- Hi Folks! In this video we wanted to show a low cost kit that can be used to build a protective structure around an outside well and pump system. we purchased this kit from Lowes but honestly you can get these types of low cost metal structures from many sources. The total cost for the structure was a little less than $300. we thought this might be an interesting alternative for folks looking for such a solution.

Love your videos! I'll try and share of course
Thank you for watching and sharing!
Great idea! thanks for the video!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it Hopefully it was helpful.
I like the low cost and simplicity of the construction, but how durable would this be under redwood trees in California? The redwoods we have frequently drop branches up to 6 inches in diameter during winter storms which would cause great damage to the well head if not protected by a strong roof. Would this type of structure would hold up to this?
This would not work for your application. There is no internal steel or frame structure to give it any support. It is low cost and simple for our purposes of keeping the rain and snow off our pump. Thank you for your question and watching.
Do you have the Lowe’s link?
Do you by chance know the model number of this shed at Lowes? I am looking for one. Thank you for your time.
Yes, the model # is WES-PS22-0080-8K. This is a patiowell 6'x3' galvanized storage shed. The Lowes part # is 5377883. Price today is now $273 was $259 in July. Up $14 or 5% in 3 months, Inflation....🤔
How's that working through the winter? Also, any trouble with bees or wasps making homes in there?
This made it through the winter pretty well. We don't really get super cold Winters so I didn't need to insulate the inside. But I'm thinking if I lived in a climate that stayed freezing for a prolonged period of time I would use foam board insulation on the inside. At this point I haven't had any trouble with the wasps but it would be an excellent home so I'm sure they'll find it at some point. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comment.
@@BareMtnFarma light bulb should be enough to keep it from freezing
You must not get freezing winter weather there.
We do get freezing weather but not for extended periods of time. We are going to add a bit of insulation to the shed. Thank you for watching.
