Seems like a lot of people are completely missing the main point of this plugin. While it can me used for many ideas, its main focus is transitioning from one part of the mix/song to another. It's not just your regular run of the mill multi effects plugin of which there are a dime a dozen. Very few plugins fit this mold of being mainly for transitions. You have a very easy to use interface and up to 7 bays to put any of 18 or so effects and then one knob to rule them all. Yes, you can replicate this with other software, but it's more work. A lot more work. Just as Andrew Huang or watch his video where he explains why he went ahead and made this plugin. Also some people are saying that in FL Studio or Reaper or whatever DAW is in focus, that you can do something similar for free. First off, I highly doubt that you can actually achieve as easily in any of those DAWs what you can with Transit especially as far as transitions go. Also even if you can, not everyone uses those DAWS, so whatever "solution" you think you have found in say FL Studio won't necessarily be in Logic or Ableton. The beauty of Transit is that it can be used in any DAW, on any computer and it'll work exactly the same in any environment that it's it.
I was nearly compelled to post the same thing. So many people missing the point entirely. And then you got the people who evidently don't know anything about Baby Audio, thinking this plugin was gonna be trash.
no we get it...but what makes you think muti-fx presets make good transitions...mouse music paint by numbers coloring book collage art laziness...movement, tension, and excitement should come from the musical ideas in your arrangement and/or from your performance by actually playing the parts...If you need a plugin to "keep the listener interested", and that interest is supposed to be provided by a sweep between gimmicky multi-fx presets;...then you simply don't have a good song...people are allowed to call out hyperbole when it happens...if ur in the camp reducing composing and songwriting into djing and dsp video gaming then have at it...make the same simplistic generative stuff and sound like everyone else...with all the hyerbole I thought it was something else and was surprised to find out what it was...but that's on me...i should have known better...that's marketing in a saturated vertical for 2023 And as already said, this has been native in tracktion, HH, and mulab for years...now FL studio and bitwig...and there are many plugin racks with macro designers that can be used in any DAW...mux, bidule, freestyle, studiorack
It's awesome if you're using Studio one or Reaper (and any other straight ahead type DAW) But you can make the same thing with little effort in Bitwig, if not even better (and I know in FL, and I would assume in Abelton as well)
Studio one or reaper users could use the free Waves studio rack to chain existing plugins and assign macros. It has better routing options better macro controls and did I mention it was free?

Great to see an honest looking review like this First glance. I imagine this would have higher quality reverbs and other fx. Great to hear it’s not a total cpu hog too. Also, the way complex automation can be handled in ableton + some of the limitations and tediousness of ableton racks compared to what is a lot more drag and drop and ready to roll… I think it could spice up elements in my music and may actually be performative enough for some live jamming on my drum machine and synths… Im thinking of giving it a shot!
I would take the claim “Game changer” with a grain of salt myself, but if someone like Andrew Schepps is looking forward to using this plugin “the wrong way” I’m like “Okay, you have my undivided attention”. And $60 isn’t bad.
Big fan of baby audio and figured this would be great for workflow and creating some unique intros. Took me all of 5 minutes to get a new song idea with this. Not gonna lie, I have other multifx plugins that do nearly the same exact thing. This one seems to be more efficient and usable.

Yes it's from this pack 6teenlevels.com/products/trappin-in-heaven-electra-xp-preset-bank the other is from this one 6teenlevels.com/products/trappin-in-heaven-electra-xp-preset-bank
After using it for a month now, I can honestly say... it's kinda meh. I loved it to start with, but I've found myself going back to my old, more controlled ways of achieving the same thing. It's got some pazaz right out of the box, but it soon loses it appeal.
Andrew Huang makes bleep bloop music. I could see him mapping lfos to all the knobs and embracing the randomness. It's nothing special, but it's no different than the million different equivalent vsts in existence
It's pretty good, and reasonably priced. Although, one of their main goals was to simplify workflow by using one single plugin instead of several plug-ins, but it still kinda feels like working on several plugins at to me. (shrug) Also, since Baby Audio has a ducker on their Spaced Out delay/reverb plugin, it would be sick of they added that to Transit. Ducking is pretty crucial when you're combining all kinds of reverbs and delays together. I realize it can be done with other plugins and methods, but it' also very nice to just have that duck-knob right there ready to roll.
My opinion is that if you’re new to the game it’s a quick creative addition. If you’ve been around the block it’s probably not going to be much of an addition to what you already have. Also, I tested it myself and some of the sections add some harsh resonance in the upper mids. Maybe it’s a bug? These kind of resonances can build up, if you don’t know what you’re doing, and by the time your track gets to the mastering stage, you have a whole bunch of upper mid harshness that is enough to drive a mastering engineer mental (believe me, I am one). Baby Audio usually do decent stuff and this is “ok”. But not worthy of the hype at all. Plugins like Soothe and SplitEQ had no hype. They didn’t need it. I’d say try it out. You might like it.
Turnado did it many years ago and way better. The dictator is more powerful than the transition control knob and there are way more effects to choose from. It's such an underrated plugin and is flat out nuts. Trust me and try it.
Shaperbox makes transitions, and does about a million things transit doesn't. Infiltrator 2 has 52 effects to choose from and sequencing. They are both pricey sure but this will be after the sale Even the free tug multi effect allows parallel effect chains. Transit seems quite good but the bullshit hype puts people off. No need to get all your mates to be disingenuous Andrew. 😮 It is just another multi effect with a macro knob. At this stage i would be disappointed if a plugin didn't have randomisation and parameter locks.
@@adr7657 to be fair to Transit I didn't realise it had built in macro envelopes , which makes it a bit more of a workflow hack. Worth looking at waves studio rack too , it's free and works with third party vst 3 plugins .
I scratched my head when weaverbeats didn't make fun of this plugin. I clicked his video to see him roast this thing into oblivion, but he had nothing. 😶
Agreed weaver, it's not a bad plugin but it does nothing that the "macro knob" device in one of the free Ableton packs doesn't do. Sure the effects seem nice, but there is no sequencing or modulation matrix built in, no advanced routing options. No visual feedback. Everything has randomization now and parameter locks are nothing new. Probably excellent for someone who doesn't already have a bunch of plugins or Ableton Suite, or maybe is too lazy/noob to set up macros.
IMHO, I think you are not using the plugin right. I mean, for what I understand the purpose is to use it for transitioning and even though I am not a big fan of Andrew Huang, I think the plugin covers that well. I see you using the transition knob as a Dry/Wet to test out the effects.
I never buy a plugin that has a RUclipsrs name on it... PS: Sugarbytes has a plugin called Tornado which looks and works way better ..I got Black Friday on sale for $29.99
"Turnado" plugin from Sugar Bytes was released already many years ago, and does the EXACT same job ! So what's the fuzz hype now about in this copycat plugin ?
@@AveMcree Ok but that was not what I was pointing about if you did mention it or not, or how great this new version is or not. My point is that the dude presented this plugin like it was so new and never done before , while if he did some research he would have found out that the older Turnado is basically doing the same job combining effects in a great way. He doesn't look so cool now people find out his new plugin is more like a Turnado 2.0 but here without the collaboration of the original Sugar Bytes guys. It is all just weird to me. Imagine me creating an exact copy of a Ferrari car , but put my own name of it because I changed a few colors on the chair. Of course people will start questions.

@@Kevhuman as an ableton live and M4L user from day one of the book of ableton live verse 1.0 I can tell you, the ableton rack macros are not the same.. the workflow is different, which btw was Andrews point being an ableton macro user himself.

No need to get all your mates to be disingenuous Andrew. 😮
It is just another multi effect with a macro knob. At this stage i would be disappointed if a plugin didn't have randomisation and parameter locks.
🙌🏻
@@adr7657 to be fair to Transit I didn't realise it had built in macro envelopes , which makes it a bit more of a workflow hack.
Worth looking at waves studio rack too , it's free and works with third party vst 3 plugins .
do this type of processing with built in plugs from daw
LOL, I wanted to like this review. Haha. Good on ya Ave.
Funny vid! I subscribed brother!
This video convinced me it's worth it!
that would be the first plugin from the Baby Audio catalogue that I kind of badly want to purchase
It's good trust me... I'm shocked
@@AveMcree must have!
It doesn't bring anything new for production. Use automation instead.
The only scenario where i see this plugin being useful is for live performances.
Andrew wang really hit it outa the park on this one boys!🙂
IMHO, I think you are not using the plugin right. I mean, for what I understand the purpose is to use it for transitioning and even though I am not a big fan of Andrew Huang, I think the plugin covers that well. I see you using the transition knob as a Dry/Wet to test out the effects.
Man what's this 2001: A Space Odyssey , NASA astronaut Tv dinner cafeteria school lunch tray looking VST ? Shit sounds dope hahaha
Baby audio, like Derek Sivers' company? Edit: nvm that's CD Baby
I might mess wid it, but I don’t wanna be a plug in junkie. I believe ableton has all the tools you could ever want.
I never buy a plugin that has a RUclipsrs name on it...
PS: Sugarbytes has a plugin called Tornado which looks and works way better ..I got Black Friday on sale for $29.99
instant sub 😄
"Turnado" plugin from Sugar Bytes was released already many years ago, and does the EXACT same job ! So what's the fuzz hype now about in this copycat plugin ?
I mentioned effectrix and sugar bytes as a reference. We’ll talk more about this subject soon.
@@klaurcschwackerberg1880see Behringer.
Andrew really knows his stuff. And i wasnt surprise it ended being good.
From a sound designers point of view, this thing is a god send BUT not the greatest plugin on earth, there is no such thing...I'm just saying
Looks like he worked with Baby Audio, so that's promising..
I figured when I saw the screensshot. def has the baby audio look lol. Been feeling their stuff alot lately
I bought it two days ago. I like it because you like it FL gang gang. 😂😂😅😮😮
not a little bit impressed, I'll stick with Cableguys and Sugar Bytes stuff, much more powerful than this
multi-effect plugin are addictive
That's great thanks
why you wanna hate it so bad? cuz of like a... preconception?
this is andrews huang chain
I have a few plugins that can do what Transit can do. They just don’t look as cool.
😂true
Baby audio are the bomb and andrew is talented win win
I think the dislikes might be because it's hard to hear your example. The volume is very low compared to your voice. Either way thank you. :)
Nah.. those dislikes happened 2-3 minutes after my upload
@AveMcree within 10 seconds, I heard you mispronounce Andrew's Surname. Shows a lack of care for the details. And your pissbaby responses in the comments make sure I won't return. You could listen, or just make up how you want to feel. Nbd, it's your channel.
Toodles.
@avemcreeThanks for that honest review 😎; much appreciated
no problem
I don’t see anything exciting with this plug-in so pass on that.
10:18 😂 it takes one to know one?
Long reign omnisphere
It's like SugarBites Turnado.
More like Looperator
More like Ujam Boost or Boom LIFTFX.
❤
Actually having useful presets is a big deal
Low key all these plug-ins are rip offs. They all do the same stuff with maybe one new feature. .... In other words perfect what you have and explore the entirety of what you have..... In other words ill be buying this! 😂😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
lol
I think it’s great
Thanks, man! Great video!
Ho hum, nothing special, just a rehashed multi fx with a macro knob.
Plugins get more expensive. Buy 5 plugins and you could buy a synth🤣 and learn actual how to play an instrument.🎉
Actually pretty dope!
Why do you pronounce Andrew’s last name wrong?
It’s basically “Ha-Wong” but as one syllable, to keep it simple.
He says it in all his videos lol
SOLD!
Andrew's philosophy is waay more MUSICAL than the usual multi fx chains offered by other companies
let's not jump off the bridge but yes it's good.
@AveMcree
I feel u, but for $59, its a short bridge, Kiddo. lol
I watched his video demo, too
He is using it in ways that are super interesting to a Funk/R&B producer, not just EDM (risers and transitions), or Lofi Hip Hop, etc.
Your video confirmed my thoughts, so I appreciate that
@@AveMcree It has a less complex UI (Kilo Heartz Snap Heap, but for $29 Snap Heap is insanely powerful)
yes its very good
Lmao I just died watching this video 😅
Let me use the trial or don’t, none of this worst of both worlds nonsense.
The price is pretty reasonable.
Eheh Wang
Based on your video and the material you demoed it I would not buy it..... I guess hard for youtubers to dont kiss the ass of huge youtubers.....
I didn’t kiss his ass😂😂😂 Andrew doesn’t fwm at all and it’s mutual.
A more expensive Kilohearts Snapheap, but influencer™ approved
Hmm 🤔
😃
people who think this is the same as ableton racks... matthew 13:13
If that can make VST plugins. I'm all for it!!!
People who know about the m4l device "macro knob" John 8.12
@@Kevhuman as an ableton live and M4L user from day one of the book of ableton live verse 1.0 I can tell you, the ableton rack macros are not the same.. the workflow is different, which btw was Andrews point being an ableton macro user himself.
@@knobross6703 I wasn't refering to the racks, macro knob is a separate device that can be used to control things outside of a rack, it can be mapped to parameters in. VSTs . It is a m4l device in one of the free packs. You and Andrew spoke of racks, not me.
It doesn't have the built in curves though, they would need to be grouped in with other devices or created using the chain envelope in racks . which does make Transit a quicker workflow, unless you build a template.
I'm not knocking the plugin, just saying there is a different option in Ableton than using racks if all you're looking for is easy macro control.
Intro deal still up haha
Dude how about using a normal sample to demo the product Jesus
Andrew GREED
I'm no fan but c'mon, cut him some slack. Sure he's into the "fame and fortune" but he is genuine in his interest.
