Having fun and sharing knowledge on two wheels! I've been riding since spring of 2021 and am loving life on two wheels! The Honda Shadow Aero 750 has proven to be a wonderful bike and has already taken me places I would not have gone to otherwise. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to ride as many bikes as I can but for now the cruiser life works for me. Right now I am sticking to shorter trips in and around my local area but hope to get into some actual adventures in the future! We'll see what we get in to!

I turned my Kawasaki Mean Streak 1600 into a BAGGER?
#1, don't start on a Honda Shadow. Start on a go cart, golf cart, farm tractor, lawn mower, bicycle, moped... then when you're ready... Classic Honda Rebel 250c I repeat, do not start on a friggin heavy as sh lt Honda Shadow. I have one. Do not recommend this bike ever to new beginners. It's too big, too heavy, not as controllable... as a smaller bike. You are doing a disservice if you do... they will be turned off from motorcycling because yeah, it will feel dangerous as F. That was my impression when I first got on my first Shadow. A year later, I'm somewhat acclimated to it's quirks, but I still treat it like a rattlesnake.
I bought the first pair and in high heat, I couldn't tell the difference between low and high settings. It felt mild in high heat and riding in 45 degrees F. I replaced them with a new pair. I rode the new pair in 35 degree F and set in high heat and it was better, I can feel more heat. After riding for about 1.5 hours in street and freeway traffic, my fingers were starting to get cold. I think they're good for short commutes but long touring and freeway/highway ridings, I'd pass and find a different brand.
Constant battle down here. Florida summers get very hot and very humid, and full gear SUCKS. Its fine when you're riding but as soon as you hit a red light you start burning
Yes Sir ,especially here in Dfw Texas
Link goes to gloves that in Kamimoto store say for skiing. For a few dollars more they have a different glove in their store that is listed as motorcycle?
That is odd. When I click on it I get ones with this description "KEMIMOTO Motorcycle Winter Gloves Men Gauntlet Touch Screen Gloves Riding Windproof Water Resistant Carbon Fiber Women Warm Enduro Motorcycle Mitts ATV UTV Scooter Snowmobile Black XL"
@@LuckyAcesRidingI loaded it in my phone in case it’s different to my computer. After scrolling down below about this item they list Product Details. On desktop it is Product information and you have to click item details to expand it: Phone: Size X-Large Sport Skiing Age Range (Description) Adult Desktop: Hand Orientation Ambidextrous Sport Type Skiing Was too confusing so I left ISSYAUTO and went to KEMIMOTO direct and their descriptions said motorcross and motorcycle slightly different style knuckle guard etc. but same overall gauntlet look.
I once did 400 miles in 24 degrees
I've been riding my VTX1300R this fall mostly because of the faring. I still get my Shadow Aero out a couple times a week, but my leather gloves are enough with the faring.
I’d be interested if you did a video on footwear in the cold. I’m at the foothills of NC and nearly froze the other day on my bike
"It's a Shadow 750 Aero, so it's more like mallard duck-ing it" 🤣🤣🤣
Look very nice, I’m planning to get a Honda shadow and do like this =)) 😅
one of the best bikes i ever seen, nice job
Thank you friend!
Doing this over the winter to my Aero for the same screaming issue at 70mph, thanks for the guide!
If yours is fuel injected it will read half and apparently need an adapter. Carb'd bikes it should not be an issue. Learned that from another viewer.
Hey man, I’ve been rebuilding a crashed ‘08 shadow spirit and I kinda want your opinion on the hanger bars and maybe how easy it’d be to get a replacement speedometer to work if you know, thanks man
The speedometer is beyond me unfortunately. I get asked from time to time why I have not swapped out the gas tank yet and it is because of the factory speedo being mounted there. As for the apes I love them. If you think about how you sit in a car with your hands at 10 and 2 the ape hangers just feel natural.
I just can’t do Harley ever again, I had one for a couple years and at first I kinda liked it, I was having fun and everything but then people started letting me try their bikes out, Honda cruisers, sport bikes, hell I even hopped on a Grom for a few miles😂 I found out really quickly that I hated riding Harleys and my wallet hated owning one so I got rid of it, got a ninja 650, crashed, now I’m rebuilding a 2008 Honda shadow 750 as a happy little in between
🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂
Of course he doesn’t know what he’s doing.. he owns a Tesla..😂😅
I don't knock people who own them because they like them, just the ones who think they are superior to everyone because they own one.
He wanted you to see how good his Pac Man impression is. Wakkawakkawakka
Make a perfect sign with right hand, that’s essentially how I manipulate my throttle hand on hills. That way I can keep my left foot up on the shifter peg and my right foot on the ground.
How to ruin a Honda Shadow 750 🤔🤦🏻♂️🙄🤷🏻♂️😜🤣!
I weigh 270lbs and I hit 100
Is it original handle bar ?
The handlebars in the video are 12" ape hangers.
@ thnx
How do I learn how to do the wiring as good as you man. Trying to build one of these soon
I am an amateur for sure. Probably the best advice I can give is learn how to read a wiring diagram.
Are you riding throught on Exclusive Club Neighboorhood? or all the street at USA are like that
Not really exclusive but not the worst neighborhood in town.
How do you like the six inch extensions? I was thinking about getting them for my 06 spirit 750. Does it still handle well on curvy roads? I live in the Rocky Mountains so corners are a must. Does it feel wobbly or anything weird?? Thanks in advance!
At first the steering will probably feel a little "heavier" if that makes sense. After about 15 minutes I got use to it and could whip the bike around like I use to. Slow speed turning may feel a little unstable but that was mainly parking lot moves and u-turns. All in all they felt pretty solid. I only took them off because I went with extended forks and a chopper rake kit from ChopperSupplyLLC.
If you have this intake don’t even talk to me lol
How do you fix the wobble sir?
It could be caused by a few things. Tire pressure, steering neck bearings, out of round wheel, front tire not being balanced, out of round tire. For me it was my fork oil. One side looked new and the other was gray and very thin.
Just ordered these…so you didn’t rejet? I didn’t buy baffles. Would it be a major difference?
When I got my bike one of the previous owners drilled out the baffles in the factory exhaust and did not re-jet. With just this exhaust I did not and it actually seemed to run better. You should be fine without rejetting but might get a little decel pop. I wouldn't worry about it.
@@LuckyAcesRiding I installed them already and they feel fine. Love the noise it makes. Definitely make cars look twice.
@@Halfwit312 Awesome! Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I am horrible when it comes to looking at comments.
I definitely will correct them
What is that banging noise.
Audio was recorded using a cheap bluetooth headset. I'm thinking distortion with the wind noise? Either way, we have evolved since then.
No sport bikes! You'll be hunched over the rest of your life! 😂
Hunched over and faster than 80% of anything on the road 😎
I have both, no issue here 🤣
I LOVE bobbers and was actually looking for a video that transforms a basic one into a bobber Yours is the only one i found so far that did it and even showed it. Thank you
Thanks! While I am sure this video does not cover everything I hope it helped guide you in the right direction!
IDK how, but this video is playing back as about 20fps inside a 30fps stream. The main reason this is so strange is because 20fps isn't a possible filming spec on action cams. I think something screwy may have happened in editing, but IDK what it is.
That is odd. The last time something like this happened was due to the bit rate being way too high (over 100k). I know for sure this was recorded in 4k 30fps and rendered the same with a 30k bit rate. I'll have to go back and check but I'm pretty sure the raw footage did not indicate any issues.
@@LuckyAcesRiding Aight. Also, just for future reference, you might want to look into setting shutter-priority auto exposure mode and a 1/50th of a second shutter speed for nicer and more realistic motion blur. Shutter priority makes it so the shutter speed can't change as a part of the exposure. High shutter speeds lack motion blur and look bad by making the motion choppy. The bad news is forcing a relatively open/slow shutter like this for proper motion blur might make the image too bright in direct sunlight/mid-day, in which case you'll have to get an ND filter to compensate. If you only wanna buy one, I recommend an ND16 as that should only leave you slightly overexposed in the absolute brightest of situations. (I know this from a couple of race drone footage guys who run an ND16 on a GoPro)
Same here.
I bought a 1998 Honda shadow ace 750 less than a week ago. First bike ever, I’m 19, and I take my motorcycle course next Monday and Tuesday. The bike had a battery half the size it should’ve been, gas cap does stay in, carburetor was so clogged it wouldn’t start without the choke fully open. It was 1800 which may have been too much idrk but I’m trying to fix it up rn so I can start riding. Any advice from anyone would be nice :)
I'm a maintenance fiend. Get it maintained up, fix what needs to be fixed, and get it up to snuff before you start modding. If you start modding. I keep mine stock and just enjoy it for what it is. I may mod my next one. But that's just me.
I've modded the dog shit out of my 99 ace 750. Get it back to stock first. Partzilla is a good one for little odds and ends. Get a card rebuild kit, their like 20-30 bucks. You'll have dual carbs so it needs to be dual kit. It's a easy job don't be scared. Plenty of videos and walk throughs on forums. You got lucky with the 750 ace. Chain drive is such a god send on the 750. After you get it stock here's a short and easy list to crank the shadow to maximum. Drop your rear sprocket to a 38 tooth. Replace the hub cushions, advance your timing 4 degrees, open flow exhaust. Bean box air mod to turn your stock air box into a ram air, rejet your main to a bigger flow, and better clutch springs. That's about all you can do without ordering custom front sprockets and cutting your kick stand safety off to make room. I'm right there right now and the maximum I can get is 101 GPS, 0-60 6.2 GPS. I hold highway speeds of 85 with very little engine noise but there's not much power to be had since you're kinda riding in your peak powerband at 3500 rpms.
Highly recommend a bigger than stock battery btw. I went and got the biggest and coldest cranking one I could at my local batteries plus. It's double the juice and almost triple the cold cranking amps. I ride in the winters of the Midwest America and I tour in it. So I've learned the shadows are cold hearted. They don't like sitting out in the cold at 40 or below all night then gotten and ridden. You gotta let her warm up. If you have any issues after just hit the honda shadow forum. Very helpful guys there including myself. I post about my trips, mods, my now 7 accidents and how I've either fixed that or gotten around it. I'm still currently rebuilding my entire rear brake drum while still daily riding my shadow. Brake stop bar gave, snapped my brake assembly rod in half and twisted my brake arm up. From the pedal to the wheel as has to get replaced.
@@YerGoodBuddyKeith nice work. What exhaust did you use?
What is longer this set up or the tj brutals extentions? Great video by the way was just thinking about extending my front end on my 2020 phantom
This set up is longer for sure. The fork extensions are 6" and the extended fork tubes are 8" plus the kit adds an additional 14 degrees of rake. Compared to the fork extensions the front sits lower now and does not feel as top heavy as it did. With that being said I had no issues with the fork extensions but it took a minute or two to get use to the feel.
Add bags, and have a chopper, bobber, bagger... hehe
I've thought about it lol! I have a cheaper set of hard bags laying around but with the cut frame no way to mount them.
Where you bought windshield support?
It was on the bike when I bought it. It is however a Memphis Shades Batwing and uses their trigger lock kit.
Bought one of these in may, its my pride and joy. Easy to work on and have learned so much maintenance stuff on it. Great for the mountains. It keeps up on the twisties for sure.
Nice man! I'm looking at one now for $2k. I'm thinking of buying it
Hey man, good bideo
Thanks! I appreciate it!
just want to ask where can i get the fender like that?
The front or the rear? The front is from a 07 Spirit and the rear is from BlueCollarBobbers.com, I've also since went with their front fender as well.
Lucky,it’s me again ,last November sold a 2013 HD Electra glide 103 cubic inches went straight to the Honda dealership in Grapevine Tx ,purchased 2024 Shadow Aero 750 and a year later I can’t not describe the joy about this nibble piece of perfection,no overheating no leakings no miss diagnosis from the HD dealership mechanic department no stress just pure joy
I remember you had the 24 Aero! These bikes are not the biggest but they have a lot of heart....at least as much as a machine can anyway!
Riding a 2003 Black Widow/Spirit, I just can second that. These 750es are a blast to ride, rock solid, and reliable.
love my 750 shadow, very comfortable and the power is perfect, super smooth and far from being dangerous, enough to ride around and overtake if needed, if you like to speed a bit its not for you
Love it! 😎 👍
Good job brother
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Thanks for the tutorial 👍
Welcome! Glad you found it helpful!
@LuckyAcesRiding Got everything ready and will try it today with my Honda Phantom. TA200. 👍
Thanks man, I’m actually building my first bike, found a free bike on FB that wasn’t a scam 😂 but the guy before me crashed hard on it, never worked on bikes before so I’m kinda learning as I go Speaking of which: on an ‘08 shadow spirit 750 C2 will anything go wrong if I just plug in a non OEM speedometer?
Honestly I am not sure. I have heard that the speedometer assembly needs to be plugged in for the bike to run. Of course that is something I read somewhere online so no idea if it is accurate.
