a case of hackers getting tired of all casinos worldwide, taking advantage of citizens of the world and robbing them of their hard-earned cash and dignity. I suspect that something like this will occur here in South Africa, in due course. I personally do not pity any casino that was cyber attacked or is going to get cyber attacked... Sorry, but that is just my thoughts on this.

Are you a Nevadan? That explains the thought process. Your state is a drunken mess ~ hence it’s been happening and instead of shutting down they stayed open sort of like the titanic playing music when the ship was sinking. It’s what happens when you become so corrupt and you think nothing can stop you. Just because you have advanced technology doesn’t mean the basics can’t work. Your casino mentality type people are clueless.
