On a motorcycle with a carburetor, when you change out the air intake and/or exhaust to allow more air in and out of the engine, you typically need to increase the jet size as well. This allows more fuel in to account for the increase in air volume.

My jet kit also had a spacer for the needle which is accessed from the top of the carburetor. I do not know why I did not record the changing of my jets. Probably because there are others that are better at making videos than I. Take care, ride safe.
I find it tricky sometimes to record installation videos because I'd rather just get the project done. Test drove it this morning with the new jets and it feels just about perfect. I'll keep the needle location in mind though, thank you. I wasn't sure how to access it.

In the winter time you will still need a little choke in winter, that has been my experience. The rejet if done correctly just matches your fuel to air ratio allowing the bike to run properly.

If you have an Aero you should be able to get away with narrow 12" bars with only re-routing of the throttle/clutch cables. Mine are a wider 12" and I only needed to replace the clutch cable. I mainly re-jet for the air intake. I've heard some folks say you do not have to re-jet if you just do the exhaust but others claim you do. When I bought my bike the factory exhaust baffles were drilled out (essentially straight piped) and other than a little popping on deceleration it seemed to run just fine. If you are just doing the exhaust I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Glad it helped! Any hoses that were removed from the carburetor were re-installed. As for the intake itself, there was a vent hose for I believe the crank case on the back of the factory air box that I attached a piece of filter material to and tucked it close to the frame. Once the factory box is removed it is easy to spot.
What size did you use? And where did you buy them? I just installed short shots exhaust on mine and it’s backfiring on decelerating, great video by the way
I ended up with a 52 pilot and 130 main out of some cheap set I got on eBay for cheap. With the 52 pilot the bike requires no choke but I'm pretty sure it is a little rich. I swapped that out for a 50 recently and we will see how it goes. www.ebay.com/itm/373583249078

I know the jets may be different. but upon looking at the Dynojet kit:1195 which is the kit for my bike. It doesn't show changing the pilot jet, but we know it needs to be changed. But for stage 2 which is exhaust and intake it shows using DJ138 which I'm guessing is a 138 main jet...also show's changing the needle E-clip to groove #3 from the top. Then turning the mixture screw in until it seats lightly and backing it out 2.5 turns. They include new needle but I'm going to see about adjusting the stock needle if possible. Just play around with it and see how it runs. Just letting you know what the info i found in case you want to step up your jets too. How is it running on the 50 pilot jet?
@@oneballwonder8092 I don't remember if I mentioned it in one of my other videos or not but I did set the air/fuel mixture screw exactly how you described at 2.5 turns. From what I understand the pilot jet handles 0-20% throttle, and the main jet becomes a factor at 80%-100% with the needle doing everything in between. This is based only off of what I have read so I may be completely wrong. My needle clip is still in the factory position and doesn't appear to bog down but I know every bike is different. So far the 50 pilot has been fine. MPG is back up to around 47 and the bike only requires a little choke (briefly) to start up. We are in the warmer months now and I am only a few hundred feet above sea level so that may have something to do with it. Not sure if I mentioned it before but I used the calculator on carbjetkits to get my baseline. I went back to a 50 pilot, which is the stock size (I am using a different 50 pilot jet than stock). My MPG dropped from around 50mpg to around 35. The last time it did that was when my main jet was too large. I have not pulled my spark plugs to verify but it felt like the bike was way too rich and it smelled like it too. I'm sorry but I don't understand your question. I think you might be talking about adjusting the air/fuel screw? Mine was over 3 turns out from the factory and is currently adjusted 2 1/2 turns out.

I believe in the US they switched to fuel injection around 2010.
