  • Here's a demo of a Jackson JS22-7 I recently bought. The guitar is all completely stock straight from a local music shop. Great guitar for the price!
    Using Podfarm 2.0 and Steven Slate Drums
    I have since installed a Seymour Duncan Pegasus and Sentient set but the audio is the stock Jackson pickups.
    My Soundcloud: / josh-lim-6
    Filmed on my GoPro Hero 3+ and edited in GoPro Studio.
    Mixed and Mastered by Jarred Nettle: / jarred-nettle
    Hope you like it!

      @@ravendemo4980 The cheap areas of the guitar are the accessories and maybe the frets. The bridge, volume/tone knobs and pots, tuners, all seem to be pretty cheap stuff. The frets are decent, but sitting next to my $1000 ESP, you can see not as much time and love went into the neck. The pickups are actually pretty good. If you've never had a 7 string and you're a little weary of shelling out the cash for one, I can't recommend this one enough. If you end up absolutely loving the world of 7 strings, then you can move up and get a more expensive one. That's how I looked at it, and glad I did.

      @@nairblab4061 aright, I was kinda wondering. I've heard about some sharp frets before, but I know you can't expect the absolute perfect guitar (especially a 7 string,) for 200 dollars. However, I'm glad to here your pros and cons, thank you. 😁✌

      Thijs den Ouden When it comes to gain, less is more. Clean is heavy. You should only be using enough gain to get the chunk and harmonic density that you want. Too much gain results in a loss of overall tone and definition.

    It's amazing how good production can make a cheap instrument sound. Some peoples ear would never be able to tell the diff between this and a KM7. Well done dude. In this modern time, It's almost better to go cheap on the guitar and go big on production gear. I'll probably grab one of these. Looks worth having.

      @@fbuiafdf i see schecter as comparable and epiphone as worse value wise than Jackson. Reason is the stock pickups, all i ever had in an epiphone were mediocre at best - nothing I'd want to record and try to get a good sound with post production tbh. Jacksons cheapest high output humbucker is really usable for recording imho and i recorded a lot of guitars in all kinds of price ranges from a cheap ass squier to a 70s masterbuilt prs so i think i might know a thing or two about how a clean guitar DI should look and sound like.

    • @carlosbell1132
      @carlosbell1132 4 года назад +1

      @@fbuiafdf I obviously wouldn't use a guitar that doesn't stay in tune to record something. In terms of nuts i think schecter are the only ones mentioned here with something usable installed out of the box. Electronics are always bad on guitars below lets say 500-600 bucks. Replacing them is kind of easy and cheap though so nothing i worry to much about. I was actually more focused on the sound and playability while being able to have a decent intonation. And atleast in my case all epiphones were horribly setup out of the box and i had a hard time getting those TOM bridges to intonate correctly plus dealing with those fat ass sticky glossy necks is horrible imo. Schecter is also on the chubby site but within reason. I mean i get it, some people just like Gibson type guitars but epiphones aren't a bang for the buck, atleast in my book.

      The more expensive one is just flashier and has slightly better sounding pups. The reason i own both is i found buying the more expensive to be around the same price as the upgrades i would have installed. Its achilles heels are the pups.

    I think the song sounds better on a 7 than an 8. Killer jam bro, real tight to to drums!

    I'm putting a Seymour Duncan Nazgul/Sentient 7 Set on this guitar, I already ordered them, you think they will sound good with my JS22-7 ?

    what VSTi are you using for drums samples? Sounds massive! Or is it just simple plugin, but heavily equalized?
