Rey uses the force to pull down a First Order Transport Ship as it is believed that they captured Chewbacca and also The Sith Dagger. Kylo Ren gets out of his burning ship and opposes Rey by using the force to push the ship into space and escape. Rey becomes angry and accidently uses force lightning and blows up the ship. She then believes she killed Chewie. With no time to waste, Rey, Finn, Poe, C3PO and BB8 escape in Ochi's ship.
When it's discovered that the evil Emperor Palpatine did not die at the hands of Darth Vader, the rebels must race against the clock to find out his whereabouts. Finn and Poe lead the Resistance to put a stop to the First Order's plans to form a new Empire, while Rey anticipates her inevitable confrontation with Kylo Ren. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.

      - Palpatine had made clones of himself or had been trying to, his essence transferred into that body. “Essence Transfer” isn’t something new, it’s been touched on multiple times in both books & videogames.
      - The crash with Kylo does confuse me a little bit. The man walked away from a fireball, but somehow Disney said he’s fine. Maybe he did something similar to what Grogu did, put a force barrier around himself.
      - Chewie was on a different ship… I don’t understand it but I don’t get paid to question it nor do I care enough.
      - Yes, because they explained prior to the movie (and in some of the Legends novels) that one of his clones was raised like Boba was… as a child. It was his “son” who had Rey.

Eh, I wouldn't say everything. The special effects, the music, and (most) of the acting were great. But the writing, pacing, some of the acting (most notably from Daisy Ridley who was just unforgivably awful, as well as Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher to a slightly lesser extent; they weren't bad per se but their hearts clearly weren't in it after so many decades), and fight choreography in all three films were complete shit.
Which is extremely frustrating since people like Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Ian McDiarmid, Adam Driver, etc. actually give some pretty great performances, all wasted on horribly written characters. Fuck Disney, Kathleen Kennedy, JJ Abrams, and Rian Johnson.

Actually they had a lot of passion. Hell, one of them actually wrote “Empire Strikes Back”! They REAL problem is that the “fans” didn’t LIKE what they wrote, which scared Lucasfilm into making the writers do what the “fans” said they wanted. Biggest mistake they ever made.

    • @jeff0247598
      @jeff0247598 Год назад +21

Agree 100%. I think Disney should hire the best writers they can and also bring in several SERIOUS lifelong Star Wars fans who have immersed themselves in the Star Wars universe since childhood and have a deep understand and love for the myth and lore and "core" principles of Star Wars style storytelling to advise the writers when they go a bit "off course" . Kind of like a Star Wars "think tank". The fans aren't necessarily writing the movie, just providing guidance and information when an idea or plot twist is incongruent with the Star Wars storyline/timeline and events. It's fun to bring back big characters but it's also a "cheap" move unless done very VERY well and a plausible explanation is behind it.

Reminds me of the predecessor of naruto (boruto) where all the kids randomly achieve great power with literally no training whatsoever.
Rasengan? S rank jutsu, only the most skilled shinobi could learn and perform it.
Boruto: Yeah lol look at this chakra ball I just formed.
Star wars: Palpatine, one of the most powerful Sith lords ever, produces force lighting that can pulverise you at any second if he wishes.
Rey: Ey yo I didn't even know I could do this YET I managed to blow up a ship.
    This scene was hilarious

Anakin, a powerful jedi, couldn't use force lightning when he turned to the Dark Side and neither could Darth Maul, an experienced Sith Lord trained by the Senate himself.
Meanwhile Rey Sue uses it by accident. Insane writing

    • @Kardanwelle1994

    • @THE2SOURCE

Maul could use lightning but considered it unworthy as he used a saberstaff to overwhelm his opponents. Anakin was the same way. He felt he didn't need lightning before his duel with Obi-Wan. Lightning is powered through emotion, which is why you see Rey going through different emotional states.

Damn, I still remember how I freak out when I saw Force Lightning from Ray's hand. After all, I remembered that the only canonical Star Wars characters who used this ability were Palpatine, Count Dooku, Mother Talzin, Darth Momin, Son, Snoke and Yoda (considering that in the Last Jedi he summoned lightning to burn a tree). But even when I watched The Force Awakens, I realized that Ray really might not be who she seems. It was only when Kylo Ren revealed to her that Palpatine was her grandfather that everything fell into place in my head.

Everyother time you see force lightning used even by masters of the dark side it is hardly enough to kill a person and honestly seems more like torture then anything else.

I never understood straining yourself physically the way Rey did when using the Force.
Idk if the director told her to do that or it's left up to the actors but Adam Driver nailed it. It's a matter of concentration more than twitching your muscles like you're actually pulling something with your core strength. So you making the face as if you're holding something heavy isn't the way to go.
It's like trying to make a tough jump in Mario. Moving your body isn't going to do anything. You need to focus on Mario's travel and press jump the moment he touches that one pixel. And when you're staring so intensely at TV that someone can enter your room without you noticing.
