My advice as a long time music producer just use free plugins and stock ones in your daw, remember no plugin is going to make you the next big thing and anyone selling you that dream is a grifter.
I've just gotten into duplicating a section of track, effecting that duplicate and then crossfading from one to the other in Cakewalk and Transit will certainly speed up my workflow for sure as doing this in Cakewalk is a PITA compared to a daw like pro tools. Especially in that I just randomly pick a preset instead of getting lost in "mastering" all the parameters of a modulating effect. And with 300 presets there should be some descent surprises.
To have an oscillator or noise generator in an Ableton rack, you can use a self oscillating filter as the former, and/or Ableton’s Erosion which will add noise or an oscillator signal to an audio input
Actually I think just using Infiltrator and using Ableton’s group function to map different parameters of Infiltrator to a macro knob. I think it do pretty much the same thing.
The transition will sound better when you make it a bar or more longer. Try it, it gives time to the effects to do their thing. I agree with the rest of things you mentioned. I hate how it doesn't have auto gain and some presets are F-ing loud!
Dropping a sample of noise or an oscillator into a hybrid reverb as the impulse response and using only the convolution portion of this effect can give you noise and oscillator sounds that can be modulated within an effect rack.
That's why i switched to bitwig, It allows you to modulate anything with a crazy amount of modulators and gives you the freedom to put anything anywhere, including the master. It is a sound design dream daw
To all the haters saying that you can do the same thing with this or that plugin, well why not just have one brand of cars. Why do we need 100 different make and models of cars when just one will do. And let's take that logic to music production. Why not just use one DAW since the same thing you do with DAW A, you can do with DAW B. I find it ironic that people are touting their different DAWS and plugins that supposedly can do the same thing as Transit, while completely ignoring that fact that every single piece of software you have, has al alternative, just like just about everything else you have in life. A lot of useful "inventions" aren't exactly 100% brand spanking new. It's just that someone saw the potential of another or several existing products and then figured out a way to make them work together and then create a whole new product, or a better use experience. Look at the iPhone. Before that there were cameras, and then there were mobile phones and then there were MP3 players. Apple combined them into one device and most importantly, dropped the physical keyboard which was predicted to be a death sentence and allowed the user to use touch to control it. These ideas already existed, but Apple was able to combine them in an intuitive way and now every single smart phone today uses that template. Sometimes a new plugin doesn't have to be brand, spanking new fro the ground up, like Transit for instance. It just has to be intuitive and have an easy to figure out GUI and be able to work with any DAW and any computer. I bet you put someone new to music production and have them use Transit and any other name alternative and they would be able to get results faster, much faster and with a lot more fun using Transit. It's all about the workflow. I have seen some of the alternatives and while they might work, their GUI is complete crap. Turnado comes to mind. It might be really good, but that interface...argh! I'm all for getting ideas down fast and with one knob to rule them all, Transit beats everything else by a country mile when it comes to usability and intuitiveness.
Great Job Weaver! I'm getting back into DAW production & I want infiltrator & the pro version of Vital. They seem to be at a good price currently & very pleasing to my ears.
Thank You! I agree. It’s sad for the Community if too many RUclipsrs lose their honesty to gain more… money or followers. All those gears that are so tempting out on the market, and actually, most of us spend too much money on things we won’t use. I have loads of plugins that I never use. I have stolen time and money from my goal to make good content.
I got tired of these types of embargo or whatnot videos a while ago and I treat them more like "just news that it exists" and I watch a later more balanced review like yours. I rarely need to buy stuff and I'm never quick about it anyway, I prefer to wait and research both for software and hardware. I do not subscribe to channels which constantly do stuff like that, but they still get suggested often so I can keep myself informed when I want to.
Medal production has a free oscillator plugin. You could put a MIDI envelope follower on a midi track modulating de volume of the plugin or of a utility in front of it like a gate. Or you could put gates, side chain, or whatever else to trigger the sound
There are a lot of multi effects that include a macro knob like Kilohearts Snap Heap and Serum FX. I’m not saying that Transit is not good but the only innovation that they bring to the table is that it’s the first to be marketed specifically for transitions. BTW if you are a Bitwig user, you can use an FX container to chain a bunch of standard VST FX and use the modulation source to create a macro knob that will modulate the parameters you want. Then you can automate this macro knob on your track to achieve the exact same thing.
You can do a similar thing with the linking of LFOs in Tracktion Waveform, but like Ableton, Transit is probably a bit more glorified and quicker, although not significantly. Snap Heap has it with their plugins as well.
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdf Truth be told, I would like something quicker than Blue Cat Patchwork, Transit, Snap Heap, and LFO linking, etc, but I realise my own sheer laziness in putting the work to macro-automation of utilising just one of these to a great extent. Likewise, have a good rest of your day.
You can already do this in Reaper using their automation (which you can pretty much do to any parameter in any plugin). I'm pretty sure you can also automate with tempo and other aspects. It's not a feature I use a lot, so I wouldn't be surprised if you could get even deeper within Reaper. I'm fairly certain Bitwig can do this as well.
I watch 2 videos from one of the few people that I trust to do reviews, no matter what the release is. After that it’s pretty much the same thing over and over with a little more or less detail.
i got it for $53 by clicking on one of the affiliate links in one of those release day videos.. indeed some of the praises they sing of it are seriously WTF - there was a discount though.. it's good for that price, especially if u make the effort on setting up your own chains of FX. Ya spot on with Turnado - i had that long ago and would use it for transitions and glitch fx on live sets with the Dictator set to a slider on my Faderfox. It is harder to dial in a chain thatr's just not to wild with it indeed. Can see me using it in combo with ableton racks - and Infiltrator now that you've programmed it into my mind to get a copy : ))
By reading these reviews I realize that by having free FX presents in free sample packs I would only have to experiment with some sounds in Fl studio put them in the mixer play around with the mixer plug ins and could get effects similar to Trasit. I love Fl studio because it's learning curve is easy for me at least. I just have one question is there a free synth bass plug in that is an alternative to Monolith? If there is please provide links. Thank you in advance.
@@crnkmnky I have Subdivide, 808 Bass Module Lite, and 808 BM2 Lite. I also have Vital, Triple Cheese, SynthMaster Player2, Trap Basil, Trap Drive, V Station, Zampler and a few more free VST plug ins. I also downloaded free sample packs from hipinstruments. I watch RUclips video tutorials for making melodies even though there's a tool in Fl Studio that you set what chord you want your melody to be in and there's an arp tool to use.
Well, if you want a plugin to be "exclusively designed" for bass sounds, I recommend Bass Station, it's discontinued and free. Otherwise, any modern software synth, paid or free, set to mono, will work.
Nice office Detective Beats! I gotta say I enjoyed this video... a nuanced blend of shill slapping with a useful (and interesting (almost exciting)) review. Baby Audio never fails to stir up some of the biggest shilling frenzies when they drop new plugins. They spam the shit out of every RUclipsr with a demo/NFR and a personalized affiliate link 🥕 Whether Transit is good, bad or indifferent, it's impossible to find an unbiased RUclips "review" as they're all on the books, which turns this place into QVC on crack...
I agree with you 100% on the annoying over-hyping and synchronized mass marketing - it actually makes me less likely to jump on a new plugin. It's not that I think Transit is essentially a bad plugin, but it can (mostly) be replicated using other tools. I believe you could recreate it almost completely with Kilohearts Snap Heap, especially when you include their MultiPass module in the equation.
What's a Marshall amp without Valves? An Aiwa? Can't quit unmatching those. I leave that thing at the mastering setup, using the same old plugins and the tempo track a bit of scaling, mda plugs not included. Namastè.
Thanks - seems like a fair and balanced review. I agree, the whole launch day synthfluencer extravaganza has reached the point where it's a bit perposterous. I didn't really catch it with this one in particular, but in general I can see the trend and it's not a good look for the content creators or the sponsors.
Its a time saver for transitions... like complicated Ableton racks, that also save you time. I like plugins (and racks) that save me time, as I can focus more on the music; the sound design, the chords, the melodies, the mix, lots and lots of more important things. At this point, I have stopped buying new synths (cough... we shall see) and buying fairly cheap plugins that save me time, like this one, as I am somewhat terrible at transitions and I do use them, pretty often.
TBH I don't have any of these transition FX and having watched quite a few videos about Transit and that you with a 10% code it's only $45 which is really cheap and it does have some crazy functionality and can save time for people....I wouldn't pay full price for it but I grabbed it.....I appreciate your point of view though, marketing ad nausium but this thing is really quite good.....
@@SynthfulDuck 🤨 _Nicolas_ said that _Nicolas_ likes the plugin, and _Nicolas_ got it for a price that _Nicolas_ found reasonable. Which part of _that_ made you sick? You think he's shilling? Most musicians who have steady employment can save up $45 for a tool that they find value in. Maybe "affordable" would trigger you less than "really cheap?" 🤷🏿♀️ I'm sick of comments from broke kids who get butthurt when software costs actual money. Okay, it sucks. Find a free alternative or wait for one.
Big thanks for making clear what that plugin really is - a rise/drop multi FX. Pretty useful IMHO if you're working on "tracks" (pattern based electronic stuff), but pretty useless to magically create transitions in traditional "songs".
You are a litlle bias in your test too. I mean you could have made a longer loop so we can hear it better ! but you choose the way that suit your comment about commercial practice ( that every other compagnies does ). It was really to short ! And yes other youtubers praise the plug in but at the same time they made a real demo of it, long and explicative ! And to be honest I tested it and it s fire if you need a quick transition
I thought of the plugin as a dumb thing the first time I saw it, then I gave it a chance and it really is a comfy shortcut to have. It's true that you can always automate transitions, but with these things, easy = more creativity, so I ended up digging it.
Reviews, and not only about vst plugins, have been working this way for like...forever..even before social media...so i don't know why anyone is surprised. That being said, replicating this plugin in Patcher is 100% possible, but it will take some time to get right, i am sure (hope) as we speak, that there is someone working on it already, but the very fact that i am excited about the replica of this plugin, means that this plugin did something right.
Yeah, I was thinking this could totally be done in patcher, though I'm not sure how optimized it would be depending on what mix of plugins are used. Great idea though!
@@BeatsWithKev yeah, the only problem might be the bypass of the different effects, since, with my limited experience with Patcher (i have done some vst replicas myself) having the ability to load all the effects that you want at will, means that every plugin inside of patcher is always loaded and affect CPU, even when bypassed. A workaround might be to do different instances/presets to simulate the different presets in Transit, but, not only that is more work, but it also make the plugin less useful and not really a 1 to 1 copy of Transit inside Patcher, since it does make it way more limited.
I can do all of these effects in Ableton - BUT I rarely consider combinations and the speed to make transitions is so much more efficient, I don't particularly enjoy spending ages to make transitions and this plugin works so fast. Tbh these musicians who are supporting the release are trying to make a living and I don't think supporting an actually interesting and good product is always a bad thing.
embargo day vids are usually cringe, unless it's a product I want and somebody I trust, but it's usually just shill garbage trying to sell something nobody needs. But hey, if somebody making those videos doesn't have to flip burgers to get $$, then I ain't gonna judge, I just won't watch and then later be jealous about how many views they got to shill some dumb plug in. That said, I like Andrew & Rachel K but I wont buy a plug in full of effects I already have.
when did infiltrator 2 come out? I finally reinstalled it, it is actually badass now I’m going to use it every day…. for the effects it had at launch it was too fiddley, but now…. fuck upgrading bitwig now lol just kidding itsapples an oranges but infiltrator is really good though
The influencer campaign is tedious as hell, but good UI design and great UX is extremely important for folks that don't want to spend 8 hours on every fill. I hope Transit will _influence_ other plugin creators to think about how to shorten time for us. Another great example is RC-20: it keeps me in the vibe when I'm laying down foundations and still looking for what combination of tastes will work.
The problem for Andrew is...i got Turnado, Infiltrator and yeah...Looperator, Shaperbox and lots of other shit and using Bitwig which is a Modulation Monster...i just dont need it.
First thing I thought when I saw Andrew's video on the plugin was, "neat but I can already do this in Cardinal which is free and open source". Fair, Transit does appear to be very straightforward and quick to use, which I absolutely cannot say about Cardinal or about making a stock chain in your DAW... But it struck a nerve when I started seeing every youtube producer person pretending it is revolutionary wow incredible or something.
first of all, i made it this far in the video! about your other question: yeah surely, a lot of ass-kissing content out there. but i'd bet my ass those influencers weren't even paid well. they just believe if they can maintain their business contacts it will be better one day. now about your plugin review: what's interesting about it to me is that i recently made a very similiar video. i also compared transit with other plugins that were historically remarkable for having such a macro feature. i did it because i was pissed off no one remembered my plugins, but also mentioned massive, serum, vital and minimal audio curve eq. but you actually mentioned a lot more effect plugins i wasn't even thinking of. it would be perfect if there was a video that just combined both of our approaches to this problem
While the overblown embargo releases do rub me the wrong way sometimes, really all I ask for from creators is a little more transparency about their relationship to the launch. Rachel K Collier's title is typical silly over-the-top RUclips clickbait, but anyone who knows of her music and business relationship with Andrew also knows that she's just doing what she can to help out another close confidante in the industry while keeping her channel fresh on the drop (which I think she's entitled to, given their collaboration). Most of the broader complaints here truly are the blame of the exceptionally competitive atmosphere on RUclips (and for plugin sales in general), so really no qualms with Andrew on it. And Andrew, always a class act - is on the money with his response. Appreciate the healthy discourse here. I do plenty of automation and make racks and have Infiltrator... but I might still buy it as an EZ Button since I respect Andrew and Baby Audio. Nobody cares what I have to say, but cheers.

Did you eat paint chips as a kid, you described how to produce something. I’m asking to hear something you used said technique in.
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdf how would me showing you an audio example actually prove that it’s done with what i described? It can’t because it’s not a video.
Didn’t say it would prove anything, but I would have taken you on your word with an example in a tune… it’s not that deep, partner.
Yeah, those short envelopes were weird, and they didn't quite end on the beat.
Dropping a sample of noise or an oscillator into a hybrid reverb as the impulse response and using only the convolution portion of this effect can give you noise and oscillator sounds that can be modulated within an effect rack.
I'm SO GLAD you're here! And I made it this far in the video!
Plug in seems like a legit tool, Andrew is inspiring. I'm glad to hear you like it. Nice review.
I only buy plugins where the thumbnail has a shocked expression of the reviewer 😮
What about ujam finisher boost? I'd be keen to hear your thoughts if this plugin was better than that?
Thank You!
This reminds me of Rantons Video about early access for publisher friendly video game reviewers/influencers
OK FINE I’LL GET THE DAMN INFILTRATOR
It's a very tidy audition tool imo.
Will enable laziness.
Will encourage exploration at the same time.
Medal production has a free oscillator plugin. You could put a MIDI envelope follower on a midi track modulating de volume of the plugin or of a utility in front of it like a gate. Or you could put gates, side chain, or whatever else to trigger the sound
There is a UJAM plugin called finisher boost... ;-)
how have i not known about you channel until recently? You sir are based me thinks… all your vids I’ve seen are simply solid and that matters
Where’s your awesome music to hear this utilized? Soundcloud link, Captain?
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdf Theory only takes you so far. Best to ask someone with lots of experience for the practical results, Admiral General Aladeen.
Sounds like you’re dodging… ok, have a good one then.
I love these double-standard videos. Like there is really anything new out there since forever...
Feels like this happened with the uno synth pro x, too.
Definitely did. Jakob Haq has the best video for it however, if you are curious about the synth.
This video proves why BWB is wrong and why we need people like you. Someone has to watch out for the major consumers behalf
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdfUnnecessarily rude.
Don't forget Tantra 2 or if you have NI Komplete there's Molekular.
I think Collage could be a good alternative actually.
I watch 2 videos from one of the few people that I trust to do reviews, no matter what the release is. After that it’s pretty much the same thing over and over with a little more or less detail.
What happened to the mixer?? In the shop??
i got it for $53 by clicking on one of the affiliate links in one of those release day videos.. indeed some of the praises they sing of it are seriously WTF - there was a discount though.. it's good for that price, especially if u make the effort on setting up your own chains of FX.
What channel did you get the discount from?
@@ViRiXDreamcore Idk, but if you download the trial they email you a 10% off coupon that you can use on top of the sale price
I don't know Monolith. What's the difference between a free synth and a free synth _bass?_
Which free plugins have you already tried?
They spam the shit out of every RUclipsr with a demo/NFR and a personalized affiliate link 🥕
Whether Transit is good, bad or indifferent, it's impossible to find an unbiased RUclips "review" as they're all on the books, which turns this place into QVC on crack...
I found it odd that Rachel's video was above Andrews video on his own product.
DS Tantra 2 is an honourable mention.
@@ghfjfghjasdfasdfAre you capable of not being an obnoxious a-hole all the time?
Made it to the end
I aint gonna lie, I love this channel 👽👽👽👽👽👽
I made it this far in the video, I'm glad you mentioned Turnado.
Thank you for this very honest video
TBH I don't have any of these transition FX and having watched quite a few videos about Transit and that you with a 10% code it's only $45 which is really cheap and it does have some crazy functionality and can save time for people....I wouldn't pay full price for it but I grabbed it.....I appreciate your point of view though, marketing ad nausium but this thing is really quite good.....
"Cheap" is relative to your privileges. I'm sck of comments like yours.
Maybe "affordable" would trigger you less than "really cheap?" 🤷🏿♀️
I'm sick of comments from broke kids who get butthurt when software costs actual money. Okay, it sucks. Find a free alternative or wait for one.
If anyone uses reaper, the Reapitch does buttery smooth pitch. I am not sure if you can get it for other DAWS though
Have you tried using it as an effected osc for some gnarly morhping basslines?
where's your affiliate link to pluginbotique?
Turnado from Sugar Bytes is is similar but probably has as many options. a CLASSIC
Great video and 100% agree with everything you said in the video
I made it this far but now i fear for my legs
I'm probably wrong, but it reminds of Cableguys Shaper Box. Well I already own Shaper Box, why do I need this? Btw, I made it this far in the video.
I thought of the plugin as a dumb thing the first time I saw it, then I gave it a chance and it really is a comfy shortcut to have. It's true that you can always automate transitions, but with these things, easy = more creativity, so I ended up digging it.
Isn’t this just basically Sugarbytes Turnado?
I made it this far (approximately) in the video. Does this save my legs?
That Andrew Wang plugin makes what the Macro plugin in Ableton it's been making for the last 20 years.
You might be able to use a test osciliator for the noise and osc devices. I dont use ableton though so i dont know if that is in there.
Hello. Are you exclusively an in the box producer?
I've now got Transit 2, Shaperbox 3, and Infiltrator 2. Get on my level yo.
Stutter Edit 2 is another nice alternative...
producers be like.......uhhhh,i have no creativity anymore.......sigh
embargo day vids are usually cringe, unless it's a product I want and somebody I trust, but it's usually just shill garbage trying to sell something nobody needs.
I kinda want to try and make a better ableton rack clone, but also I know that playpm will probably do it with free software and in reaper
playpm will do it in Garageband. It will probably be more painful in Reaper, but worth a try.
Oh no, creating cool fills and edits takes time…. waaaaaaaannnnh
The problem for Andrew is...i got Turnado, Infiltrator and yeah...Looperator, Shaperbox and lots of other shit and using Bitwig which is a Modulation Monster...i just dont need it.
bros a detective now
First thing I thought when I saw Andrew's video on the plugin was, "neat but I can already do this in Cardinal which is free and open source". Fair, Transit does appear to be very straightforward and quick to use, which I absolutely cannot say about Cardinal or about making a stock chain in your DAW... But it struck a nerve when I started seeing every youtube producer person pretending it is revolutionary wow incredible or something.
Transit is a dope plugin. Super useful, saves me a ton of time in terms of setting up a ton of automation, can just do it all at once
I can't believe I made it this far in the video just to find out where the links are!
The baby audios plugins UI is always on point tho
first of all, i made it this far in the video!
about your other question: yeah surely, a lot of ass-kissing content out there. but i'd bet my ass those influencers weren't even paid well. they just believe if they can maintain their business contacts it will be better one day.
now about your plugin review: what's interesting about it to me is that i recently made a very similiar video. i also compared transit with other plugins that were historically remarkable for having such a macro feature. i did it because i was pissed off no one remembered my plugins, but also mentioned massive, serum, vital and minimal audio curve eq. but you actually mentioned a lot more effect plugins i wasn't even thinking of. it would be perfect if there was a video that just combined both of our approaches to this problem
I 1000% can do this with an Ableton rack and stock (or 3rd party) plugins in 1 or 2 minutes and get much better results
Well said!
The Plugin is Not bad, definitely useful also i see how it definitely speeds up the workflow. Will definitely purchase it
I got it, I like it.
This kinda looks like SerumFX with extra steps, a bunch of stock effects in one plugin
Dada Lifes ‘Endless Smile’ is great for transitions. Kind of the same thing, this one obviously has tons more control. Definitely trying this out
