- We sail to Wakatobi to explore its world class reefs and meet with the Bajo people. These people are known as the nomads of the sea and now live in a stilt village over the reef near Hoga island. We also welcome on board some new crew for Florence.
We are a British couple who set off from England in 2016 to fulfill our dream of sailing around the world on our 37ft sail boat, Florence. Along the way we share the live aboard lifestyle with the highs and lows of travelling around the world by boat.

Thank you Amy and Matt for taking the kids out sailing and letting them do some meaningful jobs on the boat. What a great group of memories you have provided to them. They will probably carry the memories with them forever.
For me, this is the best sailing channel video ever filmed and shared by any youtubers!!!!! Thank you for the new crew opportunity and for the video...
You guys are awesome! So nice to take the young folks out on your boat.... they will remember that for the rest of their lives!
Whahh😍

Hi Alvin, we were lucky enough to have a day sailing on Florence as well and as you have very fond memories of that day
You were all brilliant 👏❤
I'm so glad you all had fun! You are wonderful children and I'm sure you will grow into great and accomplished adults! Keep smiling..happy is a beautiful thing...
Hi Alvin, Maharani, Rezha and Reza,
Sailing with you was a real highlight for us, we are very happy to have this video as a memory of the time we spent together. :-)
Thanks for everything.
Matt and Amy
Sitting on the sofa in Germany on an autumn afternoon, seeing the sun and the sea and all you beautiful people is a whiff of fresh air. Thank you all!
That was my favorite episode of them all. It was very kind of you to take the kids sailing and I am sure that they will always remember it.
Hi Steve, The 'kids' looked after us so well ashore that it was the least we could do, we had such an awesome time sailing with them, their smiles were infectious!
So heartwarming this episode. Great ambassadors for harmony and understanding other cultures!
Hi guys great videos really enjoyable Australia
My favourite video so far. Amazing to watch you and the gang work together. Sharing your experience and language is an amazing thing to be able to do.
This video is probably my favorite of all the videos of all the sailing channels.
I've enjoyed it immensly thank you
Hi Mat and Amy. i have been off work for two weeks because of the lock down. Every day i have been working on my boat. And every evening watching you on youtube. Thank you for your amazing videos
Probably my favorite episode so far.
I have to admit that this video moved me to tears of joy for the experience you brought to those young people. I was glad for the boys but very proud of you for the opportunity extended to Maharani (the girl).
VERY INSPIRATIONAL - Big thank you.
What a wonderful episode this is. I always like the amount of respect you show to locals, and really interact with them. So much fun to see these kids having fun. You both are doing an awesome job!
This was one of your best episodes! Great that you can give the kids some support!
It is evident that you Amy and Matt are 2 of the most delightful people anyone could ever wish for. Such a joy to watch your videos. By far the best on RUclips. You are so kind, thoughtful and informative. Also very good sailors. Take care, be safe always.
Amazing, always give back and some of your passion will rub off. Brilliant fun, brilliant video. Thank you
This vid represents a wonderful “human touch”. An experience that those youngsters will remember forever and portrays you as the thoroughly decent people that you both are!
This was one of your best episodes
Gifts given and received, they will never forget your generous gift from Florence. Just think, you may be changing lives forever. Imagine what school will be like for them after their exciting day on Florence. I love to see happy children, looks like they jumped the moon. A special video.
"Ils sont vraiment bons" is what the Admiral said this morning. Wonderful video. We're sure you sparked those kids to become sailors when they grow up 😉
I have fallen in love with this channel. It's not the '*best produced* but just really down to Earth. Thanks for highlighting the rubbish problems and giving the kids a sail.
Matt & Amy, we just watched this episode whilst eating dinner on our own boat anchored in the Hauraki Gulf of NZ. And we loved it, one of your best episodes. We are so pleased to be your patreons because of how much yoy ‘give back’ to the communities that you sail into. This is another key differentiator between you and the many other bland sailing channels. Great stuff - keep it up 😊
Hi Guys, thanks for your kind comment and your continued support. We get so much from the people that we meet along our journey that it is nice to be able to give back and share some of what we do with them. cheers Matt and Amy
One of my favorite episodes of yours.. You took the time to enrich the lives of the people you met. Those kids will keep that memory forever! Thank you so much for giving back to the locals in a way that they will always remember! You two are really good hearted folks and that's why I love this channel so much.
Great video, I loved seeing the student on Florence, they couldn't have smiled more! ❤
very generous of you to bring those kids enjoy the sailing as much as you do... that must be one wonderfull memories for them.... and their smile paint the picture....
You do yourselves a great favor by being culturally sensitive to the indigenous groups you visit. Amy's apparel always seems appropriate for traditional customs, even on some occasions wearing a long skirt when western folks would wear shorts. It is no wonder you are so well accepted by these delightful kids and the many others with whom you associate.
Matt and Amy you are both wonderful. So kind and respectful. I wish you so much happiness on the first of your trip.
I have just found your channel and I have to say I have never seen two such genuine people. All channels have their own type of content to entertain but in my opinion you have them beat.
A tremendous opportunity you extended to these students! Your joy of sharing your passion for sailing is exciting to watch! Great video!
I have been going back in time and watched your earlier videos, and, despite the absolute brilliance of you recent (mid 2022) videos, this one is close to my favourite of all time!
just when I think "how could their videos get any better" you take it up a notch. heart warming through and through. but I do think its the string orchestral music that blurs my vision. now on to the next chapter.
Love when locals take pride in showing you around and it is an adorable gesture to reciprocate, by sharing your adventure!!
Fantastic kids...they are good representative for Indonesians...makes me remember how much we loved it there! What a great experience for them! And what a great part of the world you are in!! -Rebecca on SV Brick House
Love the way you guys interact with the locals wherever you are
Friday night wouldn't be the same without the "Florence Signature Tune". Another great HD video with stunning underwater footage. Loved seeing the kids enjoying turns at being "Captain" and their remarkable ability in English language. You do realise that since so many of us are enjoying your videos..........you may have to circumnavigate twice :)
Thanks Martin, The kids were great fun and a second lap is something we talk about on a regular basis although not currently the plan. O.K. well Amy says that it is her plan...
Wow ! I have watched the whole video and you give the right example as how the cruising world could contribute to helping other ppl in the world. It's great. Pity to see however the large pollution in the water.
I am watching all your videos and this one is one of my favourites so far! So wonderful to see your young friends enjoyed sailing! Heartwarming!
Yes they have finally done it. Embrace Piracy & kidnap children. Best episode ever! :)
Keep having fun you two.
Amy, honestly you are an excellent swimmer . . . Matt & Amy, as an Asian particularly here in Southeast Asia we are very hospitable to the foreigners like you ~ Europeans ~ coz once a upon a time you conquered us then colonized . . . always take care of the high seas of the Pacific, Indian, and Atlantic Oceans. Lots of love from #thePhilippines!
What a marvellous way to spread peace and love good job with the new crew 🌍😀
So nice to see you take the time for these children!
Those kids will remember this day for the rest of their lives. What a gift, for all of you.
Yes 😍
The greatest act, is sharing.
Was holding my breath while you were under the water.. diving always makes the skin crawl haha
This episode warmed my heart. It truly touched me. You two are an inspiration to all of us. Thank you.
Matt and Amy, you both are fantastic people! I love how you invited the young people to go sailing!♥️ They will never forget you.
What a beautiful video. I admire how you both seem intent on giving back and leaving as small a footprint as possible. And the children showed just how lucky we are living in such a diversified world.
You two are amazing! My wife and I enjoy watching your interaction with the culture, people and environment. Paying back to the children by taking them for a sail is inspiring! Please keep travelling, as retired teachers we now see the world through your eyes. Thank you so much for the quality of the picture, your interactions with people and the narratives. So enjoyable. Thank you !
Their smiles are adorable!
Loved the video what an awesome way to repay those kids kindness! They will treasure those memories for year to come, as will you guys.❤️❤️
I really enjoy your videos. Your photographic eye is really the best. And the storyline, editing, composition, and technical quality is superb. I look forward to each video and I actually find myself smiling as I enjoy watching. Taking the children sailing was brilliant. Thank you!
You guys are adding to the general happiness of the World wherever you go. Way To Go!
Another truly wonderful episode Mat & Amy! Thank you for sharing your journey - we love your genuine spirit that shines out ! Your interactions with local people are particularly heart warming. Thanks again.
Terrific episode. We really enjoyed it. The smiles on the faces of the young people as they sailed for the very first time mirrored the smiles on our own faces as we enjoyed watching them on what will surely be one of their favorite memories for many years to come. What a great idea to give them this memory of sailing and of yourselves. Lovely of you both.
I want to give you guys a hug, So adorable and kind.
what a lovely group of young people .you should keep them as inturepters . and its interesting that some of the poorest like the pole house peolpe are some of the happiest.im loving all your vlogs, keep them coming.

You two have good souls 👌
I love the way you interact with the locals and the whole vibe of your videos. Thumps up.
Yes, I'm hooked on sailing for fun.
That was a really nice gesture to take them for a sail, their English is very good👍
Paradise and Natural Island...I am very Miss Wakatobi Island.... thanks for you Video, We Love you, We Love your Chanel, 🌊🤽♀️🏄♀️🍹🍻🍾🥥🍌🍍🏝🏖
Well done Florence
One of your good clips!
Chesr
I love the custom Ts!
A nylon drifter and nylon main on a separate track would solve a lot of problems . It would be beneficial for a sailmaker to sponsor you in return for some great coverage . Still the best sailing vlog.
peter jones I think Sailing Nanji.com replaced their sails in Malaisia, perhaps get in though with them?
That was awesome, those kids will remember that moment forever, great job.
What a fantastic episode .... great stuff 😀😀😀
Great video! Impressive english from your new temporay crew :-)!
Great episode!!!!
I loved it! Thank you!
Nice human touch guys 😉 your videos are just getting better and better 👍
You made the children's year, good fun!!!
Cool kids. Good idea of yours to take them out :)
Beautiful footage!
So few people use windvane steering, good to see yours. We circumnavigated with a Fleming and hardly ever touched the helm. Go well!
You're in luck. Since your going to Thailand you can have a set of Rolly Tasker sails waiting for you when you get there. As others have said, beautiful sails. You won't find a better made, more durable cruising sail anywhere. The 115% jib we had made by them is flawless.
Thanks for the recommendation Rob
I truly love this ❤
This is awesome
Matt and Amy...well done! Really beautiful and touching experience for the children and everybody watching.
What lovely kid's - heart warming.
Good work with those kids good on you !
Another excellent video in both content and quality. The underwater footage was awesome. You have given four young people and experience they will remember the rest of their lives. I wouldn't be surprised if they take up sailing themselves. All the best to you both.
Great video those kids were great seeing them smile was beautiful
I had a mainsail full batten made by Chinasunrisesails. 4 years ago You have an option for Bainbridge cloth. It was for our Contessa 32. Very pleased with the quality and price far cheaper than we can get in NZ. Sail maker friend said it was a very well made sail. Love the quality of your last video the underwater stuff was amazing and the footage with you new friends was outstanding. Keep up the good work.Cheers Bob
I like this,it isnt snooty
U guys are great, taking the kids out for a sail. 👍👍👍
A great video your channel just keeps getting better and better.
Best video ever 🥰
Saya yg disitu om hehe
In Phuket there is Rolly tasker sail loft and they could help, they are great.
(@25:45) Once again - Wow! Such stunning scenery! Absolutely breathtaking! :-)
Taking those kids sailing was very cool.👍🏽
Excellent edit work & awesome underwater video shots. Keep 'em coming. . Thanks for sharing.
Wah wah
One of the best videos yet! You made some really good friends their for sure! I really enjoyed seeing the smiles of the kids you took sailing! Great friendship ambassadorship work there!
Another excellent vid....thank you.
FYI.......It seems several popular sailing channels work with Precision Sails out of Canada. The measurement and design process is done online and the finished sails are shipped around the world. My guess is there would be some sort of sponsorship opportunity too....especially for a U.K. vessel sailing around the world.
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
