    You've spun up a bit of magic in this one. It is both gorgeous and wonderful-as in full of wonder. The western coast of Scotland captures the imagination, and when combined with the professionalism and artistic flourish you bring to the table... wow. You've risen above the other sailing vlogs to a place uniquely your own, and I can't wait for each episode.

    You're the most overlooked sailing channel. You are far and away superior to many of the top performers. No drama, no dental floss swimwear, and no clickbait. Absolutely fabulous sailing, photography, storytelling, exhilarating sound, and visuals unmatched. Absolutely no one captures waves like you do. 👏
    Thank you for sharing the world with me. 🌎

    For ages I've been banging on about the beaches of the west of Scotland being some of the most beautiful I've ever experienced in my life, but you guys even have an added bonus of getting to still more remote golden beaches where few humans ever tread.!!
    BUT - tourists take note - what makes for the ideallic "South-Sea-Islands" paradise in Scotland is entirely dependant on the visitor's patience - as you guys clearly pointed out - the weather.!
    I've always been lucky with the weather - what I saw was paradise indeed, the water so clear it was like wading through mineral water!!!
    Without a wet-suit, I let the water just come up to my waist. Many beaches are lagoon shallow so you can wade out quite far, with your feet still on the silky soft sand. The sand bars that you guys observed, help in forming such lagoons.
    If the sun is hot enough, the water will warm up a little, but this year has been bad throughout, even in the south (I have heard the worst for a decade).
    Sail on, good friends - and these days land is always ahoy!!

    What's interesting about places like St Kilda (and I've only seen videos), is that it appears only somewhat interesting on land. You can take a small ferry which is mostly local people - that would be a huge plus. But to sail to St Kilda, there in lies the magic.
    The thing I always try to keep in mind is that modern sailing while easier and much safer, it remains essentially the same as it's always been, wind, sea, tide and sailing.

If its just one line which system is it and do you recommend it . Thanks. The best proper sailing channel been watching you for years, best wishes Nick

    • @SailingYachtFlorence
      @SailingYachtFlorence  Месяц назад

      Reefs 1 & 2 are single line. Reef 3 is two line as there is not enough room in the boom to take up the slack on reef 3. Florence was already set up like that when we bought her and it has worked very well for over 50,000 miles. We definitely recommend being able to reef the sails without leaving the safety of the cockpit.
