"We break the pattern or the pattern breaks us." ... It Ends With Us- Exactly what made me take such strong decision.. I happened to find this book right after my separation, gifted it was. Never knew that it will hold my own story and mindset inside. ❤
Im quite disgusted by the negative comments and criticism of the film. It takes a lot to write a book in such depth of domestic violence. Let alone the movie, in which was absolutely powerful. Having once been in a domestic violence situation, that nearly ended my life--- the violence doesn't start with violence. It's an escalating pattern that eventually shatters the cage of the monster of a person you thought you knew. This movie had me choking back tears. Because it was so beautifully compiled together, regardless of the controversy. I too had a friend, who rescued me and picked me up one day, I was black and blue and he took me in. Id buy every book and nail polish and whatever Colleen Hoover wants to write or produce. I'm definitely buying the movie. I hope that the author, the producers, the actors and actresses and all those apart of this are not discouraged. Beauty rises from ashes. This movie displays a glimpse of what I went through and it's not glorified by all means. Everyone needs to back up. My arms are sketched with roses and flowers and sayings, that cover scars from clinging to what I thought was my last breath. Til you've been through it, sit down, be humble.
I don't understand why people are being so negative about the character choices. Each one of us has a different picture of Lily, Ryle and Atlas based on our imagination. What's important is that they are telling this beautiful story and the emotions that these actors are showing are true. I feel this movie will live up to it's expectation based on the trailer. And frankly, I am glad they chose more mature actors than people in their 20s for example. These actors are able to show the rawness of the emotions because they chose really good actors to play the parts. I'm super excited for this one!!
Colleen admitted herself that she didn’t get the ages right in the book. That she should have made them all a bit older. And I personally feel more comfortable watching people slightly older than me in those situations rather than people in their 20s. I feel like I can feel it deeper then, even though I went through two abusive relationships in my early 20s
@zahra2k2 echoing your thoughts! I am not a big fan of romantic movies but I don't understand what people are complaining about here? Just because the new world defines feminism in particular ways now, all of a sudden people want to decide how it is defined in stories.. As long as something like DV is not glorified, and the actors are doing a fine job, whats with the complaints!? The intensity at which each person defines their tragedies and responds to it would be different. Even a director's/author's vision for a character would be different. Why do people want to fit every woman character into some sort of feminist mould defined by new-age thinking.. Let people be people, characters be characters.. Diversity in personalities is so much more empowering than being string puppets!!!
"One day you'll have a daughter"??? Nooo, does that mean the scene at the hospital with Emmy won't happen? That conversation between them two breaks my heart!
I think it is a voiceover for the trailer. We don’t see her saying the “if you had a daughter”, we see her asking “what would you say to her” and they could be holding the baby. It would also explain why their faces take the whole screen-they don’t want to spoil this information in the trailer

We literally see him being aggressive and we see the scene where he told her she “fell” (anyone can decipher that one) I understand if the actors interviews/press didn’t respect the topic of abuse, but anyone who watches this will know it has abuse in it.

This is one of the most interesting books I've ever read in my life and the seen of ryle kicking the chair is just as I've imagined i need to see this movie
I wish they used another actress for Lily. Blake Lively doesn’t give off innocent/calm sweet girl vibes - not how I imaged her. I imagined someone who looks like Joey King. Because she has an innocent child face and place a role of a young girlfriend better. It would feel more realistic like the book. Blake Lively looks more powerful and dominant than how I would imagine Lily. It’s almost like Blake and the guy actress are friends not lovers
Yes!! I imaged her voice to be higher and more feminine, and overall just look younger. Aswell at Atlas, he’s nothing like I imagined in my head but I’m still exited to watch.
As a bookworm who always wants to read the book before the movie, I hear you. As a survivor of DV for most of my life, I appreciate the message that they’re aiming for.. this happens to all women, even older more successful ones.. imho
Ik everyone is saying the characters don’t match (I agree) but the film looks promising! They gave the scenes so much justice and even though the characters don’t match physically, i believe they’re going to deliver attributes of the character
This news literally has made my day. This is my all time favorite go to book. 😭💜 Even rn I'm reading this for the 5th time. 💞 Hoping for a good outcome of this movie. This is my best birthday gift god has given me. Exactly 4 days ago I was thinking " I wish someone would have made a movie of this story.”

Just reread BOTH books and I'm so excited about this movie! Books are always better so you have to read it first and just not be so analytical about the movie. ✌🏼💛
Anyone else sick of seeing this triggering trailer 30 times while they are watching other videos. I rather not see a woman get hit every 2 minutes when an add comes through.
Based on this trailer idk what all the fuss and negativity surrounding the movie was all about. Presumably, it was all swirling around before the new lawsuit between the co-stars. I wonder what everyone was so up in arms about ?! 🤷🏼♀️
Wonder if the next movie will be about how she keeps the ex boyfriend in her life and his number and hides things from her current boyfriend and gaslights him to make him go crazy or how she is trying to keep two men in her life at the same time and not being honest about anything ? Cause that’s always a wise move and not abuse at all right ?
Anyone who faces similar situations in real life knows that this is not how this ends. no one has a backup guy/savior. its mindboggling how many people drink up this toxic story.
It’s not real life though, it’s entertainment. There are a lot of us who aren’t feminists. Just regular people who enjoy a good story that includes a male hero. At this point everybody and their mother knows this story includes DV, so if you’re the kind of person who gets “triggered”, you can chose to not watch the film. I’ve personally experienced a lot of trauma, but I don’t get “triggered” by media and entertainment. You can’t lump all trauma survivors together, people have different reactions and different ways to cope. Personally, I enjoy this kind of “toxic” story. Again, it’s ENTERTAINMENT. I’d rather watch a story with a compelling male hero than one with a “strong independent woman who don’t need no man”…that’s just my personal preference. 🤷🏼♀️
Okay let's be real, it's watchable. More than we expected and I think it's better than 'watchable' probably. I'm truly surprised because they didn't choose the right cast but made it soo good... like how we almost saw it in our imagination... definitely watchable I guess...
I read this book in Turkish a few years ago. The actors don't give off the vibe of the characters. Especially Ryle and Atlas. The actress chosen for the role of Lily looks a bit suitable because of her red hair. I don't know why, but this movie seems completely different from the book.
I just finished it. It could have been a good film. It wasn’t horrible. I just feel that the acting was wooden and formulaic. I felt that the subject matter was sugar coated. This should be playing on the Hallmark channel. Blake should get some acting tips from her contemporaries like Scarlett Johansson (well, I guess not her), Charlize Theron and Margot Robbie.
I'm currently reading it...I'm on 25th chapter.... And man the shit is real....the emotions you feel while reading it and just trying to imagine is simple too much.....and it's my first novel ever....I just give it a go and I don't how the hell I reached to 25th chapter in couple of days only....looking forward to see Adeline Bowman or should I say Blake Lively❤
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CAST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! Me and my friends were so thrilled to watch this movie, but once we saw the cast, We're crying in a corner
Why does no one talk about the abuse Lily inflicted on Ryle??? Why do they paint her as a saint and him as the devil??? Ryle abused Lily physically, but Lily abused Ryle emotionally. It wasn’t Ryle’s fault that she was traumatized, and in any case, both of them were traumatized-Ryle because of what happened with his brother. But Lily, knowing she still loved Atlas, went back to his restaurant several times, disrespecting Ryle. She didn’t even tell him that the heart tattoo she has is because of Atlas, her ex-boyfriend, or that Atlas gave her his phone number. How cynical. And then she plays the victim-typical of a narcissist who only shares the bad things done to them but doesn’t mention their bad actions toward others. It’s disgusting 🤮 the message they send, portraying Lily as some saint who broke the cycle. Well, Ryle also broke the cycle by leaving and divorcing a woman narcissist!!
Im glad I read the book before watching the movie. Oh, i mean the spoiler. You know, the commercial.... that literally tells the whole damn story. Thanks. Dont have to go see it now.
It’s crazy how some scenes look exactly how i imagined them whilst reading.
The flower shop and the interior of her house when her and atlas were in the kitchen did not reflect what i imagined ): its ok tho

I see y'all making these negative Nancy commentary like you know the rules of writing a movie from a book. She loved the book and it was a labor of love, I'm SUPER excited to see it! ✌🏼💛
Who would you suggest instead of Blake Lively ?
As a bookworm who always wants to read the book before the movie, I hear you. As a survivor of DV for most of my life, I appreciate the message that they’re aiming for.. this happens to all women, even older more successful ones.. imho
@@kouklakee I think I’d like to see Abigail Cowens
さっき観てきたけど、泣けました😢
This is one of the best books I've ever read! I can't wait to see the movie! I hope they do a movie on "It Starts With Us" also.
We are all a Ryle is someone's story and Atlas in someone else's.
LET THAT SINK IN.
Awww looking forward to the movie… finished reading the book… ❤❤❤❤
How does a Hallmark channel flick get a theater release?
The book centers on the struggles of breaking the pattern of abusive relationships which wouldn’t be a hallmark movie theme
Who let this happen WHO DID THIS HAVENT YOU READ THE ONE STAR GOOD READS REVIEWS
FOR REAL, I'M CRYING AT ALL THE POSITIVE ANTICIPATING COMMENTS RN😭
A movie with Adeline & Spencer Dutton is now my favorite movie and I havnt even seen it yet 🔥💫⭐️♥️
Why the hell the restaurant was named ROOT and why there is no mention of just keep swimming 😭
My Tears Ricochet 😢
Wow, I want to watch it. The essence is always in the middle. How the story unfolds and I love BL
Thank thank l watch this movie 9 time excellent excellent excellent . Every person need to watch movie . 🎥 . I cry many time it’s the truth!!
It feels like it's gonna be in some people's hearts that liked the book ❤️
Can you tell the song at the beginning?
Feels like the exact portrayal of the book how i imagined it.
The longest book i've ever read. But it was worth it. Loved it!!
this is such a cinematic masterpiece who watched in cinemas 9th august 🙌🙌
Ik everyone is saying the characters don’t match (I agree) but the film looks promising! They gave the scenes so much justice and even though the characters don’t match physically, i believe they’re going to deliver attributes of the character
This news literally has made my day. This is my all time favorite go to book. 😭💜 Even rn I'm reading this for the 5th time. 💞 Hoping for a good outcome of this movie. This is my best birthday gift god has given me. Exactly 4 days ago I was thinking " I wish someone would have made a movie of this story.”
I Can't believe it's officially happening🥳🥳.....I don't know about casting but I looooooovvvveeeeee this book.....I read this almost 4 times but still I can't get over it....this is a phenomenal book✨✨.....l would love to watch this ♥️♥️
The fight in the hallway in the restaurant looks just like how I pictured!
As a counsellor, love this concept of a movie. Brilliant 👏🏼
The book was bad enough, let's see what they do here 🤔
I just can't imagine the atlas and Lily meet seen just manifesting the situation 🥹 pls 😭happen soon 😫💙
Just reread BOTH books and I'm so excited about this movie! Books are always better so you have to read it first and just not be so analytical about the movie. ✌🏼💛
I am reading the book at the moment i cant wait to see how it ends... im in love with this book😊
Yess my tears ricochet!
Anyone else sick of seeing this triggering trailer 30 times while they are watching other videos. I rather not see a woman get hit every 2 minutes when an add comes through.
You don’t actually see her get hit
look at how my tears ricochet
Based on this trailer idk what all the fuss and negativity surrounding the movie was all about. Presumably, it was all swirling around before the new lawsuit between the co-stars. I wonder what everyone was so up in arms about ?! 🤷🏼♀️
Wonder if the next movie will be about how she keeps the ex boyfriend in her life and his number and hides things from her current boyfriend and gaslights him to make him go crazy or how she is trying to keep two men in her life at the same time and not being honest about anything ? Cause that’s always a wise move and not abuse at all right ?
Colleen hoover wrote this book based on her mom’s experience. I cried when i read the authors note at the end
Are You in Or out?
I somehow manifested the same scenarios in my mind 🤩
Nah bruh unexpected to cast more younger looking actors, thats how i imagined the characters while reading
I’ve read this book and the sequel to it!!! Loved it ❤
Just finished the book im sobbing i cant wait to watch this
Am I wrong for already wanting the sequel to be made into a movie too and I haven’t even seen it yet? I have watched this trailer too many times 😅
Exactly how I imagined the scenes. Thats crazy. The flower shop was to a T
I just finished the book and thinking wish it's made into movie😂and then searched about the author, got to know that it's made into movie and here lol.
Anyone who faces similar situations in real life knows that this is not how this ends. no one has a backup guy/savior. its mindboggling how many people drink up this toxic story.
I despise any story where a woman is saved only because of the fortuitous introduction of a male savior. ESPECIALLY a romantic male savior.
I feel like they only cast Blake bc she’s BFF with Taylor. They even used her song 😂
OMG THE CHAIR LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE I IMAGINED
I’m going to watch this as if I haven’t read to books, so that I don’t get so hung up on the people playing the characters. It still looks good so…
Baldoni is a great director so I’m excited for this. Cool to see him acting again too
Woow..Unbelievable How she really couldn't act even if her life depended on It 😅😂
Anyone know the song ?
Okay let's be real, it's watchable. More than we expected and I think it's better than 'watchable' probably. I'm truly surprised because they didn't choose the right cast but made it soo good... like how we almost saw it in our imagination... definitely watchable I guess...
Bro this movie was so good 😢
I was listening to spotify and heard taylor swift on the back and came here
I read this book in Turkish a few years ago.
これどこで観れるん?
Looks great, never read the book but hey, I see Blake Lively, I'm watching it 😅❤
Just gonna say it!!!! As much as Ryle was, Lily was equally a Red Flag. She was Mentally and emotionally abusive to their relationship.
Yes my thoughts are same
I'm currently reading it...I'm on 25th chapter....
Omg loved Adeline 😍
friendship goal . Blake as a lead actress , ofc its a taylor swift song
They kinda old 😅 But I'll still watch
Boy oh boy I sobbed reading this book
I’m so excited!!
Paul Feig compensation. Kendrick got hers too - simultaneously it seems.. You'd think these industry issues would be dealt with more subtlety.
“We break the pattern or the pattern breaks us”
Idk how i feel about the casting for Atlas he’s described as a greek god in the book 😭😑
Ever seen a statue of a Greek god? He looks better than that lol. I honestly find him super hot, the vibe he has around him, his voice.
@@l.jvd1good for u 👍🏾
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE WORST CAST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! Me and my friends were so thrilled to watch this movie, but once we saw the cast, We're crying in a corner
Stay there
Haven’t read the book but looking forward to the movie.
I despise Colleen Hoover, no body can change my mind
Surely you mean to say you ‘despise Colleen Hoover’s writing - otherwise Colleen Hoover needs to contact the police
I’m going to be crying in the theater while watching just because it’s going to bring back all of the emotions this book brought me!😭🫶🏻
Im glad I read the book before watching the movie. Oh, i mean the spoiler. You know, the commercial.... that literally tells the whole damn story. Thanks. Dont have to go see it now.
