I love the fact that after Vi takes a drink she just throws the glass at Sevika. Like it wasn't to get some advantage in the fight. It was just pure disrespect like she's saying "F*ck this b*tch. Exclusively."

Right?! I rewind that part just to chuckle. No real point other than a big "fuck you." I also love the expression on Sevika's face as she dodges the glass. She knows hurling it was a proverbial spit in the face, and she may as well have rolled her eyes at it.

@@agustincorales4786 If you look when he visits home after the talk with Mel's mother, he has a drawing clearly from his choldhood of him stood with a great big hammer - I guess it's from a childhood fantasy of him picturing himself as a protector of the people.
The fact that they both allowed the other to take a small breather before trying to kill each other again is a strange way of showing a small bit of respect lol
They do fight pretty honorable for a streetfight. This and letteing eah other always get up when they're downed, already did that in the first fight.

@@gangbangchief Very true, especially in a fight that could end with you being dead. Just watch UFC fighters go from totally gassed to jumping on a guy and reigning down blows to quickly finish an injured opponent.
I noticed that. It's obvious these two women have a history, and you can tell by their interactions and even the way they fight one another that they still know each other well, even after all those years. I also love the petty glass toss, and the look of annoyance on Sevika's face as she dodges it. They may hate one another, but there's also a nuanced understanding of the other there. Both are fierce fighters loyal to the causes they think are best, and are well matched as opponents in their similarities. The writers did a damn good job.
This also explained why Vi and Jayce can swing those oversized weapons around like it is nothing. Hextech also influence gravity as once one of her gauntlets got disabled it suddently became much heavier to lift.
not to mention vi is just stupidly strong and can lift it without that, i think its more of a shift of the weight becoming heavier that caused her to drop. (not to mention in the prior fight vi kicked sevika through a solid cement wall with just her normal feet)
WOW it does make sense tho... Just like when Viktor and Jayce finally managed to get hextech work gravity just turned off that room. Nice catch!

I like how Vander's "Ghost" contrasts Mylo's
Jinx "Hears" Mylo as her insecurities, telling her she's weak and basically mocking her every action. Making her insecure and fueling her anger/paranoia.
Vi hears Vander as a motivation to keep fighting. Not telling her she's weak, but rather "Okay, now what you do is get up and keep fighting" and remembers her of what she's fighting for.
Mylo appears in the shadows, obscured and as a twisted version of himself, with a ghoulish appearance. Vander appears in a bright light as a complete version of himself

Jinx directly hears and interacts with the voices in her head. Mylo talks, she tells him to shut up like it produces actual sound in her head.
Vi might just be talking to herself and Vander comes to mind when she says it, that's something i do a lot as well, but i wouldn't call a hallucination. She doesn't even directly looks at him or really answers him, so my guess is that it's just herself but imagining Vander saying it.
Vi even does the weird 'teleporting/glitching' thing Jinx does from time to time!
Which might also be ironic, because Vander is possibly a twisted, monstrous version of himself in real life now; Mylo however is dead as he is.

I love that Sevika now inserts shimmer into arm manually, as opposed to in Act 2, when the arm injected shimmer into her seemingly at random intervals. She can now control when she gets that berserk boost, and prevents someone like Caitlyn from shooting the shimmer vials off and rendering the arm useless. Amazing details.

You're right. She had an auto delivery system in her shoulder. Now she reloads it like a shotgun in her forearm.

I thought she changed it from her shoulder to loading it like a shotgun because of Caitlyn. Cait shot the shimmer loader and made her arm useless, so this is her way of ensuring that does not happen again, mitigating a weak point you know?
The blade is also new (and very dangerous, might I add).
I love the fact that they both take a break from fighting.. Vi grabs a drink and then they go for round 2... EPIC
Its jarring how much they can tank tho, sevika takes same punches on torso that obligerated bones of armored chemtanks without care, same for Vi tanking sevika arm or other characters especially during explosions,

They don't want to kill each other, they want to *win* , Sevika could have easily stabbed Vi while she was on the floor but she didn't because she wants Vi to know she's better than her, it's a personal rivalry and not a fight between two professionals who want to kill the other as fast as possible and that makes this fight more badass in my opinion.

There was a champion roadmap that talked about the two champions that are going to be released early 2022. It's all speculation, but it sounds to me like the Support is going to be a Chembaron, and I don't think the ADC's description fits Sevika, unfortunately
This is it, shes literally Vi's nemesis fighting wise and because she betrayed Vander which would make it interesting. Her special abilities would be awesome aswell.
My thought as Vi and Sevika were staring at each other before the fight:
"Hextech vs Chemtech, lets go!!!!"

I love that Vi's theme in league has the words "flipping tables on my enemies" they even managed a nod to that whilst crafting this masterpiece of a scene it's just insane

Savika low-key became one of my favorite characters in act 3.
She's a dope character. Fierce, loyal, tough.

@@sikildim4717 she's loyal here. Besides, I believe she was loyal to both Vander and Silco but because of their ideological differences she eventually sided with Silco instead. That's made pretty clear.

Out here, with no hesitation, pushing Silco out of the way of the explosion. Losing her arm in the process. Do we see her complain about this? Bring it up in some petty way? No.
Sevika gets fucked over by Jinx and then we see her do what? Give compassion! In the form of advising Silco to give her time! Because she relates!
She may have her petty moments but honestly, is this any differnet from what we've seen with Vi? She even had the same righteous spirit as Vi when the Enforcers were cracking down.

I feel like in an alternative timeline, Sevika and Vi could be close friends as they're VERY similar to each other.

Silco and Vander truly have different parenting style. Silco gives Jinx unconditional loves and trust, while Vander gives honesty and strict reminder of responsibility. This is especially interesting because Silco was portrayed as a leader first, father second, while Vander is the other way around.
Not to mention that Silco wants Jinx to be the worst version of herself she can be, or "be the monster" that's inside of her, while Vander wants Vi (and everyone of his adopted children) to be the best version of themselves, in terms of having a good heart, tough attitude and wise demeanor.
@@conejitorosada2326 i think that's an incorrect reading of Silco. Silco views power as the only way to survive the world. So he taught her to never feel guilt, and to never feel dependent (except to him). He tried to turn her into the same silco we knew in episode 2, the one who became the leader of Zaun.

Silco is a broken person, he can't fix or help Jinx appropriately, not to mention he gave her a GATLING GUN while doing 0 Crap to help Jinx on overcoming her Trauma (He might've even made it worst!), all he did was tell Jinx "Everyone has that, Move on" Which DEFINATELY helps people struggling with PTSD and dealing with other traumatic events!
@@conejitorosada2326 the thing is though, Jinx actually have less expression of abandonment anxiety under Silco's care. Even when people complain about her, and when Silco gets mad, she remains much more stable compared to the days she is as powder. Arguably, Silco's relationship with Jinx mirrors Powder with Vi's, except even when Jinx screws up, Silco never once broke away from expressing his love and empower her.
@@FFXfever I can agree that it mirrors Powder with Vi, but the thing is if Jinx screws up while Silco DOES express his love and tries to empower her, She STILL thinks that she's a screw up, she NEVER got over her own trauma that Silco SHOULD'VE attended to if he really cared about her, AND Jinx' Hallucinations are worse, having both auditory and visual hallucinations while she doesn't lash out as much as when she was Powder, it doesn't take away how it's gotten worse under his care.
Whether or not we like it, Jinx HAS to face her trauma instead of burying it and "forgetting" about it like what Silco tries to do. I doubt Vi could help Jinx because she lacks the understanding to help Jinx, but I do have some belief that She could've helped Jinx get over it (and maybe with the help of Ekko as he DID experience similar/the same traumatic experience of losing their family and loved ones)
The coolest part of this fight is: We don't know how long it lasted

@@staLkerhu Thnk for a second: We know that they are strong fighters and really resilient. Which means that, based on the few clips we seen, this fight might lasted for seconds, as showed, minuites (Which is a lot for a fight) or even something close to a hour. That being said, it only makes the fight cooler, because it took a shit ton load of time for one to beat the other

I assume it lasted within an hour . Since both contestants are strong , resilient but have their stamina limits . The first half lasted for most of time while the second half was just minutes since Sevika used her blade .
@@albertrex6851 Nah, no way. Fights in real life are absolutely exhausting, even trained professionals can only go so long, this isn't anime. Besides, even if they could go that long, their first fight was shown in it's entirety and lasted only a few minutes at most, and again, they were exhausted by the end of it. This particular fight, considering Vi's new gauntlets, Sevika's shimmer, and the cuts from outside the bar, I imagine this fight lasted no more than 10 minutes, likely a bit less.

1:35 "Well....your guard needs work." then she manages to say a "Pfft..." like as if she's responding to what he's saying. I love the dance they play on of whether she's retorting to a memory or if she's actually responding to him because she's that close to death.
To me that little noise always sounded like a slightly sarcastic chuckle. Like a weak, exhausted, "Huh. Ya think?"

Sevika is such an awesome character. She's badass, she can fight, and even though she's one of the "bad guys", she isn't exactly evil. She only joins Silco because she thought Vander wasn't doing what was best for the undercity and its people. She even had the opportunity to kill Silco and the other mob bosses to seize more power for herself, but instead chose to stay loyal to him. She's a really fascinating and complex character, but in a show with a long list of such characters, she often gets overlooked.
They broke the damn jukebox that introduced each episode...why we didn't get an episode 10!

Jinx vs Ekko, Jayce/ Vi vs Chem tanks and Vi vs Sevika are all 10/10 fights. By far the best fights in the show one after another

It’s so cool how Arcane puts so much into the little things. It’s her right glove that gets disabled, so that she only has her left glove. So they both have left mechanical fists, so it’s a fair fight.

I love how somewhere in the middle of the brawl, they both go like "Okay, wait, let's take 30 seconds." Sevika just sits to catch her breath while Vi takes a drink lmfao.
I hope to see more of these two interacting. They could actually become buddies over time.
And then after Vi beats her. Sevika is just chillin with one arm and a cigar. Damn these bitches are badass lol.

As much as I hated her I gotta admit I think they could go that route and I'd end up liking her. I am mostly impressed how this show just kept dodging cliches and surprising me.
I don't think they could be friends honestly, I like Sevika but I don't see Vi ever caring for her in the slightest given the whole thing with uh... Y'know, Vander.

One part science, one part magic. The core can adapt. The foreshadowing to the full potential of hextech has been building the whole show. Jayce's dream has been glimpsed if not realized.

@@greenhoodyman95 Vi doesn't have the Hexcore, that's Viktor's thing exclusively. If I remember right, the gemstones react to specific runes and functions so it's more that she stumbled upon the right action to trigger the barrier. The gauntlets were intended for mining operations, so it was probably designed to protect miners from cave-ins.
@@silox100 I mean, you could be right. Then again the only thing we actually know about the gauntlets is that they were made for mining, they are powered by the hextech gemstone and there were runes briefly visible when the shield generated. Anything beyond that is speculation and no safeguard was mentioned as a built in feature which would have been a rather important selling point.
@@megagnura7804 But it's also made very clear that the 'learning' magic responds to organic matter. The refined gemstones are 100% magic under control and do what they're intended to do. If any of the arcane gemstones can react and learn then Viktor put a lot of work into his hexcore for not a whole lot of reason.
@@aduboo29 Just because the stone can react doesn't mean it's set up in a good way to experiment with it's effects. You can use a dull knife to woodcarve if you so desired but specialized wood carving tools would do the job better and faster.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate something? Powder took Sevika's arm in the first place, then Vi comes around takes that same arm again.

Seriously though, the voice acting in this show is impeccable.
How has no one else pointed out how when VI goes to get a drink she starts glitching around the screen like Jinx does. Showing us that even VI can get a little crazy.

The best part for me was when Vi herself didn't know what was going on when the barrier formed, yet she capitalized on the opportunity to wreck Savika
Best part about these Scenes? There’s so much pressure and movement, you can’t tell if it’s three minutes or ten.
Yeah, I'm rewatching the fight svenes and I'm constantly surprised how short they are! They manage to tell show so much in those 2-3 minutes!
You can also follow most motions without needing to interpret teleportation into it.
Hollywood meanwhile has a new cam angle TWICE IN THE SAME PUNCH.

I absolutely loved that moment with Vander. He was my favorite character before he "died" and that moment there just signified the goodness and warmth he brought to Vi and Powders life.
Lowkey felt bad when i saw her struggling to light the cigar in the ending sequence. Such a good character
Silco's cigar and lighter too. After she had Finn light the last cigar she smoked (which was a different shape to Silco's)

Oh damn, Just made the connection. Vi didn't know her gauntlets HAD a shield function simply because that was the first time she genuinely took a 'guard' position like vander just told her to do. Up until then she only ever punches forward

I realized now that vi being good and Sevilla being bad, with them having as colors respectively blue and purple, might be a nod to the original team colors: blue team and purple team
I agree. Plus the blade is red so Sevika is representing both the former and current team colors on that side.
By act 3, I stopped seeing particular characters as good or bad. Silco was legitimately just Vander at the end, and Sevika was a loyal retainer to him. If there was a villain in the show, it was Jynx. She was killing innocent people left and right and most of the things she did caused trouble and Mayhem in the narrative (which I absolutely love btw). Silco was just in a position where he had to constantly show his authority but when you are from the Undercity, the only way to do that is with Violence. Jayce also went corrupt just to keep this authority in Piltover. Saying Silco was evil is basically calling all of the Undercity evil, IMO. Particularly if you 'forgive' some of the antics Jayce and them were pulling in Piltover.
Although, of course Ekko did a fine job cutting out a virtuous part of the Undercity while staying relatively good in nature. I'm just saying that Silco didn't do evil things because he was evil, but because they were the only things that would help the undercity, and he probably truly believed that, particularly after act 1 seeing how Vander handled things and got pushed around by Enforcers.
If Sevika didn't work for Silco, I could see these two being friends

What so well done through out the whole series is that most of the time hextech magic is used, it almost always responds to the characters emotions.
I love how the wonder of the magic bubble moment is immediately broken by Vi forcing Sevika to see the reality of the situation; she's lost, and pain is coming.

Hailee Steinfeld needs more credit. Her voice acting in these fights is next level. Love her expression of pain when feeling the heat of the blade against the gauntlet.
Dang, the mental strength vi has is amazing. I know Vander came in for a moment and encouraged her. But it's not like he was actually there, so vi is most likely using this image of Vander giving her advice as a way to keep going. Also they get so many fricken hits to the face and those aren't love taps. Such a great way to show how tough they are but also their strength. I love this show.
Riot has to bring savika in to the game she is amazing.
Right? That sword arm throwing energy blades screams champion design to me. Combined with the implication that she may be the new head of silco's forces and shimmer production and she could turn into a major player in Zaun's future.

The amount of *"THRESH 100% WIFE STEAL TROLOLOL"* style jokes in the official riot forums before they were shut down was ...... well it was high even for the internet. The devs unironically hated that so it was partly out of spite that they added her.

I've never re-watched a show or clips from a show as much as I have with Arcane. It's beautiful and hits all the right spots.
2:34 i love how abruptly Vi grabbed her to pause this dramatic moment, they know its not her style and it just follows up with the final beatdown with no music.
She knows shes won, but thats just one of many fights she'd have to win in the future.
In many films/stories, women will always look beautiful and flawless even during a fight. No messy hair,sweat and blood is more like decoration.But Arcane really makes them look like they are fighting,I mean look at Vi's face in 0:28. And she spited out a fricking tooth in 1:57!!

I love how hard the fights are in Arcane, all the punches feel like they have weight behind them, and when characters get their ass beat, they really really get the work lol

This is how you write female characters in fight scenes.
I just want to mention that the fight scenes for this are done so well. Every blow seems fluid, impactful, and make me want to make whooshing noises and swing my arms around like a moron
The fight scenes are so good and fresh because they feel like they hurt and each blow takes the fight closer to a conclusion. Total contrast to so many other shows where the fights are like a dance with no damage taken and the winner suddenly inflicts the winning blow for no reason.
love the fact that when they both take a break and Vi takes the drink, she just throw the glass at Sevika out of pure pettiness, Sevika easily dodge it, it wasn't meant as a distraction or to inflict damage, it was just like a middle finger to the face

At 1:30, you can see Vi's eye fully close and her breathing seemingly stops, as if she's just giving up. But when Vander speaks, her eyes instantly open again.
We don't deserve this show.

don't you just love that when sevika destroyed one of the gauntlets, it immediately felt heavy, look at how VI is even dragged down and didn't go far when she got pushed back, the gauntlet stopped her right there.

We NEED a separate Sevika's arc in future seasons. The amount of stories and directions riot can make for her are beyond any comprehension. Definitely one of the best characters in Arcane for me
small i thing i noticed tween both Vi vs Sevika fight scenes bc im insane and have rewatched them over and over: fortiche kept their strengths the same throughout their two scenes i think, where Vi's faster than Sev but Sev's stronger/harder hitting. Like how Vi seems to get more hits in but they effect Sevika less than her hits against Vi, and that if you pay attention, Sevika tries to get hits on Vi but often gets beaten to the literal punch eg straight after Sevika gets her arm ripped off she (amazingly) immediately tries for an overhead punch but gets beaten to it, also happens in the first fight before she gets dropkicked through the ally i believe. But in shots where its a direct power struggle Sevika usually comes out on top eg the headbutt/grapple here plus direct punch outs or wrestling in the first fight. Also cool how it translates with their weapons, Vi's gauntlets are, well, gauntlets, hollow and light, with literal anti grav technology, it's a tool, something that she uses, not part of who she is, where Sevika's arm is assumedly heavy? with all the complex machinery, its embedded into her and on one side, a part of her, probably making her imbalanced, physically and mentally. She often does the most damage with non brawling moves like her sword and burning Vi w her arm, contrast to Vi finishing her with her bare hands as well as that Vi's only non brawling based move we see is her barrier, which is Vi using power defensively.
ANYWAY i will pause here before i freak someone out with my weird passion for overanalysing fight scenes and their symbolism i just needed to get this out of my system. maybe i should start a bar fight

The way you can actually hear the gentle smile while he is saying that always gets me. Vander is the perfect depiction of a true dad.
What I really appreciate about this rematch is the fight is still close. Vi's gauntlets don't necessarily give her the "edge" over Sevika, but rather "level the playing field". Occasionally when the protagonist gets an upgrade, they body the antagonist they struggled with previously.

THE PASSIVE AT THE END THO WOW...
Taking lessons from Sergio Leoni with the close-ups, lessons from Robert Rodriguez with the Mariachi style music, and brawling coming straight out of a Jackie Chan movie on shimmer. Combining that amount of style and substance is no easy feat, yet the show at this point makes it look so goddamn easy.
The show is a masterpiece I've never seen style and substance packed so densely in each and every scene. People are right to praise the fight scenes but also the political and social scenes are just as alive with body language.
I'd love to point out how you barely see Vander's face, and only after she gets up, you get a glimpse. I love all the little things like that, shows every shot had a lot of thought and heart.
the small details win this fight. each cut showed a different angle and it really shows this fight in all is beauty. every little detail from the spit and blood to the god damn items in the room becoming weapons. my favorite part is when she lying on the ground talking to vander. she smiles and smirks at vanders remarks like hes never been gone all these years. even the small detail of her spitting out her tooth and shooting blood out her nose shows just good fighting spirit. this isnt the power of friendship or magic but flat out just raw spirit. if anyone else had those gloves they wouldnt survive so long but its vi that makes the gloves shine so they react accordantly

what surprisingly nobody noticed, is that at 2:23 when vi basically wins the fight, the League of Legends Victory sound track plays which is a nice touch, given that Vi won.
I can't imagine any league fan being disappointed with the Arcane series. Soo much epicness.

I wasn't expecting this show to be good, but after watching the entire thing in a day, I'm very happy to say that this is what western animation should be!
This entire series was beyond epic. From character design and development, animation, music and story. I can barely wait for the second season. Hopefully Netflix learns something from this, and puts out more. But I doubt it.
I don't even want to see a second season because I can't see how they could possibly make it as good as the first.
