I think the chart tells you where you are predisposed to excel rather than where you would be happy. I think we need to make our own destiny while recognizing that going in to something other than what our personality is perfect for is perfectly acceptable as long as we're willing to put in the work. Knowing your personality is very helpful for identifying those areas which may need some work.

I’ve tested INTJ consistently for the past 10 years. I’m finishing Medical school in three months, and I’m going into psychiatry. Played around with the idea of pathology or surgery for a while, but psychiatry fits best.
In particular, I enjoy that I’ll be the expert on mental illness, both diagnostically and therapeutically. If I want, I can have busy clinic and hospital days, I can do long talk therapy sessions, or I can recharge my introverted batteries with less socially intensive electroconvulsive therapy/TMS/neuromodulation days. It’s one of the best specialties in medicine, and I’m glad the field is getting competitive - our patients deserve smart, deeply thinking physicians!
This is verily enthralling, sir. I am an INTJ as well and about to enter Medical School. If you please advise me and tell me what are the specialities would be convenient? I prefer knowing from another intj rather that an estj.

INFJ too. Do people just randomly tell you oddly specific or personal things to you like you're their therapist? So many people I know come to me with their problems and advice.

I'm INFJ but I'm interested in Anesthesiology, Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, Gen Surg, and Emergency Med XD I'm also interested in psych a little bit, but I really am interested in procedures. Starting medical school in August, we'll see where I end up!

I'm an INTP and i've been thinking deeply about becoming a doctor and if it really is for me. Basically, i was turned off by the idea of having to meet with patients the whole day. It's nice to know that there are specialties out there that suit the INTP personality type.

Me too! we're the rarest type even :) and reading about it on 16 personalities proves how accurate it really is, but these career choices here I wouldn't agree with. I think I would much rather pick things from some of the different personality groups listed.

I got ENFJ which I feel matches me so well, however, I dont think that the medical professions matched a specialty for me.

So the Myers-Briggs test was written by two people with absolutely NO psychological training! The test was based off Carl jung’s ideas about how to categorize people based on their personality. Although later he was quoted saying that you can’t put people into personality “boxes” because people aren’t just one of a few different choices, they combine aspects of so many different traits you can’t objectively put someone into a rigid structure. These tests seem accurate because they only list the positive things, or if it is negative it has a positive spin on it. This is done to make people more willing to accept their results even if it says their extroverted when they had previously considered themselves introverted. This test is NOT accurate.
definitely true. I'd like to read Carl Jung's theories on that. where did you read that he said you can't put personality traits into boxes. It's ok if you don't reply.
Beckah's Food Blog well it’s not that I read it somewhere it’s that I’ve learnt it over the years whilst working on my PhD in social psychology. Sorry I can’t help with the sources but I’m sure you could find it on the internet somewhere. I would suggest looking at sites like “psychology today” or watching crash course vids on youtube. They have some pretty good info if your looking to learn a little bit. :)

I believe the Meyers-Briggs test is not completely accurate. During every question I answered, there was a thought process connected to my choice, and often, a personal memory connected to the response I selected, and none of those elements are taken into consideration. It's those personal influences and thoughts that influence the answer given. However, no weight is given to "why" or "what influenced the choice," which ultimately are more telling about one's nature than the simple graded response/result.

I took the personality test prior to this video. I am an ISFJ. I agree with that but I don't agree with the work placement chart.
Istj - I want to specialise in orthopaedic surgery so it’s accurate in my case.

ESTJ right here. I am graduating nursing school in December with my bachelor's and plan on continuing my education and becoming a CRNA once I am able to apply. I definitely agree that these specialties are WAY off for me I think I had the same reaction as you when I read them! Lol.

Whenever I'm sitting behind the drapes pushing drugs and managing the vent I'm very thankful that there are others who like being the surgeon. Definitely not the job for me!
I’m INFJ and yes pathology, Internal medicine and psychiatry interest me-I think pathology or internal most. If I end up becoming a nurse practitioner someday I would explore those areas as a nurse if it’s satisfying then I found it otherwise move on to others.

I would like to pursue a medical career, and my personality type according to Mayers-Briggs is ISFJ. However, I find internal medicine more interesting than the knowledge required to be a general practicioner. But Anesthesiology and Opthalmology could be interesting:)

Mines gave me advocate. For a min I thought god was talking to me about who iam and using a website to talk to me lol idk if everyone got the same description but mines every detail was 101% correct! In still shocked. But if I was younger than 30 I would of become a internal medicine dr. But I'm 30, idk if I can....so I figured CRNA.

Firstly, Myers-Briggs isn't a reliable psychological personality test. Try using the Big 5 (aka OCEAN) for an empirical and reliable personality test. Anyway, I got ENFJ-T which is interesting because in my OCEAN personality test I got 100% assertive (which is right lmao) but I'm planning on going into the OB-GYN field

for me, i’m 13 and so far what i’m interested in is radiology, ortho surgery, and recently neurology! yay me! i got neurology which this can quite possibly be a sign to do it. i loved learning about neurons in science class and maybe wanna do it for sure!
