I've got a friend who is LE, his department just switched to G45's with holosun 509Ts, he doesn't have a particular interest in firearms, or new tech but he said that he probably wouldn't shoot with irons again on any pistol. He said the qualification scores have drastically improved throughout the entire department.
I believe it. I’ve hunted with rifles and bows since I was a kid. I’ve carried a pistol since I was able and go to the range not more than average. I added a holoson scs to my Glock 47. I used three steel targets that decrease in size, smallest being about a half dollar size. I hit all targets with ease from 20 yards away my first time. It’s like having a laser tag gun or playing in a video game. That’s how I would describe it to a new person.
I shot with optics before irons, and learned to build guns before shooting. Shooting optics was basically 2nd nature. I still have a habit of looking at the back of my gun more than the target when shooting irons.
Also with red dots you can more easily train a proper trigger pull. You can really notice a pulled shot when looking at a dot compared to irons.
I wouldn't carry holocrap if my life depended on it sorry. I'll stick with my issued aimpoint.

Arron Cowan from sage dynamics signed off on it, and the reticle options are amazing for a pistol for less than 300 bucks, but you do you.
1:11 “500 to 800,000 rounds”. Now that’s dedication! 🤠
A red dot is a game changer. I'm now going through the financially painful process of putting dots on all my pistols.
You won't regret it!
The fact you can completely modify a Glock speaks volumes of the platform in my opinion. The simplicity of the weapon system is what makes it perfection, not that you switch out parts to make it perfect. People discount the fact you can be your own gunsmith.
I can take a functional Glock, take it apart to its 34 components and put it back together with nothing but a 3/32 punch pin in about 5-10 minutes for the entire process. There is no other pistol platform like that on the market.
Purchased a glock45 from landon tactical. Undercut, apex trigger, ameriglo sights, speed feed, stippling extended mag release. Set me back almost $1400. Couldnt be happier.
1911 iron sights devotee here. And yet I'm not gonna yell at you about it, nor tell you you're wrong. Always enjoy watching your videos, including this one. I look forward to them. Great presentations, & I always learn something. I am a big proponent of Mr. Clint Smith's philosophy on firearms, "Be a student of weaponscraft, rather than just a master of one."
Forward Controls plates FTW. The fit on my RMR plate is so good I had to do one click of windage and no elevation when I last did a battery change. Can't beat them.
Solid video overall, it's refreshing to see practical and pragmatic changes suggested rather than throwing all of Glockstore at the problem
Walking through the field in the beginning was so good.
When we were filming out in the fields we could not stop thinking of Gladiator so we had to do it.
I am entertained.
It reminded me of the wheat fields in Frank Miller's "300".
I really like your videos. Clearly you know what you're talking about. I saw the title to this video, "3 Easy & Proven Glock Upgrades That Make a Big Difference" and I thought to myself, "Oh no, he mentioned in another video to leave the gun alone and NOT upgrade it" and I agree especially if your Glock is your EDC. But then I watched your video.
Most people these days seem to trick out their Glock by replacing the barrel, recoil spring, trigger and or trigger assembly, slide (among other things) and to me this compromises the reliability and integrity of a weapon that already works. I am happy that you didn't do what many others do and that is to mess with the already reliable parts of the gun but instead, talk about other upgrades that have no bearing on the mechanical operation of the gun.
Well done!
Thanks! We appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching.
A gun nut with a sense of humor, the rarest specimen of all.
I really enjoyed this video. Very informative and gets the mind thinking about what's needed for individual use.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Red dot hate is poor man's cope.
Using the word cope in that manner is gay as fuck. Tell me you’re under 30 and have been shooting for less than a decade without telling me.
Iron sights are strictly for vibe now. 😂
The radian ramjet is a terrific/expensive option
Lots of folks seem to like the ramjet. I don't have any personal experience with it, but plenty of experience with comps in general. On a carry hand gun in general comps are not needed at all.
So expensive
I subbed immediately when I saw the Glock in the wheat field. Also, red dots are like cheating, and I will never not have one on a defensive pistol.
I believe by the end of the decade you will be able to buy pistols that do not even have irons and have dots CNC’d into the slide itself.
Thanks for the sub!
Good info, but I totally disagree on the "small" front site. I have the XS big dot sites and love them. Worth every penny.
“….Quality plate like CH precision…” sorry you lost me there 😂😂😂
My first Glock (and first pistol) was a G20 I bought around 2007. The grip was too slick, so I took the cheap way out - As suggested here, I took an old bicycle tube and hacked off a chunk, then slid it over the grip.
It improved the grip IMMENSELY.
My most recent glock is a 19X, and the sights are the one thing everyone agrees on - those steel sights are what everyone should move to with Glock.
G47 Gen 5. First think I did was put on a red dot. The seam isn't too bad on mine and the sights came night sights from the factory (Blue Label for military). I added a Streamlight TLR-1HL and changed to the Glock Performance Trigger (don't tell Glock I did it myself, it wasn't all that hard). That gun is now my primary carry and my competition gun
I’ve always been so bugged out to try any internal upgrades on my Glock outside of the dots and lights. Great video! Thank you for the phenomenal products.
Appreciate the feedback.🤙
I greatly appreciate that you take the time to provide content on the lowely Glock. I have several of your products. I enjoy your no nonsense videos and advice.
Honestly the grip of a shadow systems is the reason I switched from Glock and the sights
Ken Hackathorn is soiling his depends. Love my green dot sights and I'm old too.
Step 4 bonus get holdout scs mos no plate needed direct mount
Try the XS Big dot sights for your carry gun. They are easier to pick up than a red dot, especially under stressful training.
I've been a Glock LE armorer for over 20 years and now work in a gun shop... mods I see from customers that do no good: fancy barrels. Most of the newer shooters can't shoot as good at the factory barrels...so spend the money on ammo not gold bling and stuff. In our area, the person who approves civ CCWs won't allow after market triggers...so check before switching... the factory Glock triggers are not the best but can be improved. I've been shooting for about 50 years and optics are the best thing to happen in many years. but they have to be installed correctly.
Even with steel sights, I'm amazed that the front sight stays on glocks with that tiny, tiny screw.
As long as you install them properly they are usually fine but yes, something other than the tiny screw would probably work better.
Loctite.
I have to say that first part of the video looks like gladiator movie 💪💪💪
Thank you, for what you still do for the rest of us.....
Red dots are superior
I'm a shooter for almost 3 decades and Glocks are my preferred handguns. This video has no BS recommendations on maximizing your $$ on the upgrades that makes the most improvements - grip and sight picture.
Thanks for the comment.
@tenicorusa loving your content! The Matrix and Gladiator intros were 🔥🔥🔥 Next up you need a Bladerunner or Predator intro 👏🏽
Working on it!
Trigger, sight & ported barrel ftw
Red dots star burst on me. The light fills the entire glass and makes them pretty much useless. I've gotten really good with my irons.
Well done.
Jeff is a damn good shooter… what is he talking about?! Some folks really need to see these tips, folks spend too much modifying their Glocks.
Better to keep them simple and practical. No need for a lot of the stuff out there, at least for a carry or duty gun.
@@tenicorusa well said.. love the content brother.
Sights and range time is all a Glock needs.
Every time you feel the need to modify the gun, spend that money on ammo and suck less at shooting.
Awesome job brother RLTW!
Solid video. Thanks!!
Red dots are cheating. But in a game where only the winner lives, cheating is just good strategy
I have been trying to remove the slide on Glock 17 even with the yellow tool. It feels like it's hitting something. I know why I never wanted one. Better to buy a better pistol.
Just buy a Smith & Wesson M&P in whichever model with the new blade trigger and you are good to go. No upgrades needed.
The M&P is a good choice.
Glock is the Harley Davidson of the gun world. You buy it, tear it down, and make it better.
The gladiator scene had me dying 😂😂
Glad to hear it.😂
Fantastic- video, thank you 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
next time, post the stuff u are showing in the video.. there are like 200 different ameriglo sights.. which ons are u using?
Gripshield is a clear alternative to liquid chalk.
I used to think blacked out rear was good until realizing that shooting in the dark was basically impossible.
I really like my i-dot iron sights, but I love my red dot sights better!
Less expensive, not cheap. Good sights less cost!
I wasn’t able to shoot a Glock without putting a bandaid on my trigger finger where it was making contact with the trigger safety. Johnny Glock trigger shoe solved that issue for me. In fact I would recommend upgrading the entire trigger kit with JG. Don’t waste your money on the Glock Performance trigger.
Have you encountered any reliablity issues? Thinking of doing the shoe on my 4 3x but am open to it all.
Not yet…
h-e-double hockey stick yea bro!
Thanks for watching!
Hey Tenicor - if im balling on a budget what is a good option besides the rmr HD for a 19.5 MOS? What is your preferred holosun choice?
Check out the Leopold DPP
Holosun EPS, 507 or 509.🤙
@@tenicorusa why carry over standard EPS if you don't mind me asking?
@nicka4832 Actually meant EPS. Good catch.
@@nicka4832 The EPS carry and not the EPS is the way to go with a concealment gun. You want the smallest optic that is practical for use. As opposed to a competition gun that you'd want a really large window. The EPS Carry is pretty much even with a G19 slide. In my mind this is about perfect.
Excellent video!
Thanks.🤙
When u train and shoot on a weekly basis, whether it be training or matches, u find that optics arent that big of an expenditure.
True, they are worth it.
100%
Red dots “mandatory?” No hate, from me, regarding red dot optics, but, that which helps many shooters can be quite unhelpful to those of us with astigmatism, who see an asymmetric flare, rather than a neat, tidy dot. The red dot optics that do work for me are larger that is best for concealed carry, and work best when mounted farther from my eyes than the rear of a slide.
I train w sweaty hands because if I’m in a real life situation I’m not going to tell the assailant “Give me a sec so I can rub dirt and liquid chalk on my hands bro.”
Thank you 🖖 😊
No problem, thanks for watching!
People love glock, but after buying one they need to do upgrades. Today Glock its old gun, it just stay on reliability
Nobody has been able to explain to me how to put a red dot on my Glock 19 gen 3.
Thanks for the comment. Send the gun to CHPWS and get the slide cut for the dot you want to put on it.
@@JeffMauActual CHPWS?
Google it@@danr4746
Use Dove mount, or some dot plate on rear sight trail.
Someone in your area will mill the slide for some money
Thanks first time seeing ur videos.Simpler the better I'm gonna do mine G-22
Could you do a video about changing the G 22 Gen 4 to a 9mm or is it worth doing ?
Appreciate the feedback. The short answer is the mod is probably not worth doing.
Good points 👍
Nice watch. Watch details please :)
Alright, I'll be the smartass here. The best way to get all of these modifications done to your Glock is to buy an M&P 2.0. 😈 Love your holsters and belts, by the way.
I prefer 80 percent frames and build it how you want it from the ground up
What watch are you wearing Sir?
Less is absolutely more. “It is better to have training and no gun than to have a gun and no training” -James Yeager. Tip #5 get training from a qualified instructor.
Fudd lore
Sure, give someone new to guns a gun and send them on their way. They’ll be just fine.
step 1, buy an M&P. Step 2 enjoy
Or sig 😂 they come with everything they have to modify
@@ghostfitness5605naw I don’t want to shoot myself with a rusty gun because of their terrible finish. Sigs are hot garbage.
Glock 22gen4?
Lollll good point
Step 3. Learn to accept 8-10 inch groups.
Which glock model are you using in the video?
Glock 45.
problem with video like this is that people watch them and think they have to do this. or it gonna make them better.. both is false
if you suck at shooting you will just spend more money to suck at shooting. get you the base gun go buy ammo shoot 1k rounds and then see.. take a class first then see.. changing anything on your gun doesn't help you shoot.. most of the time it hurts you because it makes the gun unreliable..
What are your thoughts about a tungsten steel guide rod?
Thanks for the comment and question. Things like that are completely unnecessary. I would not even give it a second thought.
Glocks are cool. CZ holsters would be even cooler 😉
Maybe someday.
@JeffMauActual what if you have a horrible astigmatism that starbursts all red dots? Thanks
Try the XS Big dot sight.
🤙💥☆"GLOCK"☆💥🤙
But the Glock is perfect!?
Must See TV
Thanks!
CH plates are absolutely awful anymore. I think they make them in china now IMO. Calculated kinetics is bery good
How to upgrade your Glock: turn it in to a S&W M&P.
The M&P is a pretty solid out of the box choice.
Buy MR920 or at least get this guy a Dremel
You could just buy a shadow Systems MR920 which has more features on it.
stuff people who don't compete or enroll in training courses say.
@@RobinsonOhio I did a cold draw from holster with federal HST in my cr920. The second round jammed the gun and a tap rack did not clear, so I would of been dead in a gunfight. I put it in the safe and went back to a Glock 19 with no changes except the sights.
Step 1. Sell the glawk.
Step 2. Upgrade to a HK USP
Step 3. Larp as a hitman in 2000's LA.
Usp best gun
🤣
"500-800,000 rounds in a training session" how much are you rounding up???
I think he meant 500rds, 800rds, or 1000rds per shooting session.
He had to have meant 5k to 8k over a three day weekend.
😂
500, 800 or 1000 rounds in a day.😂
It is stupid to buy a glock if you have to do a bunch of upgrades! Buy a better, cheaper gun.
I have had several Glocks and currently have two, my upgrades were tritium sights and a minus connector on a couple of them, I don't shoot in matches so I don't need ridiculous crap
1. But a different gun. 😁😇 Had to do it.😊
Upgrades your holsters dude ! Your dcc clips poke holes all over tshirt while appendix carrying.
Every single shirt I had got ruined until I realized what the heck was going on and ditched the holster
So go back to carrying cheap plastic shit ?
How tf are you poking holes in your shirts? I've got Dcc clips across seven holsters and have never had an issue. The clips go over the belt, nowhere else
Thanks for the comment.
DCC clips are the upgrade. They are the only clip worth you life. Small holes from the clips, your sights, or you gun are just part of carrying.
Top upgrade…..don’t buy plastic or striker fired guns. 😂
