Precisely, it would have done a wonderful job of showing this in a way that leaves no room for doubt. While I would be skeptical of of her defeating Palpatine on her own, she is not fighting alone. She has the support of essentially the entire light side of the force against a being who has essentially become the physical representative of the dark side. That is a fitting way to end this conflict.

In Return of the Jedi he took pleasure in toying with Luke by stopping to give him time to realize what was happening and how strong the Dark side is. His final assault was preceded by the great line of "now you will die!" accompanied by a big smile. So did I miss something that indicated that he couldn't control the power once he activated it?

Why couldn't anyone call on dead Jedi to help them in battle before Ray? And why wouldn't the force ghosts appear to help Luke? Why didn't Qui Gon ever appear to help Obi Wan? It just seems a bit cheap. I would have preferred an ending where Kylo and her take out the emperor together. But we can't have that now can we?
Should have been the Sith and Jedi both die. Then balance would really be restored to the Force. You could still have Rey survive, she could forge her own path not as a Jedi or a Sith (or a Skywalker)

Probably the Single Worst Movie Ever Made. How Many People did we watch die who showed up later in the movie to do battle in the final scenes? How Many Disney Star Wars are there now? 25? 30? Each one seems to be worse than the one before.

Actually, they were indeed going to showcase the Force Ghosts, but a superstition in China disallowed then from doing so.
