My neighbor give me his 2004 Shadow VT750C a year ago, because he was getting married and was moving away. The motorcycle ran great, but it had a hesitation when I accelerated in first gear. I took the motorcycle to two different Honda dealers, neither of them were able to figure out what was causing the hesitation. After watching your video, I was able to see that whoever had worked on the carburetor last did not put the vacuum lines back in the right place and even left one off ( I should have caught that). After watching your video I went right out to my garage, hooked the vacuum lines up the way your video displayed, and voila! My Shadow is now running perfectly and the acceleration is perfect. Thank you for doing this video. You saved me hours of frustration and no telling how much more money.
Thanks for the video! I just got my first bike. I'm super excited about it. It was my dad's bike, then my brothers, and now it's mine. It needs some work but this video helped a ton. Thanks!
I’ve always done my own carb work on my dirtbikes and quads and other bikes but touching a carb this big where you can so easily mess up it, was nice to have the video thank you
Hey man i had to find one of your videos where i could comment to ask questions. Anyway i have a 2007 Honda 919. Could you give me your opinion on my issues? #1 pair valve elimination (i like popping and banging going down through the gears) yes yes I am from the old school. When i remove all unnecessary hoses and put the new covers over the pair valve reed blocks the valve itself will still be there i don't want rhe FI light coming on so is it ok to just leave it connected and zip tied to something so it's out of view ? or leave the pair valve electrical plug just hanging there ? Shorting the wires could overheat the circuit board I.E. the ecu or ignition module. #2 the machine has Two Brothers slip ons that are waaaay to loud they make smaller i.d. exhaust pieces that can be installed to quiet it down some so better flow than stock and serious weight loss will not be lost. Would you at this point do anything with the flapper valve i understand it is there more or less for a quieter idle but can be removed its not a whole lotta weight but it is more unnecessary clutter thats not needed. #3 your opinion on air filters i'm partial to K&N equipment. The machine is stone stock with 17k miles on the clock, Two Brothers slip ons, a shift shaft support bearing and a throttle tamer. It seems to be a little rich and i will replace the air filter before doing anything else. Please remember i want to pick your brain on this and i really value your opinion ... off subject quote of my day is i love older bikes because they ride like shopping carts oops i mean they have so much character. I grew up on bikes the 1st was a red Taco minibike with Briggs 5 and i was hooked. That was in 1970 i am a mechanic for all things mechanical but if i lived next door to you we would be together all the time and be doin just what you are doin. Anyway looking forward to your answers. Thank you John.🏍
Love your videos. I've been trying to figure out why mine only runs with the choke pulled out. If I push it in, it dies. If I give it throttle, it dies. Help please?
Where should the coolant lines come from because it seems they bypassed them on the bike I have. And is the fuel tank vacuum lines part of the T lines that are on the carb?
when your pulling the hoses off ,,,,Big or small. can you tell me where they go when your pulling them off? that would be very helpful,, thank you ,,great video ,,
Just bought the carb for an Honda shadow but it came with a brass little pipe by the choke and my bike doesn't gor that pipe or a hose to go to that pipe. Can you tell me what is it and if it can be close or cap
Hey man! Quick question. The two vacuum hoses on the front side of the carburetor body, what do they connect to ? I can’t find the port that the tube that goes into. I know it goes under the frame but what’s on the other side ?
Hi, does signing up on your website for the $20 monthly give me access to the "Single Carb Cleaning Workshop" that includes the 04-09 VT750 that is sold on it's own for $40? That is exactly what I need but I would rather pay a membership for less cost and get more info. However, I need to make sure that membership is going to let me access the one course I absolutely need at the moment. If you can let me know on this ASAP it will be very appreciated, I have a carb pulled out of my bike and now it's just sitting there waiting. Thanks!
What's the problem when an 03 750 idles fine, but when you pull back on the throttle, it chokes out and stalls? New to bikes and bout to start taking her apart
Pls put down a video of cleaning a carb of a honda shadow vt750 c2 1997 and why is my main fuel jets different 1 is nr108 and the other 1 is nr112 and pls witch 1 comes L and Right on the carbs
I have a 2002 Honda shadow ..took it out the other day it sputtered a couple times gave it some throttle and stopped then coming home it lost power had to hold it wide open and it would only go about 59 mph ..does that sound like a carburetor problem ?
Another dangerous thing that could happen happened to me on a 80's 650 Yamaha Special. When the gas filled my crankcase the bike started fine and as I got to the first stoplight the crankcase breather has drenched my rear tire in oil. Don't know how that car missed me.

Easily the best video on removing the carb from this bike!
LOVE the extra tidbits of knowledge - Like the chocke info, etc.
Changed my life fr. Could not find the answers for that prior. Was a total eureeka! Moment!
Excellent video. Very simple step by step process and good clear camera angles. Thanks man!
Do you happen to have a video of the breakdown of this carb for cleaning/rebuilding? I’m stuck and don’t wanna break anything haha
So how you put it back now?
ive got a 2003 vt750 dcb that wont start, id dig the cheat sheets for this model on how to work on it. Thx Doc!
Great video, would suggest better lighting as you dig into the deeper recesses of the bike though.
Thank you for this video. I used it to help me remove and clean the carb on my 09 Shadow.

I would like to see the rest of the video, to see how you fix the problem.
Very well explained bro… is there another video in which you teach how to get it cleaned up?
You make great videos!
I love your channel, Bro.

Do you have a video of replacing the fuel injectors on a Honda shadow cruiser vt400, 2011…
when your pulling the hoses off ,,,,Big or small. can you tell me where they go when your pulling them off? that would be very helpful,, thank you ,,great video ,,

Very helpful, much appreciated dude 👍🏻
Thank you I really hope I can do this

This is the same model carb as i have. Would you be able to explain wjere the welsh plugs can be found so i can afjust my ??idle drop??
Do have to empty the fuel tank before removing this? My throttle won't snap back into place, should I follow all these steps to get to it to see why?
What's the problem when an 03 750 idles fine, but when you pull back on the throttle, it chokes out and stalls? New to bikes and bout to start taking her apart
Is there a part 2 to this video?
very helpful! well done, sir!

AWESOME video thanks so much!
I like your videos more without the music playing in the background because I cannot hear fully what you were saying :-)
What year is this bike ?
I have a inline 4 carb on my 1996 Nighthawk that will not budge. Do you have a how to for a Nighthawk? If so, I couldn't find it. Please help!
I have one in the works brother!
What year please
@TheMotorcycleMD Hey can i reference this for my 2004 vlx 600
Hi great video, im just wondering if one of the choke pistons is supposed to be open all the time on a hinda cb750?
Not really, but it doesn't necessarily hurt either. Mostly used for cold weather.
I have a 2002 Honda shadow ..took it out the other day it sputtered a couple times gave it some throttle and stopped then coming home it lost power had to hold it wide open and it would only go about 59 mph ..does that sound like a carburetor problem ?
Absolutely!! The jets get gummed up with old fuel or if it's been sitting too long

Would a dual carb setup be about the same removal process?
do you know where i can get one of those rubber grommets that go between the tank and the odometer
wait so if your pulling coolant lines from the carb do you have to bleed the coolant system when everything is put back togeather
No. The way the cooling system operates. It will bleed itself and use the overflow
haha! I had my volume way too high for the redline intro
Just trying to keep people on their toes 😂😂
Ty
Your welcome!
how to put it back????
Longest running bike ever produced
Dang there's a lot of corrosion on that bike. Great tutorial, though! Thanks
Forgot to mention "crank case detonation" as well

I think I'd like to see the cussin and fussin on a re-installing video :)
2:10 seconds in to the meat of the video.
Playing music while you are talking makes it difficult to hear what you are saying.
I'm over my head
Should lower the music sonny i can barely hear or use subtitles
No way I'm doing this!! How much would the shop cost me
Why look it up?!?
Damn annoying intro
