Nah they never employed any dwarves in the first place. They were just gunna make them "small people", diverse, inclusive and insufferable but then when people found out Disney panicked and said the promotional pictures were fake. However, instead of getting real dwarves to do it like people wanted they CGI'd them in when they redid the whole film.

Disney died in 2015 .... 9 years ago, when they decided to take time revered classic stories and gut them from the inside to "adjust" them for " modern audiences ". I used to spend 10 000$ a year on Disney (parks, movies, cruise, toys, etc) now I don't spend a cent on them, found creative ways to watch Deadpool.

They kinda started dying after their renaissance phase. TV show of most of there movies of the time, okay helped push Disney Channel fine there. Then they started to do direct to DVD sequels of everything. Followed that with live action remakes of everything, where they started adjusting for "modern audience"

Why even call it live action? The opening shot was 95% CGI… why can’t they use practical effects and CGI only if necessary. That cottage looks too polished.

Probably on purpose, considering that Disney makes a _lot_ of money selling cheap nylon princess dresses to little girls. If the dress in the film looked absolutely amazing, it would make the cheap garbage version they sell in Disney Stores and at Disneyland look worse.

The original movie is quite literally a work of art -- it's like a painting come to life. This just looks like a bunch of cgi. Also the colors are all wrong...they could have at least used the whimsical color palette of the original film. Why is everything so warm and yellow? The day this releases, I'll just watch the original at home.

Walt Disney created the 1937 Snow White with the aspirations to prove that animated movies can stand next to live action movies as their own respective film medium, being just as capable of causing laughter as well as sorrow, surprising himself and the staff to have caused the audience back then to both cheer and cry with the characters.
... As a life-long time fan of Disney's animated classics, this sticks out like a money-hungry eyesore that's jabbing me in the sides about how great it is despite everything around it saying otherwise.
Walt bet the entire company on Snow White and still came up $250K short. He took the first reel to NYC and met with a number of bankers, showing them the reel. These bankers were so moved by what they saw--in the middle of the Depression no less--that they loaned him the money he needed to finish the film without demanding collateral (since Walt had none to give as the entire studio was mortgaged). That was the impact of the original Snow White. Now tell me the impact of this film.

it is actually the best solution to get it right that they are simply no real humans in the Disney universe, but it's more complex in reality. it's just that dwarves can be used as term for small sized reap people or for these mythological creatures. In the past, there had been also children actors been casted. It's really a complicated story...of historical labor conditions and mythological roots influencing each other.

@@madgeundersee Pixar literally had a talk with their directors about how they have to make movies with a "wider audience appeal" and basically told them to stop using their personal experiences (aka the heart and soul of many of these films), because the past few years haven't been performing financially up to their standard. Not to mention, movie theater attendance in general has plummeted since covid. Studios have been pumping out mediocre films for a while and they're finally starting to feel the pain. Disney WILL probably make it out alright, but that doesn't mean they're not freaking out a bit right now.

I’m questioning why Disney decided to use CGI to make the seven dwarves instead of hiring actors who have dwarfism. This just takes the opportunity away from actors with dwarfism from being represented and takes away the opportunity away from actors who have dwarfism from making it big in Hollywood.

Its all so pointless. Its just Zegler wandering around on green screen with a lot of CGI instead of hand drawn animation. Its still animated, only now it does not look as good as something made decades ago....truly shocking.

The reason is because of Peter dinklage. They originally had little people actors but dinklage threw a hissy fit on Twitter and Disney gave into his anger, firing them and replacing them with diversity actors then the cgi characters
