I was both happy and sad about this scene. Despite the fact that the last time we got all four actors voicing lines for their characters in the Ghostbusters video game, this scene would be the last time we would see all four OG characters together on the big screen. Rest in Peace, Mr. Ramis and Mr. Reitman. You are both missed. :*(
one thing it took me a bit to realize, was the logistics of the OG's showing up when they did. Ray gets the phone call, gets a few clues that Egon's running off had more than what was on the surface, and he calls up Peter and Winston and they IMMEDIATELY get the move on to go help. Decades of them thinking he had done them dirty, but the hint that his kids needed some help, and they were there.
I still can't forgive Bill Murray for refusing to do Ghost Busters again until after Ramis died, and then tried to take all the credit for bringing it back.
For CGI, they did a phenomenal job making Egon's ghost look as human as possible with little to no distinction of it being computer generated; a difficult feat. It looks like Harold Ramis is actually there. Impressive. RIP to my favorite ghostbuster, and the legend who directed the first two. Thanks for making my childhood

Ramis and Murray were very close friends IRL until the filming of Groundhog Day. The arguments and anger boiled over into some actual violence on set. They then didn't even speak to each other for over 20 years. Then one day, out of the blue, Murray told family that he had a feeling about Ramis. So he shows up at his house with what he remembered was Ramis's favorite doughnuts. They talked through the night and made up.. Ramis passed away not long after that. Murray became a notoriously difficult prima Donna to have on set. Ramis was one of the few people he'd listen to and reign it in. But after fame seriously got to his head, even Ramis could no longe contain him. It's honestly a sad story.. I'm more inclined to believe Murray has real psychological issues that needed resolving. I have to be honest as a big Ghostbusters fan. The movie itself was well put together, the Actors were Fantastic, but this moment right here, was a bit off a tear jerker, to see Harold Ramis with the team was amazing.
Something that must not be forgotten appart of CGI/...of Harold Ramis beiing part of the movie is that who directed it was Jason Reittman, 1 of Ivan Reitman sons.

I realize that they used special effects to bring the character of Egon Spengler AKA actor Harold Allen Ramis back to the to be there so to speak it was just a beautiful tip of the hat to a wonderful actor who is no longer among the living I mean the way they did it was beautiful they didn't try to copy his voice they let him my guess is they took a copy of what he looked like in the original or even on the red carpet or whatever when he was when he did on a Comic-Con or whatever and they just copied it into their using well the special effects to to do that what makes it so special is the fact they did not try to imitate or copy his voice to do it they made him a ghost and it's a nice tip of the hat to him, I just wish that I could have watched the whole movie.
It’s just freak sad. Like this is cool and a very nice touch. It’s just emotional that Harold Ramis isn’t here. Wish he was. Ivan Reitman to. All missed dearly. 😢🙏

I definitely get the impression that with those last lines, they weren't acting.
Not gonna lie, I cried hard the first five times I saw Egon. I've toned down to a tear or two now. 😢
3:26 when I was in the theatre I yelled THEIR BACK BOYYYYYSSSSSS
Are u a god ?
Rey: oh shit, when i say no again.....😂😂
Afterlife ran so Frozen Empire could fall flat on its face.
Im glad i was alone at the theater when watching this one, because i cried and cried like a f***ing baby.
I still get choked up watching this scene
Only a ghost can bust a ghost with help from his friends.
I have to be honest as a big Ghostbusters fan. The movie itself was well put together, the Actors were Fantastic, but this moment right here, was a bit off a tear jerker, to see Harold Ramis with the team was amazing.
I’m not crying!!! It’s just an eyelash in my eyes is all 😢😢😢😢😢
Then get it out
Call me a whip but I cried right here @7:15 😢😢😢🎉🎉❤❤❤❤ I'm a 79 baby I grew up watching them and have rewatched ghost busters many times
Something that must not be forgotten appart of CGI/...of Harold Ramis beiing part of the movie is that who directed it was Jason Reittman, 1 of Ivan Reitman sons.
the most heart felt tribute to a wonderful man i could think of i was so happy this movie was made and the og Busters came back and once again busted some ghosties
Love this! Egon was always my favorite!
This is so cool. First time I ever ever seen a ghost get taken out by the ghost of a Ghostbuster.
Ok imma say it this scene made me tear up I'm man enough to admit it I grew up in the 90s but I was very fortunate to know the ghostbusters movies and who Egon was so when I saw this scene came up I teared up and it still makes me tear up in a good way i loved how this was done thank you for honoring Harold Ramis this way this is how it's done
Nooooo! Don’t shoot the Minis!! They can be good I promise.
And then the tears started
R.I.P. Harold Ramis
This scene no matter how many times I watch it makes me cry. They really put the feels into this.
6:25 Amazing 😢
3:33 this was everyone’s reaction to see them return
Harold ramis come back to help his grandson the fight all the ghost with his old friends I really love that scene
Winston's line is the most heart wrenching one in the movie.
I miss him too.
If that is not the best tribute to a deceased actor than I don't know what is...
I cried a lot when I saw this in the theaters. So much wonderful nostalgia for the four.
I cried at this scene when Egons ghost apperes
You are by no means the only one. Egon fan from day one here, too.
I choked up a bit when this scene went down. 😢
This was a damn good movie. It was a retelling of the first movie, but not in a bad way.
I felt like it was more like a conclusion than a retelling.
The first movie was only an encounter or Gozer.
This was them finishing the fight.
I found this and the frozen empire at Walmart I think bought it. Didn't realize both are around two hours long but good watch to go through
It’s just freak sad. Like this is cool and a very nice touch. It’s just emotional that Harold Ramis isn’t here. Wish he was. Ivan Reitman to. All missed dearly. 😢🙏
I thought it was real cool and classy that they brought back a legend in ghost form but what makes it even cooler is the fact that they got a legend to do the body double for Harold Ramis 0:56
seeing the OG Ghost Busters together gave me tears for a second, and my childhood instantly flashes. ❤
😭💔 R.I.P. Harold
I love how they all still have the same chemistry lol
Egon’s my favorite Ghostbuster! If only the actor who played him was still alive!
Christ sakes, I’m starting to cry like I did on opening night. It just always gets me when Egon guides her thrower, then when I see all four of them back together - I just lose it completely. I’m not ashamed to say I’ve cried whenever I see this.
They definitely did this in the most respectful way possible
About the Ghostbusters, for me is this the saddest scene Ever!!!! R.I.P. Harold Ramis!!! Its so sad that he is not alive in this scene but I think to make him a Ghost is still the BEST Legacy we can give him an Tribute!!!
7:35 to 8:18 light our darkest hour and pure goosebumps !!!!!
Aw I got a little emotional. I watched the original films in the early 90's when I was maybe 10-12 years old. I watched this movie with my 13 year old daughter this year. A genuine passing of the baton to the next gen, but honouring what came before. Love it!
I would be thinking where the hell is the original ghost busters at lol
That’s the 2nd time Egon’s been a ghost.
Explain.
@@GipsyDangerfanin the cartoon of the series, can’t remember which episode though
@@coolcattigger Was it the episode where they came back from fighting Mr. "White and Soft" Staypuft himself and their outfits were more or less possessed?
I liked it , it moved the franchise forward with a respectful nod to the history of the franchise
Question :
If a ghost like Egon Spengler can just appear as needed and interact with people he knew, then what is so bad about dying? He doesn't have to worry about bills, taxes, healthcare, or going to the bathroom anymore.
Okay that's wrong to say like that but not going to lie that's funny😂
2:38 I don’t even want to know what that would feel like💀😂
This scene hit so hard. I loved it. Harold Ramis would have been proud.
Lady Warrior --Respect! (0:53)
And (5:59).
I loved this scene, especially when Ray, Peter and Winstead showed up, but when Ghost Egon appeared, I became that same 5 year old kid (was 5 when it first released in theaters) all over again and was both excited and felt my feels destroyed.
This was a nice send-off and good bye to Harold Ramis. R.I.P.
4:06 Looks like the writers watched "How Ghostbusters Should Have Ended"
Still a better representation of a deceased actor than Alien: Romulus
A True masterpiece.
what a great hommage to their friend
THIS IS HOW YOU PAY TRIBUTE TO THE ORIGINAL
Darn, these onions have my eyes leaking 😢
Go get her Ray!
Harold Ramis could be hooked up to a generator with the rate he spins in his grave.
Like a Prayee (Choir Version) would go so well with this.
