    Ty Cobb is an interesting case but I will say that some of the stories come from one guy who hated him. He then waited till he passed to write "true stories" about him smearing his name. Sure he wasn't the best guy out that but many of the bad stories really need to be examined closer. Also he advocated for the spikes to be dulled so they did less damage.

    • @C4m4r0
      @C4m4r0 9 месяцев назад +16

      I wish more people knew that almost every story we heard about him being an asshole was made up by one guy on a mission to destroy his name.

    • @jimmyplenderleith9471
      @jimmyplenderleith9471 9 месяцев назад

      OK, a lot of Cobb stories about him being an asshole came out while Cobb was still alive. He didnt fight a lot of people for various reasons AFTER he died, he didnt make racist comments to multiple people after he died. Look at the photos of him sliding, he's going in spikes up literally a foot from the catcher. Yeah, all this bad stories are due to 1 guy. Maybe that guy made him look worse, but Cobb was a bad human before anything was said after his death.

Same with Bonds but Bonds still got shown love when he played & every time he was at bat!!! Bonds used to own a bagel and coffee shop in redwood shores and i know a few people that worked there in late 90s early 2000s and they said Bonds was definitely lets say not the best guy to work for..BUT BONDS STILL WAS EXCITING TO WATCH PLAY! Ty so much for pointing out how Ty cobb was unfairly portrayed. When I was younger I saw the movie, I read Al stumps book and loved learning about this reckless man. A hard playing, no nonsense leave it all on the field player yet was a bigger monster off the field. Then the internet came about, and I got more of the same information and then some, a lot of it contradicting what I thought was fact and Charles Leerhsens captivating book came out and my mind was blown and I stand firmly that this man should be as iconic to baseball in a good way like a babe ruth, who also wasnt perfect but is still a beloved member of this amazing game.

I loved his production once he joined the Yankees, but it took years to warm to him and MOST Yankee fans never did. This was going on LONG BEFORE the PED interview with Katie Couric or even the Mark and Sammy summer of 1998. ARod was truly HATED on a PERSONAL level by people who don't personally know him!

      Maybe his cadence and choice of emphasis on the last word of each sentence too? Guy unsettles me with how he talks

    You have to have Bud Selig as most hated. Some of the greatest players in history (Bonds, Clemens, etc.) who should be in the Hall won’t be because they’re being thrown under the bus to protect owners and no one is more responsible for this sickening travesty than Bud Selig.

    John Rocker as an "honorable mention" is absurd. He's an all-timer.
    Add Curt Schilling
    Add Kenny Rogers
    I see some people saying Bryce Harper. But I think Harper might actually belong on a list called "Most Devisive."

    The 2017 Astros should've been stripped of the WS title, don't forget they cheated the entire playoffs so the Dodgers weren't the only ones screwed.

    While not hated as much as anyone on this list I'll throw Chase Utley out there.
