- This is a new product put out by Mohawk Carpets. It is called Air.o , it requires no stretching , no gluing, it's by far the easiest carpet to install for a DIY

I'm installing my first job of this carpet tomorrow. I'm psyched to try something new. Thank you for taking the time to make this video.
Jeremy Miller You’re welcome and thank you for watching
This video saved my tail thank you for making such a detailed video to help people out!
👍awesome, you’re welcome
We had this installed (2500 sq ft) and the first installer messed it up. The company had to replace it all and we had a different installer come out. Both said it took twice as long as normal carpet to install. After watching the two installs and your video - I really think they were doing it wrong. The first installer kicked, stretched and stapled the product down so over the period of 10 months the seams started to show due to the product wanting to return to the original size. Fortunately the second installer got it right. I now have enough remnants (2 large pieces) to do another room myself and will be following both this video and the one by MacFloor to guide me. Thanks for posting this.
Ryan J Glad to be of help,
Great video, I have not come across this carpet yet.
Now if someone mentions it I'll have a better understanding.
Thanks!
Thanks mate ..I haven't seen the brand before ...good info ! Roy.
Nicely done .
CarpetMan thank you
thanks again, just found your video on "which is best"
I heard they were working on this about 2 years ago. Didn't know it was available for retail yet. Looks like it'll do nicely! Good video!
Ed Weird It arrived in the carpet stores. Here in Tucson about a month and a half ago maybe two months
FloorsbySouthernboys only time will tell but just by looking at it, it looks a ton better than what they've tried in the past. Does it feel like it will hold up?
Ed Weird Yeah it actually felt really good
I have chronic pain I don't want to move into this apartments they're brand new they have the laminated wood but I feel I have to have carpet at least something like this in the bedroom I don't want to be in trouble with management but the one guy knows I want to put some kind of carpet in there. Do you think it would lay good without all the double-sided it would be a smaller bedroom and if I dared in the living area would be very small area so I'm sure some type of double-sided for sure in the entry.I wish I could find it I'm in Las Vegas. I think there's a way to order it online I did the measurements when we saw the inside of the apartment and then I lost the paper with the measurements. I feel the only way I could be comfortable in the new apartment is to put some type of carpet just like this, does it feel nice and soft under your feet?
its crazy to see how far youve come
Man I hear you looking back at some of my old videos. It’s like I would never do it that way now
@@FloorsbySouthernboys Would you still install air.o carpet the same way now? I’m about to install some.
If you use another brand tape, what tape would you recommend if not the Mohawk? Its not available currently where we are located. Menards has some but not sure on differences besides there is pricy and less pricey lol. Thank you!
i allways use spray adhesive to blow dust away, plus it also seals the floor.
Never seen that stuff before. Customer request that instead of stretch in carpet ? Looks great though . Good job boys .
jc86 Yes sir this is what she picked out
So if I can order a 12x12 to be delivered from across country for $250 is that good deal?
great video, having product installed in 2 bedrooms and going to install myself in a smaller bedroom. looks very easy to install and love that you don't have to kick it. I was wondering what knife you use to cut carpet, looks like it a dandy and can switch blades fast.
Thanks for the video, wish I you installed in our area.

thanks so much, enjoy your videos, very honest and informational
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to show this. Would you happen to have any videos of making a seam with Air O for larger rooms?
Kameron H Afraid not, I only have a couple of videos on this product but I can tell you that you will want to fold it over flat where the back is facing up and put you a chocolate on there and follow your chalk line with a straight edge and that is how to get precisely straight cut for here seem, and it is extremely crucial that it is perfectly straight with this product
@@FloorsbySouthernboys I'm in Las Vegas I need help because I need carpet and I think I'm ordering this from somebody who already has like I'm in a 12x12 bedroom say if somebody sends you the 12x12 and you're in a 12x12 can it kind of just lay it down? I need help because I'm at a rental I'm a disabled lady and I'm not sure I know I want to get this put in this place because I'm very uncomfortable with no carpet!
Curious how this product is installed on stairs
I’m looking at this product now in 2022 since I have asthma. I was wondering how durable it is? Has it held up well since your installs?
As far as I know
I was reluctant to move into these new apartments because no carpet they got the new laminated wood floorings even for three and four stories now because they can do it with padding. Anyways I thought this carpet would work does it seem like you might not even need the double-sided tape except maybe in the entry? I wish I knew where to order it here I can't even find stores that carry it.
Yeah a person could just lose like it completely without any tape at all
Is that carpet New beginnings ll ? What's the style name? I'm down to changing times two in Chariot or the new beginnings which I think is that color and to me look in the samples it's more thick the new beginnings did you have any trouble with the door in that room did you have to adjust it at all to open it should over the carpet I am beyond ready I've been trying to get this forever I'm in a rental that already have some fake wood floors and I have got to get me some carpet for the bedroom and living room
Can this be placed on wood floors without the tape or adhesive? I don't want to damage my wood floors but really want to use this carpet.
Yes sir if it is installed properly it will be just fine for you
@@FloorsbySouthernboys Could you explain how it could be installed without tape or glue?
What type of glue do they offer, pressure sensitive?
UniqueLifter205# Dang it’s been a while since I’ve dealt with at the time of flooring and I wanna say yes I do know they only want you to perimeter bond It as well
That was the one time mistake I seen on all the videos
That blade at the owners area
Everything else you been doing great
I'm still learning from other installers
me to 😀👍Well if that’s the only one that’s pretty good, thanks for your comments and watching
So you have to take out the tack strip to lay this carpet
Wblesther Lagunas Yes, floor needs to be smooth
I'm in Las Vegas so I will the other boys in Arizona come down here?
Or is it only for drop rooms
What state and city do you operate? Just looked like tucson az.
Frank Sanchez This video was in Tucson Arizona, I have recently moved to Tennessee though
Wow. I been in carpet cleaning business for ten yrs. I know my town any day. Wish u were still here. Love your work and vids. Would honored to work with a pro like u for fee sir. Wish u luck in new venture. From Tucson Carpet Cleaning.
Frank Sanchez That’s awesome, I loved it in Tucson
Can u seam this carpet if the room is bigger than 12
Yes
@@FloorsbySouthernboys i wanted to ask you if you had a direct number to try force tools I been having trouble trying to buy some of there tools but the wedsite keeps sending me else. It would really help I need to get a stair strecher tool from them. My knees are really starting to hurt after I do stairs . I would gladly appreciate it.
But is it cuz she comfy can I find somebody to do this for me? I found a guy in Georgia that's going to give me good deal he has some for small rooms unless I'm in a rental and I'm on this place has the fake wood The only thing I can think about is that the door might not want to close
Way to help your partner with the carpet Jerry!
Jerry is no longer with me and my wife is the one that was doing the filming But thanks for having my back
FloorsbySouthernboys Nice video! what happened with Jerry?
Slavic Galushkin And we just kind of grew to opposite, everything I’m about is totally opposite with him and everything he’s about is totally opposite with me, and so we just thought it was best to part ways
FloorsbySouthernboys oh, I see. Makes sense. I recently lost my helper too. He just didn't give a crap about the job and the quality that I represented, so I let him go. It's really sad when folks don't care about their own quality of work. I'm glad you post these videos to show everyone how it really should be done! Thank you! 👍👍
Slavic Galushkin Thank you I appreciate you saying that
I never have done an airo install. He stores I work for sells it but hasn't sold any jobs
It was pretty nice to work with
I love the way you install but please do not throw your used blades on the floor like that especially if it's a home. You dont know if they have kids or pets and they run past the room you're doing and they see the blade and want to play it. Its not going to end well. We do mostly commercial flooring but we always put our used blades under the new ones we have in storage the knife has or we just throw them straight to the trash can we have. We also have packets with about 10 blades maybe more or less but once all our blades are no good we swap our old blades with new ones and the case it comes with becomes a safety disposal.
thanks for your concern
I save mine, put them in a bucket and take them to the scrap metal merchant.
@@nickkent6459 can you get anything out of it or you just donate it to them?
Weigh them in as scrap along with Ali door trims.
No stretching involved...whaaaaaaaat?????? For residential use? Eco-friendly lovers, 😂
the frugal landlord I know right
Why you not get your camera man to help lifting haha
Ryan Jackson The cameraman was my wife
You need to sack her can't see a man struggle with a carpet like that ahha😂
Ryan Jackson Trust me she wanted to help, I would not let her
@@FloorsbySouthernboys good stuff my man love the videos
Ryan Jackson Thank you sir I appreciate that
Only thing good about this carpet is the tape that comes with it 🤣
NOOOooo!!! don't do it yourself!, lol. Lol, we help our customers DIY to if they need to save a buck. We'd rather share advise or knowledge with a customer than have them make a mistake, We will share that for free, but if you don't ask about something your unsure of, it could be a costly error.
