Teach is the personality, Edward is the reputation. Fun fact, Gold Roger’s IRL inspiration also alluded to a treasure moments before his death. He is considered to be the strongest pirate captain in the world with a massive fleet and a power to cause earthquakes with his hands. What makes him so likable is that while every other pirate in the story (including the main character) is looking for the great treasure called one piece all whitebeard wanted was a family. So he would refer to all of his crewmates as his children. He died trying to save one of his sons from executions at marineford which instigated a massive war between the world government and the whitebeard pirates. What it took to kill whitebeard was truly insane. He was cut 267 times with swords, he was shot 152 times with guns, he was shot 46 times by cannons. He fought a man made of lava who blasted half of his face off and pumped magma into his chest. Despite all that damage his body did not collapse. He died standing after kickstarting a new pirate era. Fun fact you can actually visit his grave in Japan.
He was also Sick and Weaken as well. Also I cryed, I cryed for so many Pirates and 2 Marines in that War. R.I.P Whitebeard & ???. Also the Final Hit(s) was done by Blackbeard D. Teach who was one of Whitebeard's Son and Blackbeard D. Teach's Crew Members, and what even worse is that Blackbeard D. Teach gotten a Curtain had him and Whitebeard underneath it and took Whitebeard's Devil Fruit. It worse to me because I really felt emotional at the time and it started because of Blackbeard!!

You can watch One Pace it's a version of One Piece that chops out the slow pacing and other stuff making it fast to watch. Basically if it's not in the manga they cut it out, all the dragging is cut out of the story.
Want to get caught up on One Piece? Read the manga. Gives you all the essential information and plot without the padding and filler you occasionally find in the anime. Be careful though, One Piece is what those in the know tend to describe as "too f@cking good". In layman's terms, more addictive than crack cocaine.
